Tennis: waltzing into winter

I'm not sure what I will see tomorrow, got lots of annoying appointments ( a zoom call with school which will not be fun- I hate zoom calls, I look like a witch).

The dog is getting twitchy. He has been eye balling me for ages waiting for me to take him out.

I missed the Stan/Dan match- well done to Stan- due to the Teams meeting I had with school, which was suitably painful. Got an hour before I have to take dd2 to hospital appointment.

Looks like Kevin got a bit of luck , after having to retire himself the other, and benefited frm Djere retiring in his match.

Dh is stomping around like a bear with a sore head- he has just been informed the new lock down means that football matches are off. (was pretty obvious they would be, to be honest). He had spent all weekend re-arranging fixtures that kept being cancelled due to half the girls in the Greater Manchester being sent home from school to isolate. .

Just switched the tennis on - not sure if it’s my telly but it looks as if they’re playing in the dark!

Just been to the hairdressers to get my pre lockdown haircut and colour. They all seemed a bit gloomy having to close down again - it’s rubbish

I think Norbert is on in a bit - he’s playing Goffin.

Gilles Simon is not happy - he’s having a right old shout about something!

I have just started watching. It does look dark.
I was listening yesterday, and at one point, it souded like Sam said something about 'playing with the roof'- now, I was only half listening- so I am not sure what she was talking about. But- this is an indoor tournament, I would hope there is a roof .

I missed all of Dan v Stan as well. I'd noticed it was starting at 10 and then I completely forgot about it. I switched on just in time for Stan's post match interview!

Watching lovely David Goffin now. He's on the brink of going out though, Norbert has been playing well.

Mo's umpiring sounds even more like a panto villain when it is all echo-ey, with no crowd.


I keep expecting him to start cackling.

Well I am another sad case because I am so happy I can now watch the tennis! DS1 got Prime on trial to watch a football match and didn't or couldn't unsubscribe. I've borrowed DH's tablet and I'm delighted with myself

Very tight match for Stef- was a shame either had to lose- but a good win for Humbert. It really is turning into a good year for the young players.

I was also wrong about Holby- I think it might be next week.

I saw the first set of the Tsitsipas match then I had to break off to supervise some homework and managed to miss the rest. The cheek of it!

I presume Rafa is playing tomorrow then? I haven't looked at the OOP yet.

DH still in hospital but has emerged from the fog of delerium ( a medical condition). He is so much more resposive, but still bed bound & being fed by a naso gastric tube. Not out of the woods at all, but today was a a good day, he knew me & was responsive to chat. I am just so happy that the delerium has lifted & we can connect again. Whatever happens this is such a bonus. He even tried to wave as I left him. Me visiting him is not a problem as I am classed as a key worker for him to help the delerium go.

Still reading all your tennis chat & loving it. Keep on going, please.

That's great news magi. It's only right that you are allowed to visit him. Hopefully he will continue to improve now.

I forgot to post about my dream the other night. I had gone to England to meet up with some of you lot to go to a tennis match. The first person I met was really abrupt and just said come on we're meeting everyone else in a pub. In the pub someone gave me a scrapbook as a gift. It was like something the DC's would have made in infants with drawings and lollipop sticks glued in but they kept falling out and I was trying to put them back. Then we all left for the tennis but on the walk down the street I looked in my handbag and it was full of jewellery and I realised I had picked up the wrong bag in the pub. I was really worried that everyone would think I was a thief. I think the stress woke me up

Tennis was still going on in Paris when I switched off about half an hour ago, Berrettini was playing. I can't remember them.playing so late there before but there did seem to be a lot of matches scheduled for today.

Magi That's good news, that you can visit your dh- that alone must be a weight off your mind, and it must be big thing for his recovery/keeping him comfortable.

Just settling down to watch Rafa, who seems to have come dressed to match the court. With pink. I do like the green though, not sure about it with pink. it might grow on me .
