Old thread full, so here we go again.

Going back to the last point on the old thread, I agree that they’re writing well for Tracy now. She’s still got her hard side, but they’ve made her caring in a straight talking way, rather than just a full-on bitch.

So Ray and Debbie want the whole new side of the street for some development?

Smallsteps88 · 02/11/2020 20:52

They have the bistro and the garage, they are trying to buy all the houses, the factory and Gary’s furniture building. What on Earth sort of a development could they ever build on all that land? They’ll never get planning permission.

JamieLeeCurtains · 02/11/2020 20:56

Oh for goodness sake. All of it.

Akire · 02/11/2020 21:44

Why is Sean always broke? Does he have secret drug habit? He has two jobs and rents a bedroom in a house. Does he pay child support? I always though his son was some sperm donation kind of thing for a friend and he was dad/uncle figure.

Grace did tell she was pregnant while being arrested so maybe he just didn’t believe her. What exactly I sent she being charged with? Child abduction on the last afternoon? I don’t think pretending a child is yours is a criminal offence.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 02/11/2020 21:59

‘So Debs, what actually WAS this bad investment you put absolutely all your assets into?’ - said everyone in the world except Kevin and Abi.

Also, how is Dylan, who has lived in London since he was a baby and could choose from several Premier League clubs to support, a Weatherfield County fan?

@Akire

If Michael was paying maintenance for “his” child, that is obtaining money by deception or fraud surely?

Akire · 02/11/2020 22:25

Ah yes that could be it! Although wouldn’t he have to press charges? Surely more of a mental health issue than anything especially when there was lose of a previous child. Mind you this is Corrie only the innocent and hard done by serve time.

Deadringer · 02/11/2020 23:33

We saw Grace with a positive pregnancy test but iirc she didn't say anything to Michael. Why the hell is she in prison/handcuffed, she told her ex the baby she was minding was hers/his, despicable yes, but she is hardly a criminal mastermind. And yes, Sean should be minted.

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 03/11/2020 00:15

I don’t get why Grace is in shackles! She didn’t abduct the child just pretended it was hers, I don’t think Michael was paying maintenance just bunging her a few bob here and there when he had some spare as he did not have a job for ages and got the factory job so he could become a proper father, there was nothing formal in place so don’t see how it could be fraud? and yes surely it would be a mental health crisis because she miscarried or aborted (can’t remember which) her baby.

YESSSS! Aggie’s back!

Smallsteps88 · 03/11/2020 08:01

Grace was always reluctant to take any money off Michael. She would say he’d done enough and she didn’t want it so I don’t think they could do her for fraud by deception. That wasn’t her goal.

Lol

That was strange mum cooks breakfast takes plate into kitchen. Next second mums left her phone?? What she’s in the kitchen!

Glad just not me confused over charges. Different if took strange child but the one she lives with and is paid to look after goes out with her for few hours. Hardly prison, maybe a restraining order.

JamieLeeCurtains · 03/11/2020 11:22

Everyone female on Corrie these days ends up in HMP Wetherfield and/or abducts a child and/or is involved in a killing, or is closely related to said felons.

Mavis would clutch her throat, aghast.

eggandonion · 03/11/2020 12:46

Maybe Aggie will end up in prison.

chasingmytail4 · 03/11/2020 12:56

@eggandonion

Maybe Aggie will end up in prison.
She could be charged with Deception (pretending to be an actress) ...
desperatehousewife21 · 03/11/2020 13:42

I did laugh when Abi kicked the car and said that really hurt. Also when Sally said to her ‘did you just come here to dis my biscuits?’ Grin

When the footballer brother said to Michael ‘Here’s my sales pitch lord sugar’ dear god no, he’d be fired in the first episode.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 03/11/2020 16:38

@eddiemairswife

I have 2 Billy bookcases.

I used twitch Corrie years ao. I was obsessed, It started when I was working with adults with communication problems and needed a bit of common ground to stimulate conversations (asa I preach, and someone recommended it as a way to ground sermons - they were half right). - Anyhoo, I love it watched every episode, and the repeats, and the omnibus just in case I'd missed a bit - and then when I retired I went cold turkey (my favourite character had gone anyway, and I couldn't stand Ken Barlow, the street intellectual, and all the comic characters seemed to have disappeared - to me the affectionate comedy made the programme. I was left with whiney Sally and boring Ken and I couldn't be bothered any more.

However, after reading this thread, I think I might get back to it.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 03/11/2020 16:38

*to watch - not twitch

eggandonion · 03/11/2020 18:27

Oh do watch it , its fabulous. Look at us communicating away.
I read a spoiler yesterday, but it was so crazy I I think I may have stumbled upon a fake spoiler site.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 03/11/2020 19:36

Thank you egg - I will look up the days and times and see if I can get into the swing again.

I really need something to take me away from real life at the moment. Everything is so depressing . . .Sad

JamieLeeCurtains · 03/11/2020 21:05

See you at 7.30 tomorrow, @SchadenfreudePersonified.

It's only worth watching with these threads, though Grin

SchadenfreudePersonified · 03/11/2020 21:52

Ah!

The apres-Corrie!

eggandonion · 03/11/2020 23:14

You can take out frustration and even schadenfreude here, be horribly mean, while being as pleasant as possible to real life people.

KodakNancyEurope · 04/11/2020 13:17

By the way as a public service announcement, if you have a high garbage threshold (like all of us have to have with Corrie right now) and you are depressed to shit, look out for the Mallorca Files on iPlayer.

Sunshine, silliness and not a mask in sight.

Got me through wave 1 of lockdown.

eggandonion · 04/11/2020 16:44

I haven't got iPlayer - we can get it on dh's work laptop so I will have to convince him it is really excellent. Once he is hooked, he is hooked.
