@Maireas

Bill and Oti were lovely, weren't they? So are Jntt and Hrvy. I'm a bit distracted by her dress, though Confused
The pros always get glammed up for ITT
Maireas · 26/10/2020 19:01

Don't they?! Katya and Nicola were lovely too, and very excited. I hope they can last a good few weeks.

ElspethFlashman · 26/10/2020 19:11

I find Maisie a bit annoying but am so delighted by her lovely strong legs and amazing backside that I dont care too much.

Speaking of backsides: Karen's covered in leopard print in the opening number. Couldn't take my eyes off it, I was nudging DH and going "LOOK AT THAT ARSE!" like an old perv. Blush

Nosuchthingastoomuchcheese · 26/10/2020 19:22

I thought Jeanette looks very thin
Worryingly so. She's so lovely. I hope she's ok. Great for her to have a decent partner.

Speaking of glammed up pros.. I was very surprised to see on Otis insta stories after the show on Saturday that she had what appeared to be a brand new face of make up, (completely different shade of eyeshadow to what she wore for her dance.. I think!) and it made me wonder if the show was filmed a LOT earlier than normal? Because I would have been expecting them all to go home to bed after it finished Halloween Grin

Maybe they had a small after show type bash.. but then not sure how that works with bubbles.

peachypetite · 26/10/2020 20:29

Jeanette looked scarily think on it takes two today

peachypetite · 26/10/2020 20:29

Thin

katienana · 26/10/2020 20:57

I thought the same about Janette. She's always been tiny but that she does seem to have lost weight

lynsey91 · 26/10/2020 22:09

I have always thought how think Jeanette is. Low cut dresses just do not suit her

SequinsandStiIettos · 27/10/2020 00:46

I think it's just the typical dancer's body - she is flat chested with no cleavage. She'd therefore completely suit a halter neck or just a suit jacket like Phoebe Waller Whatsit. That very low cut v plunge isn't flattering as it's all no chest and collar bone: fine on the catwalk or in a Latin leotard but noticeably skinny in real life.
They look better together than expected though - I thought with the age gap it was going to be worse than Flavia/Louis, and they should have gone with Nancy (29) but at 36, Janette is looking youthful and Harvey clearly respects and adores her.

SequinsandStiIettos · 27/10/2020 00:48

Bill will do a decent quickstep I think. Nicola will be amazing at streetdance, just surprised they are doing it week 2.

stillsomewhatsheldonesque · 27/10/2020 01:24

Finally I get to watch this. I haven’t read anything because I was frightened of a spoiler or sevuuuuun!

So. Briefly because I know you will have gone through it all in detail. And I know nowt so will go on how it made me feel.

Biscuits and Karen.

Whoever dressed Karen well done. She looked hawt. Whoever dressed biscuits wants a medal. He needed a good bit of dressing. Ahem. Music and dance wasn’t for me. But they’d had their Beroccas. And he’d clearly watched the Count on Sesame Street, ah ah ah.

CQ and Johannes

Hated the music. But I liked her dance and if I may say, J has a superb posterior. And I like that she got a wee bit weepy. It is lovely getting to do something you’ve longed to do. Just not every week though darling. Because Stress will shuffle over involuntarily and do a Covid breaking hug. You don’t want that Caroline love.

Max and Di

I love his accent! Agree with Craig - easy ont’eye. Wasn’t fond of the song but ok for a first dance I think.
Buzzin.

Clara and Al.

I love the term geeked out! Loved it!! And she looked a-ma-zing! Craig thought she was stompy but I wanted to dance so...

Jacqui and Ant the Beak

In it to win it? Aye right.. but it wasn’t nearly as shocking as I thought it might be - so well done her. Although I’d have like them to do the TMay dance in amongst that!!!! That was one of my best political watches ever! Good on yer though.

JJ and Amy

Bloody loved the Cass bit. (Ex forces) It wasn’t complex but it touched me. And that is what Dance is all about. Lovely stuff. I went a bit when his family came on. Slap me with a sequinned kipper and call me Caroline!

Maisie and PissyG

Grand dance and music. Spoiled only by all the bells and phones and jewellery. Ding dong! No. Not ding dong. Ringer. That’s the word.

Jason and Lube

Hell yeah I broke out my McHammer! Their dance made me feel happy. Did anyone else have those tank tops in the 80s? In burgundy and grey? I am but a maven.

Ranvir and JV

Ditch them tights/leggings love. But I did like your dance and Joe is looking fierce. Good job missy! And you looked smashing. Didn’t like the song. Again. Is it just me?

Nicola and KissyKatya

I wish that some would dance to the Roses. I was mad for it back in the day. Anyway. I thought she did a fine job. I usually love Get Happy but something didn’t fit with the version. But that smile is beautiful and so I can forgive the song.

Billy and Oti

He found his African knees bless. Joyous. I bloody loved it. Grin
Me and my Scottish belly wiggled away. Mint. My fave. 😍

The vowel thief and Janette

Bring on the campanologists. If he ain’t danced before then I haven’t filled my face with pies over the years. Only my body ain’t lying and nor can his. RNGR2

Sorry that wasn’t so brief. I got carried away Blush

stillsomewhatsheldonesque · 27/10/2020 01:46

And I just want to go and get a pair of scissors. And then snip a sleeve off of Craig’s jacket. Everyone else had gone asymmetric so he can too.

herecomesthsun · 27/10/2020 02:31

I think Janette had implants (previously mentioned on these threads) - so I'm surprised if she now looks flat-chested?

ThursdayLastWeek · 27/10/2020 07:26

I think we’ve always been able to see the bones in Janette chest, because I often find myself mesmerised by it.

I really don’t wish to be cruel, but her being with such a little boy partner has really made me realise how mature she is (in the strictly world) - have I just been tricked by her height all this time??

But whatever, I absolutely loved watching her jive on Saturday.

FuzzyPuffling · 27/10/2020 07:41

still some I love your summary. Please can you be the new Monkseal? ( I nearly said "monkfish" then!!)

Nosuchthingastoomuchcheese · 27/10/2020 07:51

Cant believe shes 36! Wasnt just her chest, she looked like she'd lost weight in her face. Please eat Janette!

ppeatfruit · 27/10/2020 09:01

Yes sorry Elder Blush It was Motsi who gave the 9 to the no vowel boy. I was so amazed to see a 9 and the 2 8s I forgot who gave them. The judges needed chill pills IMO , he had flattish feet occasionally he certainly wasn't perfect. Though great energy, sweet personality, and verrrry cute, he'll go far. Lovely on ITT.

I enjoyed that yesterday, Zoe was good too. Interesting that Nicola said she had ASKED to be in a same sex partnership, and Katya saying they both have to learn to do leading WOW so much work!!

stillsomewhatsheldonesque · 27/10/2020 09:48

@Nosuchthingastoomuchcheese

I don’t think I could manage to eat Janette ... ShockWink

@FuzzyPuffling

That is lovely of you but I’m absolutely unworthy. More than happy to be a monkfish though. We share similar gobs! Grin

TheoneandObi · 27/10/2020 10:13

Re Janette and her bones. I am always astounded by dancers' shapes these days. Scroll back to old TOTP programmes of the 70s and you'll see Pam's People or whatever the current iteration was, and they were all waif-like, slim and not at all booby. These days though it seems compulsory to be booby (real or fake), or else in the case of Janette your slight frame will be remarked upon as out of the ordinary.

kazzaD66 · 27/10/2020 11:54

I don't know if it's already been mentioned but what is happening once couples start to get voted off? Obviously, in previous years, the celebs have gone but the pros stay and gurn in the Clauditorium but I don't know about this series. All the group dances are already recorded and there is no mass gathering in the Clauditorium, although the couples were sitting at their socially distanced tables floorside. What will happen there? What about wafting around the musical guest on the results show or have they also all been recorded, or will there be no musical guests? If there is no reason for the discarded pros to be in the studio, will they just stay away and go back to any family they may have had to be away from because of their celeb bubble? In which case, it's going to be very quiet in the studio come December. And how will it work when everyone reunites for the celebs and pros group dance on finals night? Will those returning be required to self isolate again prior to the show or will they just not bother trying to get everyone back for one quick socially distanced dance?
So many questions HmmConfused

Unfortunately, I didn't think Janette's dress did her any favours either.

Can't believe there is a couple's choice dance on the second week. Bloody ridiculous! Although, I'm a bit old school and much preferred it when the first two dances for everyone was a cha cha and a waltz and then other dances were gradually fed into the series, leading up to the more "showstopper" dances, such as the Charleston, Argentine Tango or the American Smooth (which has absolutely no place in week one!!!).
I know this has been discussed ad nauseam on this thread but it still makes me bloody furious Angry

Maireas · 27/10/2020 11:58

"Discarded pros" Grin! kazza you make some good points, but I'm guessing it's all planned for and displayed in the fullness of time. I don't miss the Clauditorium or the shrieking audience. I think it's a bit more temperate this year, and all the better for it.

covetingthepreciousthings · 27/10/2020 12:33

@kazzaD66 also Grin at 'discarded pros'

The issue I'm concerned about is when the couple take to the floor to do their final dance and usually it ends with everyone running in for a hug.. what are they going to do instead?! Have to just stand their just as a couple swaying awkwardly till the credits roll Halloween Shock

Maireas · 27/10/2020 12:48

Yes, that could be awkward. The goodbye tends to be very emotional, doesn't it? Maybe they'll just wave!
