So, there's no X Factor this year, and the Voice ended before Lockdown.

Not sure if this will fill the gap?

Wasn’t the best.

TacoLover · 04/10/2020 20:38

The comments about Little Mix are just tired now really, they dress the same way any other young female in the industry does these days and the slut shaming commentary is just unnecessary. They all seem like really lovely girls and their judging/presenting abilities are unaffected by whether they have lip filler or notHmm

You know what,I actually really have enjoyed this so far. I got bored of Cowell just eyeing up women like a cattle market and putting them down when their voices were great but you know they've got no chance if they're not hot and blonde. It got tired. He treated Little Mix appallingly as well.
I didn't think much either way of Little Mix, then DD won a prize to be a Hyde Park Summer Calling "YouTube reporter" in 2014, she was 7 and hugely into them. So off we went and actually, credit where it's due, they were actually pretty good live. Very energetic, very chatty with the crowd. We then met them very briefly backstage and they were incredibly sweet to DD.
I like their honesty, I don't get some of the clothes they wear but I'm nearly 40 so what do I know? I like they've all got very individual personalities, and of course Jesy's program about bullying was so raw and honest and probably really hard to film. I've got a lot of respect for them anyway.
They've also been in that position themselves, chucked together on a group, so I imagine rather than the pound signs Cowell rates everyone on, they're looking to give someone a leg up.

Standrewsschool · 04/10/2020 20:59

I think Little Mix come across really well. They seem to have a genuine friendship and are lovely to the contenders. I’m really warming to them.

JaneJeffer · 04/10/2020 21:33

Yes unfortunately they do.

GalaxyCookieCrumble · 04/10/2020 23:16

Absolutely loved watching this, as did my kids ranging in ages from 9 up to 21!
I especially loved tonight's episode, gutted that they did not put Dia through because she complemented their vibe so well, but you can clearly see why Little Mix are still killing it 10 years after being put together, they clearly adore each other,

GalaxyCookieCrumble · 04/10/2020 23:23

@Raahh

Ihave I agree. Things are changing on a daily basis, so things like tours are very much bottom of the pile. And tickets are not cheap. In a way, I can can understand putting this programme on as a 'feel good' programme to fill the schedules- but I don't think there should a disclaimer that actually the tour is very possibly going to be delayed- and all these 'hopefuls' might not get their chance after all.
They already have a disclaimer stating they will support them on their next UK tour.

Do you know what well said! We should be polishing each other's crowns instead of tearing each other down, Jesy has never had Botox or lip fillers, it's just makeup, and contrary to what you read, LM are not sluts just because they wear what they want when they perform, but guess using LM as click bait sells the papers.

GalaxyCookieCrumble · 04/10/2020 23:45

@JaneJeffer go troll elsewhere it's 2020 not the 1900s, go dust your cobwebs off Hmm

JaneJeffer · 05/10/2020 00:06

Wow I miss the X Factor threads where people had fun.

Dug14 · 05/10/2020 10:18

@JaneJeffer oh I see you think slut shaming is fun now?

ILikeTrains · 07/10/2020 16:35

I've really enjoyed this format of talent show, the girls are so lovely and appear to have a really good friendship between them. I like that they seem to be selecting their initial contestants on their actual talent rather than an interesting/sad back story, which so many other reality shows go for.

I also thought Dia should have gone through, I'm a little biased though as she was in my daughter's class, but she does have an amazing voice and she's going to have a good career in music regardless I'm sure. She also wasn't lying about being able to play various musical instruments.

GalaxyCookieCrumble · 07/10/2020 23:56

I follow Dia on Insta, yes she is a very talented girl!

JaJaDingDong · 08/10/2020 18:17

I think Dia is more of a solo/duo act.
I agree she's great, but she wasn't what they're looking for on this show.

moglovesquotes · 10/10/2020 20:11

Anybody watching tonight? Not seen much dancing to say they're a dance group!

moglovesquotes · 10/10/2020 20:12

Ah there's the dancing- we're on catch up Blush

JaneJeffer · 10/10/2020 20:23

I was watching Grin

moglovesquotes · 10/10/2020 20:36

Aw I was rooting for nataya Sad

Meredusoleil · 10/10/2020 20:56

@moglovesquotes

Aw I was rooting for nataya Sad
Me too! So cute.
moglovesquotes · 10/10/2020 21:03

So far I'd say the vocals instrumental group are the strongest?

hellsbells99 · 10/10/2020 21:24

I have just been watching last weeks on catch-up. Don’t know why they didn’t put Dia on the drums as she said she played them and they haven’t got a drummer. Her vocals were great.
Going to watch tonight’s now

ILikeTrains · 11/10/2020 13:44

I watched last night's episode and was left concerned at how thin one of the contestants looked (Aislí). Her appearance reminded me of Nikki from Big Brother - 'Who is sheeeeee?' Nikki - who had a well documented eating disorder. I hope the show's welfare team keep an eye on her.

gypsywater · 11/10/2020 13:52

I adore Jesy, but laughing at the idea that she hasnt had fillers/botox!

JaneJeffer · 11/10/2020 13:56

Aislí reminds me of Cher Lloyd but she's a much better singer, amazing vocal range.

Meredusoleil · 11/10/2020 14:22

@gypsywater

Me too!
