Last thread here, but it was never going to last for tonight!

Elderflower, apparently I played with Orlando Bloom as a child. There must be another thread in this. All the ones that got away from when MNers were 4 years old.

(He does seem a bit of a knob now so Katy Perry can have him)

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 01/11/2020 20:51

I didn’t notice Anton grasping anyone’s arse- but I’m sure Shirley’s boobs were applauding independently of Shirley after Nicola/Katya’s dance on last night’s show Shock

Ellmau · 01/11/2020 21:01

Definitely the right one to go.

I have a theory that the first person announced safe each night is someone with a fairly low vote share. I may be wrong, of course, but it wouldn't surprise me if that was the case this week at least.

stillsomewhatsheldonesque · 01/11/2020 21:07

Can you imagine being Baroness von Biscuits? Talk about a lifetime's supply

Nay lass. Ye’d be off your chomp on the colouring from the candypussies. Grin

I was a bit surprised about biscuits though dancing off.

He was pretty good but as I watched
Jacqui and Anton through my fingers, it was a fair cop.

The result was not a surprise. But I was surprised at Anton flapping the hand ower the hump!

I didn’t watch they and their soft squishy legs. The veg needing put away was far more important. The parsnips weren’t impressed by they either. The carrots had not comment. The tatties are censored.

Aw Max and the flowers though 😍

augustusglupe · 01/11/2020 21:07

I like BVB too and I liked his routine, esp in the dance off. It made me laugh though the way the judges made out it was a close call!!

Theromanempire · 01/11/2020 21:17

Ooh spooky...am just catching up on the thread and am at all the Dr Ranj chat (lovely story elderflower) and up he pops on an advert on the telly Shock haven't seen him on telly since Strictly so proper coincidence!

stillsomewhatsheldonesque · 01/11/2020 21:18

It is like a close call for me walking in Milan vs a supermodel.

Unless barbapapas become the shape of choice, and they needed Italian milk souring, the super one would win every time.

So not close then eh? Wink

Clawdy · 01/11/2020 22:40

Felt sorry for her ,but she was obviously going to be first out.

KitchenDancefloor · 01/11/2020 22:45

Just catching up with it now. What's going on between Johannes and CQ? She didn't turn around to acknowledge him when it was revealed they were safe. It's a bit early for a falling out.

MoonJelly · 01/11/2020 22:51

Given that the pros have had to bubble with their partners, I wonder if that gives some an incentive to try to get knocked out ASAP?

Spreadingchestnut · 01/11/2020 23:42

Thought Caroline's behaviour was very flat last night - when Tess spoke to her after the dance, she just gave a bit of a fake smile and didn't speak back hmm

I think she may have been conscious of having cried a lot on the first show and was trying to rein herself in this time for fear of being labelled too "luvvie".

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 02/11/2020 00:11

I wondered whether she'd been upset by the lockdown news for some reason.

She did turn and hug Johannes when the light went off, but I was a bit surprised she didn't do it sooner.

Impatiens · 02/11/2020 00:22

I don't mind Jackie going, it was all very 'ghost of strictly past' stuff with her and Anton, but Craig's remarks were excessively unpleasant.

That's amazing about TD and Bill but although Tess looks great I think it's Bill who looks old for his age - he could easily pass for 65! Shock

ppeatfruit · 02/11/2020 08:40

Schdy There's a very rich plastic surgeon who'd agree with you about Tess.

I like Biscuit boy a lot BUT I much prefer that cutie without the vowels.

I did wonder about the 'closeness' of Ant's n' Jaq's relationship. Like Joe's and Amvir's (sp?) .

mogloveseggs · 02/11/2020 08:43

Just caught up.
Felt sorry for Jamie in the dance off glad he stayed.
Nicola was better at the street moves than katya they should have done a pure street dance
Caroline definitely not herself last night
Loved bill
Loved Jason's enthusiasm
Right person went.
Noticed Maisie and gorka whispering to each other when they were in shot when Tess was introducing someone-rude.

stillsomewhatsheldonesque · 02/11/2020 08:58

Not that I want to sully our glittery wafty thread but who was it?

ppeatfruit · 02/11/2020 09:01

Oh I heard Zoe on R2 this morning talking to Motsi about all things Strictly 'twas good. Last Monday she was talking to Shirley I think.

GreenClock · 02/11/2020 09:03

Re lockdown - I guess the argument is that they can’t WFH. A bit like professional football, rugby etc. I suppose that Tess and Claud could appear via screen, the judges too.

Is the orchestra socially distanced, I didn’t notice...

I know that the death rates and the economy are everyone’s main concerns but I think that Jacqui was right when she alluded to the importance of SCD for fans of the show in these times. I feel the same about football and rugby, too.

mogloveseggs · 02/11/2020 09:49

I think the orchestra are behind a screen or have I dreamt that

IntermittentParps · 02/11/2020 10:06

Thought Caroline's behaviour was very flat last night

I agree. Hope she's still having fun and is back on form next week.

Bill was utterly charming. I love him and Oti as a pair.

Jacqui was the right choice to go, but good for her giving it her best shot and not being sulky about leaving. Samba is a TOUGH dance for a beginner so early on.

Felt sorry for Jamie; he looked crushed at being in the DO. I liked his routine and thought he had some genuine style.

Maisie is hard as nails IMO and is a total ringer.
Jason is adorable but Luba needs to crack a smile, the miserable so-and-so.
Max is thick as mince and has no presence.
HRVY is just tiring.
JJ is sweet and clearly not scared to work hard. I like him.
Nicola's was just contempo-waft nonsense but I really like her. A grafter and passionate, and the most beautiful smile.
Ranvir was good. I'm not warming to her yet but am giving it time.
Clara is SO likeable and I love her and Aljaz together.

I think the singers/orchestra are all screened off from each other.
I am missing the crowding around, hugging and general camaraderie. I wonder if they're able to get to know each other and bond at all? I know it would have been hard in many ways but I kind of wish the cast had all formed a giant household like on the Bake Off so they could all crowd around Claudia and storm the floor when someone does their last dance.

EvilRingahBitch · 02/11/2020 10:14

The orchestra is a bit smaller, bulked out with some prerecorded elements, and that gives them enough room to spread out, there are also Perspex screens between them if you look.

kittensarecute · 02/11/2020 10:23

I thought Caroline seemed sad last night, maybe she was upset about the lockdown news. I love her and hope she wins. Throughly enjoying the series., despite all the covid related changes.

Maireas · 02/11/2020 10:47

I loved Claudia's conveyor belt in and out of the Clauditorium! They all seemed very happy. I was worried about Clara because I really like her, but I am glad she relaxed. I thought Jaqui left with dignity, she had a good time and tried her best. The others said she was a lovely person.

BigBadVoodooHat · 02/11/2020 10:53

She seemed like she'd had some bad news. She definitely appeared sad rather than just mardy. Sad
