Old thread full, so here we go again.

Going back to the last point on the old thread, I agree that they’re writing well for Tracy now. She’s still got her hard side, but they’ve made her caring in a straight talking way, rather than just a full-on bitch.

It's like amateur dramatics but worse.

BreconBeBuggered · 14/10/2020 22:46

Quite astonished that they didn't have Eileen going along with the fake funeral shenanigans. That might have been more convincing than the bloke with the gun sipping tea and being alternately social and threatening. At least, I think that's what was happening. I was pissing around on Twitter most of the time, and I never do that when Corrie's on.

eggandonion · 14/10/2020 22:50

I thought the fake funeral was a genius idea.

excelledyourself · 14/10/2020 22:54

Had Todd not massively skelped that "gangster" across the head with a plank of wood just two days ago? Not a mark on him tonight.

Deadringer · 14/10/2020 23:23

@nildesparandum

Craig is the least convincing policeman ever.Just as Billy is the least convincing vicar
We just need improbable GP back for the full set. Why was Eileen so fucking rude to people who went out on a limb to try and help her, even if it was a daft idea.
JamieLeeCurtains · 14/10/2020 23:28

And the Corrie writers are the least convincing scriptwriters. Ever.

Redshoeblueshoe · 14/10/2020 23:42

JamieLee it's a tough competition, Emmerdale is also spectacularly shite at the moment.
Things that are bollocks: Craig telling Eileen she must come and view every dead body Shock
All the visitors at the hospital. I know a child that has just been in a Manchester hospital and you are allowed ONE visitor. That's not one at a time. It's just one.
The whole Todd thing.
Every thing to do with Ray
And Gary, and now they're trying to make him into some saviour of the Street.

BreconBeBuggered · 14/10/2020 23:52

And another thing. And I'm sure there are reasons for it, but it still drives me daft. Characters walking into a scene wearing a mask, taking it off when they have lines, then walking off putting it back on again. I cannot get used to this. Nina in the cafe wasn't wearing one at all. Can't she have a visor at least? I fear for her Belgian buns.

Redshoeblueshoe · 14/10/2020 23:59

Brecon Grin they should give you a job, that's funnier than anything that they have come up with lately

JamieLeeCurtains · 15/10/2020 00:03

Nina and her Belgian Buns played at my student union once.

Smallsteps88 · 15/10/2020 00:08

@JamieLeeCurtains

I see Eileen has given up bothering acting.
Well the writers have given up bothering writing! Grin
ShrimpSymphony · 15/10/2020 07:51

Why have they made Jenny so ridiculous lately? She used to be a serious character with proper storylines now I just cringe when when she’s onscreen doing ‘Corrie Comedy’ and screeching. I imagine the actress must be cringing too.

lollipoprainbow · 15/10/2020 08:08

Not sure I'd want to be served in a cafe by someone wearing black rubber gloves aka Nina ! The whole Todd and Eileen storyline is rubbish, it's becoming farcical. Plus Tyrone being all suggestive with his nan about her love life v odd !!

StillCoughingandLaughing · 15/10/2020 08:25

Also, Todd must have been a bit hard up to sleep with Mick.

MaddieElla · 15/10/2020 09:25

Yes, the mask wearing. Gary sat in the Rovers sans mask at all, then later he comes back in for his hot pot, and only puts it on once he’s stood at the bar.

Roussette · 15/10/2020 09:40

Can you honestly imagine a relationship or even a ONS between Todd and the gruesome gansta Mick.
Not only is there a problem with acting and writing, there's a problem with casting!

And the baseball bat on the head bit was seriously comedy!

And... the hot pot must've had one slice of potato and a morsel of meat in it, as he grabbed it like it was an empty bag. At least put a brick in there, it was supposed to be two hotpots.
Attention to detail Corrie staff please!

eggandonion · 15/10/2020 11:02

My dh is a Gary fan and was delighted. Old Todd was pretty, this new Todd is uglier so could have hooked up with gangsta.
In my head it is Wednesday today, I think because I edited out Wednesday Corrie as having happened.

JamieLeeCurtains · 15/10/2020 11:15

So Gangsta Mick's now been bashed on the head with a huge plank of wood and then with a baseball bat, and keeps getting back up and threatening people? Just in time for Halloween 🎃

At least the Mick actor is giving the role some welly. Eileen's clearly given up, as has Johnny. And him that plays Evelyn's chap, I think he's longing to get back to a nice but of Ibsen.

excelledyourself · 15/10/2020 11:23

What do people think the plot for Arthur is? Is Kendall not really a dog? Confused

I hope he's not dying like Eastenders Daniel.

As you can see my mind has gone into overdrive at the sight of him outside Weatherfield General.

Roussette · 15/10/2020 11:31

Yes, why was he there?

That just popped up and I thought, have I blinked and missed something? After all it's so fast moving not

thenightsky · 15/10/2020 12:00

Not sure I'd want to be served in a cafe by someone wearing black rubber gloves aka Nina

Yes, she always looks like she's just got back from cleaning the toilets.

EdwardCullensBiteOnTheSide · 15/10/2020 12:25

Social services need to take Shona away from David, she's obviously a five year old in her head now and there is no way she can consent to a relationship with him!

eggandonion · 15/10/2020 13:39

I thought proper actor man who is Evelyn's love interest must have a wife dying slowly in hospital? I think Shona needs to keep away from the sinkhole. I love the brisk business in hotpots in the Rovers.
Perhaps three episodes a week would be ample.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 15/10/2020 13:47

Ooh, I bet that’s it @eggandonion!

@StillCoughingandLaughing

Also, Todd must have been a bit hard up to sleep with Mick.
Mick reminds me of that character in the Goonies
