Fizzy I think it's crazy, the additional match on Chatrier has thrown the spanner in the works- surely anyone with any sense would look at this match and assume it will be long. Even if it isn't. I mean- look at this game already. It's been 2 hours- they are still in set 2.

Then Rafa could have played at a reasonable time, and if needed, a match moved over to Chatrier when he finished.

Oh dear- that was unlucky.

It's started to go a bit wrong for Diego.

I feel sorry for both of them playing in these conditions.

And now he has broken back.

The conditions are not good. And it's all very well the umpire saying it is fine- she isn't playing.

Earlier the commentators were saying that the rules about using the roof were very arbitrary (apart from when Djok is playing )

I agree - the players know whether they feel the conditions are safe so should have a say

It makes me laugh when talk about roof rules. If they can close the roof in the US open, because Djok thought he could sense rain in Serbia, then poor conditions should be a reason to shut it.

If both players agree the roof should be closed, then that should be the final say.

This is a very odd set, just one break after another. Diego has squandered a lot of chances.

They have got a point about possibly rescheduling today’s matches - they were criticised last year for putting important women’s matches on outside courts so would be reluctant to shunt the women’s match onto Suzanne Lenglen

Can’t imagine Rafa being happy about going onto Lenglen either - it’s going to be a long night (I’m tired already!)

The plus that there is for Rafa, is that the semi finals are scheduled for Friday- so he would have had an extra day off anyway. Should his match be postponed to tomorrow, he will still have a day off. That might be preferable to playing stupidly late today.
