Last thread here.

I thought we might run out of space soon!

I thought it was Motsi who scored 9...? Surely not Craig?!
It was a great show but definitely too early for a 9 I thought.

mogloveseggs · 26/10/2020 10:30

I'm pretty sure Diane said she bought all of Joe's shirts for him at the end of series sale?

Hoctober · 26/10/2020 10:42

Craig and Shirley gave 8's to NVwls, Motsi gave the 9

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 26/10/2020 10:50

They used to go back to DSI and were sold on — I've seen a few at competitions. Now more are heavily themed, I doubt they'd sell as well for that though.

Dianne did say she'd bought some of Joe's shirts (he was wearing the Joseph one for the best of musicals week show), so they must get an option to buy them if they want.

I've just checked, they still do sell on the ones that people might wear for competitions, look here. If you click on more info, it tells you who wore it. Some were worn by sponsored dancers rather than on Strictly, but I recognised quite a few.

I'm sure there was a feature on It Takes Two where they were taking about repurposing/rehashing parts of costumes into new ones where they could, plus the selling on.

Thanks for that, really interesting seeing them for sale. Have to admit I was a bit taken aback by the cost of them, but I suppose they'll have taken so much time and effort to make with all the hand sewn details it is probably a fair price.

ChoccyJules · 26/10/2020 11:09

Ooh blimey, I didn’t think they‘d be cheap but they are pricey!! I guess it’s the hand-sewn sparkles they always mention...

I caught up last night. Much better without Bruno. Craig is clearly so pleased he‘s not there he’s taken leave of his judgey pants. I like Bill but he wasn’t as good as I had read. The Enders ringah is going to annoy me but I guess that personality has got her where she is today. Don’t like Caroline as much as I thought I would although she danced better than I expected. Johannes is clearly the new prince of the show after KFG‘s exit. Hurrah!

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 26/10/2020 11:18

Am I the only one not irritated by Maisie? Sure she’s a ringer, but she’s also a good dancer, very hard worker and as humble as you can reasonably expect from a nineteen year old soap star, no?

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 26/10/2020 11:20

The Strictly costumes often turn up on Strictly based shows in other countries. I've seen a few of them on the Irish DWTS.

I don't mind her, although I wish she'd speak slightly slower and quieter.

I don't know if she does shout a lot, or if it's just her timbre, accent and enthusiasm combining, but I found it a bit much, especially combined with the hot pink!

Not the only one. I was all set to hitch my bust and purse my lips but actually we all really liked her-she is, to quote the fam during the show, “as fit (as in muscly/strong) as a butchers dog” and clearly isn’t afraid to work like stink in the gym and at rehearsal. Also liked that she appears in rehearsal with no make up.
covetingthepreciousthings · 26/10/2020 11:32

I don't mind Maisie actually, I thought she'd really irritate me, but actually think it's very refreshing to see a girl whose only 19? Whose very confident, I wish I'd had her confidence at that age.

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 26/10/2020 11:53

Polka, Mrs Wooster and Covet

I thought I wasn’t alone.

@1forAll74

Caroline Quentin is annoying, very actressy and loud, and prone to being tearful. Her dancing was ok, but if she is always going to be tearful when the results come up, it will be a pain to watch her. Thankfully we had Bill Bailey to offset all this, he with the tight yellow wrinkly trousers. and swishy hair.
It might be a pain to watch Caroline, but she comes attached to Johannes, so I am willing to grit my teeth and breathe through the contractions.............

Hoping he dusts off his heels this series, my favourite ever strictly moment that was.

kittensarecute · 26/10/2020 12:09

I hope Caroline does well, I thought she danced well and seems rather sweet.

Ah thanks for that. Good to know all that skill isn't going to waste. But the prices! Shock
PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 26/10/2020 13:22

I think they're asking quite a lot. If I were going to pay that sort of amount I think I'd look at how much it would cost to have one custom made for me, but at a smaller designer.

Dance dresses are a bit like cars — as soon as they've been worn at a competition they drop in price. The best thing to do is try to buy one that's only been worn a few times, preferably on a different competition circuit or in a different country.

I remember my dance teacher saying she’d seen “Rachel SClub’s” beautiful Foxtrot dress on a teenage girl at a comp about 3 weeks after it was on tv! Parents with deep pockets!

Maireas · 26/10/2020 13:40

To add to what's been said, Vicky Gill on It Takes Two says they reuse costumes as well.
ITT starts tonight, glitter friends!

mogloveseggs · 26/10/2020 14:06

Ooh I love itt! Almost more than the actual live show!

covetingthepreciousthings · 26/10/2020 14:07

I am so excited for ITT this year.. though it'll be interesting to see what content they fill it up with, will Friday still be an hour with a panel on the couch?! Will we still get a pro challenge!? That challenge is actually one of my highlights, I love watching them all. Just the speed of them!

Maireas · 26/10/2020 14:22

I just love the pro challenge! They're brilliant and the pros so competitive!

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 26/10/2020 15:19

I love ITT
Think it will be good this year... already there’s a less frantic, silly (sometimes) and slightly too tactile feel to the main show, probably because of the restrictions imposed by social distancing, so I guess this will also be the case on ITT.
I’m really looking forward to it.

Maireas · 26/10/2020 18:50

Bill and Oti were lovely, weren't they? So are Jntt and Hrvy. I'm a bit distracted by her dress, though Confused
