Just finished the whole thing and won't give any spoilers.
Do they get paid to do this?
Or is it for all their social media?

jaimebravo - I agree re Mick compared to the others you mentioned. I found he got more attractive as the series went on, I do like a manly man like Mick lol.

@Lotty32 I always google them and there are loads of articles saying what they are up to now.

I’m watching episode 32 and I’m totally baffled by the acceptable of Jess’ apologies? Like she lied, apologised for the timing but not the content (which was totally made up slander!) and Ning and Mark just went “yeah ok”

@Lotty32 they get paid basic expenses but some have said they got into a lot of debt doing it as they had to quite their jobs (eg Melissa from season 5).

If you google there’s absolutely loads of info. Some post-show fallings-out too!

I think motivations vary - some actually probably do want a partner, some think it would be a fun experience and some do it for fame I guess.

I have just finished series 6 - phew !

I don’t expect many will agree with me but my favourite couple was Mike and Heidi . I think their relationship had many levels , had more complexity and could have worked , given the amount of time normal couples have during a relationship . Mike was quite arrogant but I think he cared deeply for Heidi . He needed a bit more time with a relationship ixpert to thrash out his approach . Heidi , too , needed help with her insecurities . Mike had a lovely family , especially Dad . They all liked Heidi and I’m sure that they could have helped with intelligent observation.

I can’t believe how unconcerned Jess was when her lies and behaviour were exposed - I really don’t think she believed what she saw , so deep was her self belief and lack of any introspection. Martha was even worse and got away with so much .

Elizabeth was interesting to watch and went through the whole gamut of expressions only bettered by Marcel Marceau .

I thought that I had read that Troy and one other were going to make an appearance during the last programme .

It’s a good ending, isn’t it?!

I didn’t like Heidi and Mike’s relationship personally. I thought he was (at least bordering on) abusive. They certainly had strong physical attraction though.

Jess is only concerned about herself and has not a care about how her behaviour affects others. She was probably glad when it was exposed as it meant more of the drama/focus was on her.

I read that there was more to what was revealed of her behaviour than made it to the screen - a liaison in a lift.

@Verdita73 I know, Martha annoyed me more than anyone else as she pulled so much crap and never got called out on any of it!

Troy and Justin did make a very brief appearance in this series in a way, Cam suggested them as names for the 2 pot plants he and Jules bought together!

Dan: built like a brick shithouse and unfortunately with a personality to march. Just a slab. Which may suit Jess as she can impose her own on to him.
I was sad about Nic. He seemed genuine, kind and patient.
This series I've fought myself over checking to see how everyone's doing: well done me!

It’s amazing how much less attractive Michael gets as Martha gets her claws deeper into him. It’s like she’s sucked the wholesome essence right out of him!

I guess it would have been logistically difficult to include the two men - but still 🥺

I have just started series 7 .
Is it worth the investment ?

@Verdita73 I have seen S7, I thought there were some good couples in it, worth a watch. There was a bit of action off camera which made it not quite as good as S6

• there was gossip that Nic and Jessika pashed in a lift
• Jules and Cam got married and had a baby very recently. Heidi was one of their bridesmaids. Melissa was dropped as a bridesmaid at the last moment and got very cross about it
• Martha and her partner are also still together
• Lauren and ex-virgin Matthew had major issues with each other after the show. He said she tried to pressurise him into drinking etc and then harassed him via text saying he was gay. He threw his wedding ring into a volcano. He has a long-term English girlfriend now who now has a partner visa to live with him in Australia
• One of the contestants reappears in season 7
• Jessika Power has dated loads of other reality TV stars since including, iirc, Nick from season 4

Ines got arrested on a drink driving charge and was told off by the judge about her priorities.

Melissa was dropped as a bridesmaid at the last moment and got very cross about it oooh wonder why she was dropped? off to google....

I think maybe Jules felt she hadn’t been in touch enough

Phew, just finished and feeling emotionally drained. Still, at least I'll get some of my life back.
It's interesting how people like Jess and Ines don't have emotions only wants. Other people either get in the way or enable them. The obstacles are pushed ruthlessly aside and the enablers are used as tools to help them achieve their goals. Martha being the prime enabler of both of them. I just couldn't get my head around what benefit she got out of it.
I had though no-one could be more appalling than Ines, but Jess knocked it out of the park.
Martha now spends her time posting photos of herself pouting in minimal underwear on Instagram and looks ever more like an inflatable sex doll.

I know there was something not right about Mike but I did feel that there was something genuine about his and Heidi's feelings towards each other. I found it very emotional watching them but I was pleased she was strong enough to stick to her decision.

Cam and Jules were lovely, they seem really happy and I am pleased that they are still together.

I was shocked to read Martha and Michael stayed together, she was actually my least favourite I thonk, very sly and manipulative IMO. He seemed nice at first but I really dont think he can be.

At one point I hated Cyrell but I actually admired her by the end, I felt sad for Nic but thought they had a very genuine friendship, he was amazing throughout and I am glad they showed what happened between him and Jess.

Mick was awesome, Jess was so awful and I felt it was the most ridiculous match. I think he is in a happy relationship now from what I read.

I have watched S7 and it was great watching the person from S6 in it.

I still haven’t finished! My goal is to finish tomorrow.
