Old thread full, so here we go again.

Going back to the last point on the old thread, I agree that they’re writing well for Tracy now. She’s still got her hard side, but they’ve made her caring in a straight talking way, rather than just a full-on bitch.

Entry in Belfast! Nothing good ever happens in the ginnel.

Clawdy · 13/10/2020 11:30

I'm sick of all the petty gangster/crime storylines - Todd, Johnny, Scott, Gary, Ray.....so boring and clichéd.

eggandonion · 13/10/2020 11:37

I want a cosy romance, wedding and baby. Just once.

BobsyerUncleFannysyerAunt · 13/10/2020 11:42

@Deadringer

Undertaker man seems to have a plan, could he organise a fake funeral for Todd, or is that too ridiculous even for Corrie?
Or, or, Or undertaker man is really the big boss of the gang and he is gaining her trust to find out where new head Todd is It's a honey trap Remember you read it here first folks Grin
TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 13/10/2020 12:15

We would call it an "Alley" in my part of the home counties. Ginnel sounds far more exciting!

JamieLeeCurtains · 13/10/2020 12:34

Down the back alleeey, where nobody goes ... 🎵🎶

eddiemairswife · 13/10/2020 12:39

I too am fed up with dull stories involving petty criminals. Surely scriptwriters could come up with interesting ideas about interactions between normal law-abiding people, who don't skulk around in back -alleys, ginnels, entries etc in dubious disguises.

thenightsky · 13/10/2020 12:57

All this drama because Todd owes some twat £1k? £1k? Seriously?

eggandonion · 13/10/2020 13:11

There must be more to it than 1000 quid. Todd must have done something bad to the baddie, like Gary disappeared his baddie. They all seem to have a baddie, like other people have dogs and cats.

Roussette · 13/10/2020 13:33

I'm laughing, yes they do all have a pet baddie! I'm fed up with all the petty Crims, it's boring!

eggandonion · 13/10/2020 13:39

I watched two episodes of an Irish serial about wind turbines, then read that it was a comedy drama. I hadn't realised. I wonder if Corrie is a comedy crime series now?

StillCoughingandLaughing · 13/10/2020 14:13

a kitty in the East Midlands

FFS autocorrect 🤬 It’s a Jitty!

OP posts:
Roussette · 13/10/2020 14:18

Hahaha, I was thinking about the 'kitty'... wow, I'm just going up the kitty to put the bins out would sound strange lol

in Sheffield it's a 'snicket' apparently Grin

BreconBeBuggered · 13/10/2020 14:34

Gangster action is one of my top 3 soap turn-offs. The other 2 are addictions/relapses into addiction, and gambling. The gangster/baddie always managing to overhear things and be a step ahead of his (it's usually his) victims is bubbling under at no. 4.
We didn't have ginnels where I grew up, but 'alleys' were marbles.

CoolShoeshine · 13/10/2020 14:41

I don’t like new head Todd

JamieLeeCurtains · 13/10/2020 14:49

Agreed, Brecon. I can't stand anything to do with drug heists, drug dealing, drug smuggling.

Roussette · 13/10/2020 15:13

Gangster action is what turned me off 'Stenders in the 80s!!

I think baddies, drug dealing blah blah is what soaps turn to when they can't think of anything else.

MsMiaWallace · 13/10/2020 15:46

Also in East Mids a Jitty May also be called a Twitchell.
Although I do prefer 'kitty'

StillCoughingandLaughing · 13/10/2020 16:33

Ah yes; I used to know the landlady of a pub called The Twitchell (that was up an alleyway).

We get enough of real life drug dealing round here without me needing to watch it on Corrie. I can look out of my bedroom window onto the main street and see it - no need even for a backitty ginntwitch.

It's all bicycles and a handshake these days.

TheGinGenie · 13/10/2020 19:35

I usually love Corrie but I'm really bored of all the story lines at the moment. Not a good one among them.

nildesparandum · 13/10/2020 20:55

@JamieLeeCurtains
I know what you mean, I don't have to watch Corrie either. In my street they are dealing openly from cars. One pulls up, someone flies out of a house and is handed something from car window. Then driver and recipient disappear like grease lightning.
Gary would not last five minutes here.He would away like a frightened little weasel.

Yes, and I live in a perfectly respectable neighbourhood.

Craig would be very befuddled with his little radio chattering while he gawped at actual traffic and actual bicycles and actual obvious crims.

Roussette · 13/10/2020 21:53

I am amazed that good old Craig is in charge of everything police related in Weatherfield and District!

PhoebeSnow · 14/10/2020 01:17

Craig is Super Cop!!!
