It's so schmaltzy but weirdly addictive. I find the time lines a bit hard to keep in my head, the kids were born in 1980 and jack is meant to be 36 so by the time he dies 17 years later he'd be 53 but they have him looking about 40. Also with the Laurel and William story they have them dressed in late 60's/early 1970's fashion and music not 1980 clothing or hairstyles etc.
I loathe jack - he is a bully, a drunk and violent. He bullied Rebecca at the most traumatic point in her life to take a third baby home with no concern over whether it was right for his wife or the baby, because he was determined to leave the hospital with 3 healthy babies. His behaviour over Rebecca's singing gig and beating up her band member is beyond the pale. He really thinks he's King Dong and Lord of the grand gesture, because he died all the family eulogise him (Rebecca claims he was close to perfect). I also hate how the women all simper around the menz and their issues except for MIguel who seems like a really great guy.
Really disliked Toby (aren't you going to invite me in for a handie?- eww) but he seems to be calming down a bit. Randall is becoming a right pain, no thought for wonderful Beth and girls when he has yet another mad plan. I think Kevin is becoming the most interesting character. I like Madison, good regular addition.
Rebecca doesn't look old enough in presnt time. I know it must be difficult with the prosthetics when IIRC she is actually a couple of years younger than Kevin actor in RL. Also think I read she is pregnant at 41 with first child in RL.
At least it's not yet another cop/murder/detective show. Some episodes are really great. Find Jack and the"sour lemon" down home doctor hard to take.
