Old thread full, so here we go again.

Going back to the last point on the old thread, I agree that they’re writing well for Tracy now. She’s still got her hard side, but they’ve made her caring in a straight talking way, rather than just a full-on bitch.

Yes that makes more sense than chesney owning it.

Smallsteps88 · 20/10/2020 22:07

Not that Corrie writers are too bothered about things making sense!

excelledyourself · 20/10/2020 22:15

So why haven't they put their name down to move? Confused I know they then won't live on t'street, so would have to be written out, but it's a small price to pay, surely? Grin

And why were they ever talking about funding an extension?

eggandonion · 20/10/2020 22:16

The council could knock two houses together. Couldn't they.

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 20/10/2020 22:57

@ShrimpSymphony

Why have they made Jenny so ridiculous lately? She used to be a serious character with proper storylines now I just cringe when when she’s onscreen doing ‘Corrie Comedy’ and screeching. I imagine the actress must be cringing too.
That’s what they do with ‘women of a certain age’ look what they did to Gail’s character, she used to be a strong woman with her own business now she the family joke.
ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 20/10/2020 23:09
@PennyRoyal

You could be right as I remembered that but I thought Dev lived in that house or maybe I'm confused 😊
I thought Eileen’s house was Liz and Jim McDonalds old place back in the day?

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 20/10/2020 23:26

I was catching up with Eastenders tonight and Bobby has OCD and it reminded me of Craig’s OCD, was he miraculously cured? I remember him flicking off a few light switches several times but then radio silence, never to be mentioned again?

Roussette · 21/10/2020 07:48

Craig's OCD was pretty bad and it just does not cure itself, it's an ongoing thing that needs managing all the time.
yep, it's forgotten...

Deadringer · 21/10/2020 09:13

Iirc there was a storyline around Chesney taking over the house, he was living there illegally when Les left but it all got sorted out and he became the tenant. Or something.

EdwardCullensBiteOnTheSide · 21/10/2020 09:25

I think that house in Salford, the price is per tenant? As its five bedroom student house with all bills included and fully furnished, 495 a month would be crazy cheap for the whole thing 😂

MsMiaWallace · 21/10/2020 10:22

Surely if it's a council property they are now overcrowded so will be on the list for larger accommodation?
Also they would get rent covered?

Again Craig's OCD. He wouldn't have passed police medical with that I'm sure.

EachandEveryone · 21/10/2020 13:07

They would deffo get rent covered and still beable to work in the kebab shop

MrsScrubbingbrush · 21/10/2020 14:20

Just caught up with the last few episodes, like a lot of you I record them & fast forward the tedious bits.

The bits with Todd in were like a Brian Rix farce (for those old enough to remember them!)

Someone goes out the door - Todd comes down stairs
Some comes in the door - Todd goes back up stairs

A week's worth of episodes took me about 30 minutes to watch they were so dire.

I've watched Corrie for years, since it was in black & white, but once the Geoff/Yasmeen story finishes then I won't bother any more.

eggandonion · 21/10/2020 17:22

I liked Brian Rix, plus the sitcom Duty Free where people hid a lot. In adult life I have never hidden in an attic, wardrobe or balcony.

woodhill · 21/10/2020 17:54

Eileen's house was definitely the McDonald one.

eddiemairswife · 21/10/2020 18:56

I saw Brian Rix in a farce many tears ago.

JamieLeeCurtains · 21/10/2020 18:57

I looked on a Corrie fandom site (don't judge me Grin ) and Chesney & Gemma's gaff is rented, as pp said.

Which in itself is a mentalist story because apparently it went from private ownership to council ownership, and then 'a private landlord' bought it. As if.

I think Gemma needs be having a word with Andy Burnham.

JamieLeeCurtains · 21/10/2020 19:33

Todd's acting repertoire has expanded to include not just gulping, but also eye rolling.

We are in the presence of greatness.

FeltCarrot · 21/10/2020 19:40

Do we really have to see a grown man in a rainbow unicorn onesie?

Roussette · 21/10/2020 19:40

And product placement. Him holding up a Costa coffee very obviously.

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 21/10/2020 19:43

@FeltCarrot

Do we really have to see a grown man in a rainbow unicorn onesie?
DS1 walked in just at that point. Now he wants a rainbow unicorn onesie Grin
Roussette · 21/10/2020 19:44

Oh heck... Leanne is off on one, her over acting with being unpleasant is just tooooo much.

I've had an awful thought.....

Will they be keeping the Yasmeen/Geoff storyline until Christmas as it's the best they've got, and need something for then?

woodhill · 21/10/2020 19:45

Yes she's so rude it's unreal

JamieLeeCurtains · 21/10/2020 19:50

Todd has got a Peter Crouch mouth.

Roussette · 21/10/2020 19:55

Yes he has!

This is daft. Influencer comes back about his chopped off hair (don't blame him), Todd is exceedingly annoying, as is Billy, and Gail is being nasty now!
