So, there's no X Factor this year, and the Voice ended before Lockdown.

Not sure if this will fill the gap?

My issue is- will their tour even go ahead now anyway?

OP posts:
jay55 · 26/09/2020 19:11

I'm watching but it feels a bit weird and cheap.

Raahh · 26/09/2020 19:12

It is very odd- and they can't even blame COVID, it was filmed before all that. And this bloke has a lot of backing track.

OP posts:
Raahh · 26/09/2020 19:18

Are they going to put everyone through.

I am bored already.

OP posts:
jay55 · 26/09/2020 19:28

They're all so slimy.

IHaveBrilloHair · 26/09/2020 19:31

I thought it weird they've just announced a tour, I heard it on the radio the other day.Confused

KettleLaugh · 26/09/2020 19:34

If they show the interview they seem to put them through. If you just see them singing they don't get through.

Raahh · 26/09/2020 19:36

I remember this show being announced last year, before the X Factor Celebrity version thing. It sounded like they would be going head to head to head and then it didn't happen.

The sound quality to this is terrible.

That last one was awful.

OP posts:
Raahh · 26/09/2020 19:37

I really can't see a tour happening - on any big scale- any time soon Confused.

The80sweregreat · 26/09/2020 19:39

No X factor this year? I didn't know this :( makes sense but other shows have carried on in a socially distanced manner !)
This isn't too bad with the ' mixers' but I assume they will not be on tour at all this year. Which makes this show a bit pointless.
The boys all look so young and one and two can sing really well , but I agree it looks cheaply done and will they go to judges's ( rented) houses? 😊

jay55 · 26/09/2020 19:41

I think it doesn't help that I'm old and don't know any of the songs. The first two put an effort in but the rest have sounded bland, and not much cop.
Thinking how amazing the voice kids are in comparison doesn't help either.

Raahh · 26/09/2020 19:43

Simon announced even before Covid happened that there was no plan for X Factor this year - I bet he was relieved about that. I really didn't like the celebrity version. It seemed like a set up for Megan whatever her name was right from the off- and it hasn't really worked out all that well, really, has it?

OP posts:
The80sweregreat · 26/09/2020 19:50

Hello Raahh!
This time last year Covid was but a bad dream we all hoped would never happen and look at us all now :(
Agree that Megan's ' big break ' is still to come! I'd forgotten all about her.
I don't know any of the songs either.
At least on x they would do the ' classics' ! Lol

Raahh · 26/09/2020 19:56

80s it is all just so ^strange. I looked back on the last Voice thread, and was the week that the school closed before lockdown, and everything ...stopped. Just so wierd. Feels so strange.

DD2 is 10 on Tuesday- was an X Factor baby in 2010.

And now we are reduced to this cut price effort.

2020 sucks Grin.

IHaveBrilloHair · 26/09/2020 20:00

I've got tickets for a few things next year, bought before covid and rescheduled.
I'm not convinced they will go ahead, so I feel announcing a tour and selling tickets, which aren't cheap, for a tour that may not happen is in very bad taste.

Raahh · 26/09/2020 20:03

Ihave I agree. Things are changing on a daily basis, so things like tours are very much bottom of the pile. And tickets are not cheap. In a way, I can can understand putting this programme on as a 'feel good' programme to fill the schedules- but I don't think there should a disclaimer that actually the tour is very possibly going to be delayed- and all these 'hopefuls' might not get their chance after all.

The80sweregreat · 26/09/2020 20:04

Hi 👋!!
Yes, it's unreal having to wear masks inside and the schools were shut forever and just all of it is a bit of a dystopian nightmare.
Im not loving the ' new normal 'but nobody is of course. It is very sad and this year has been awful.
Maybe BBC had spent a lot on these girls so decided to air it anyway , despite the fact the big tour won't happen now?
It seems odd seeming people not socially distanced as well.

Raahh · 26/09/2020 20:04

I do think there should be a disclaimer....

OP posts:
Raahh · 26/09/2020 20:06

80s at the beginning when one of them was hugging and kissing all of them, I was all WTF- and then I remembered it was filmed in February. Grin.

It is funny how soon we get used to things changing.

And not shout -oi- no HUGGING- at the telly.

I'm watching and I'm definitely not the demographic but I love the relationship between the women, but watching the boys performing feels like a very tired format to me

Crinkle77 · 26/09/2020 20:07

Zeekay would be wasted in a bit band.

The80sweregreat · 26/09/2020 20:07

Yes, just a quick ' the tour won't happen this year , but watch this space' type thing.
Jesy's trousers are very strange.
They are nice girls but the fashion is odd. ( I know I'm old)

Crinkle77 · 26/09/2020 20:07

Grrr boy band.

Raahh · 26/09/2020 20:09

I'm warming to the format that they are doing though. It seems like a group a week. No messing or drawing it out too much.

OP posts:
The80sweregreat · 26/09/2020 20:10

They are refreshingly honest and it's getting on with it. That is a plus.
I remember them on X with their mentor who had an unusual surname and I can't remember who she was!
Wagner was on something the other day .. minus his bongo drums .
