Yes, Vicky Gill did her costume bit. Luba has an acid yellow fringed bikini top with matching skirt. How Vicky loves that fringing! Caroline has a very elegant tango dress.

I thought that Rylan seemed more relaxed In ITT last night. He looks better too. Maybe the job share last year with Zoe didn't go very well .

Anton and Jacqui seemed comfortable together. Someone's got to go first. I like Anton

@ppeatfruit I definitely like Anton, it's just I don't think he should be paired with the celebs anymore, it is too predictable now they will always go in the first few dance offs. And it only seems fair of all the male celebs get a equal bit of the cherry partner wise , then so should the women. Surly no one would actually choose to be paired with Anton over ANY of the other male dancers available

Champoo Maybe he's got it in his contract! I mean he's not a Joe Varney or a Johannes is he? (I'm talking about his dance ability) There has to be room for everyone I suppose.

If I were Jacqui I would choose him above them, they'd be bored out of their minds with her. (And she'd be frightened out of hers )

I thought Caroline looked a bit short for him actually. We'll have to see what they look like in a proper ballroom dance where they're in hold more.

About Anton, he was always a ballroom specialist (and extremely good at it too) and they have a lot of Latin specialists now. Plus I would say dancesport has become a lot more athletic over the last 15 years or so. His Latin isn't awful as in he doesn't know what he's doing, but it looks quite dated.

Anton made the final last year, and also the year that he was paired with Katie Derham. And his partners invariably say they are delighted to have him I don't believe most of them. I wouldn't miss him if he left Strictly and it's really noticeable in the pro dances that he just can't do what the others can, however lots of viewers think he's great and I suppose he's worth keeping because of that.

I have different pros for different dances in my head but genuinely, I'd be fine being paired with him because
a) He has a sense of humour
b) He isn't a slave-driver
c) His ballroom is gorgeous
d) It wouldn't look cougar-y
e) He can do the dances I really want to learn
f) He's got kids so he gets it
g) Expectations can be confounded
h) He has a fanbase so some votes there
i) If his lowest bar set is me enjoying the experience that's fine
j) In my dreams, in his pink shirt I will sex him up a bit the nearest to ever doing that was Fiona Fullerton

Ruth still adores him. Eamonn referred to him as the kiss of death when calling out Dawn French on her podcast comments and Ruth was Leave Anton alone, bless her!

@BlackAmericanoNoSugar I must admit o only made it till week three or some such last year, I couldn't deal with Bruno anymore and Kelvin looked to be the winner so early on. Plus I found myself shuddering every time Tess said anything so I didn't watch. Look, I adore the Anton, and it seems so unfair because of his age and more dated perhaps traditional style that he be expelled, but he has had his day now.

He should 100 percent replace Tess though, that is a campaign I'd lead!

I do think they could have used him to replace Bruno - he did a decent job with the Children in Need one he judged. Then we could have also had Neil or Graz with a partner...but then it's awkward next year when/if Bruno back and he's out on his ear/demoted back to biddies like me He's done very well though to stay on the show as long as he has. Tony Dovolani got the boot from DWTS aged 43.
I did think after him and Shirley squabbled a bit last year that he'd go the way of the Cole but no, lived to waltz another day.

I think Ian Waite would have been a good replacement judge for Bruno this year. He's very knowledgeable and seems like a lovely person. I agree above, the dancing has certainly got a lot more athletic over the years. Katya and Oti in particular get very gymnastic.

Indeed. They put him out to pasture too soon. Him, Brian, Darren, Matthew all went at once: I loved Artem, Robin was fine, Jared - I'm the only one who seems to have liked Jared
Ian's schtick on ITT needs some oomph. He could have judged for a series, I agree. I was surprised he didn't get Rylan's job, given his closeness to Zoe. I like Rylan, mind.

I am watching Gio with his hand on Ranvir's leg at the start of the interview and thinking cor blimey. Wonder if he's going for a showmance. That's one way to stay in! (She looks amazing in claret and on so little sleep, plus he's no longer with Ashley, she split from her husband pre Strictly...fauxmance might not be the worst tactic! Worked for Mollie) She looks fab in that rehearsal - wow! I had her as an early boot but I really hope she stays in a good, long while - her work ethic and attitude is amazing. Allegedly Clara's pink suit was on sale from Top Shop but even if I found it they don't do plus size (I didn't but I found a similar one at boohoo in 3 colours I wanted at a bargainous 26 quid....but they don't go higher than a size 14. Gutted).
