Wow. Fridays night and the death And murder of Chantelle 😢😢

That was moving and horrendous to watch while gray plans his alibi of her death With

In some ways she will silly to taunt him. And she should have left a message on Khareet phone instead of ringing it lots when went to ansa machine

She should have said she was leaving gray. She loved Khareet and last message was a ploy As gray found out

Then gray will be done for murder

All the other plot lines form previous thread have been sorted

Nice to have ee back after the break

I think he might see it as a secret relationship iyswim and not grooming and abuse.

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/10/2020 13:03

Can’t beleive ee are doing this story on muck and Linda

Yes they said she was a carer so lesst 18

Tho surely Frankie must have worked out mucks age roughly - if she is 30 ish then unless muck is 50 abs hes 42 she must have reliesed what 1) much younger then mum 2) a child

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/10/2020 13:04

And ruby and Martin married ???

What’s the point

So he can’t get back with Stacey abs she goes off (on ml) in a huff

I’m really irritated about the gray stuff - it’s almost like they’re playing it as a ‘two sides to every story’ thing where we are supposed to feel sorry for him for feeling so crappy??

Mrsjayy · 13/10/2020 14:19

I don't think we are meant to feel sorry for Grey i think we are seeing him unravel but I don't feel 1 bit sorry for him he is pathetic.

SoupDragon · 13/10/2020 14:29

Tho surely Frankie must have worked out mucks age roughly

Not necessarily - if she is going by the age of his other children she might not have realised they had them so young.

SoupDragon · 13/10/2020 14:34

I think they've done Grey's story in an interesting way - most people will think an abusive partner is obviously violent and full of hate. Grey is neither of those things and proves that you can't always tell. They've played the "two faces" of his character well. It has perhaps drawn attention to the "hidden" side of DV. Most abusive partners on TV seem to be played as obvious bullies. Gray is a likeable, professional man who came across as loving his family.

gingercat02 · 13/10/2020 15:10

I think the Gray/Chantelle story is very realistic. He didn't frighten, beat her and eventually kill her because he hated her. He did it because he loved her and needed her ro be completely reliant on him and no one else! He loved her in a very bad way and there has been mention of his family relationships being dysfunctional so I'm sure that will come into the story at some point (hopefully soon)

Smallsteps88 · 13/10/2020 15:25

I agree it’s a more realistic portrayal than soaps usually do with DV. It’s very easy to go down the shouty/aggressive route but in reality it comes in all sorts of guises and some abusers a) dont set out to be abusive (but they don’t stop when they know they are) and b) don’t always know why they’re abusive (like gray seemed unbelievably terrified of losing Chantelle) so it’s good to have different aspects of it explored. I don’t see the references to Grays background as excuses not rather explanations for why he has become who he is.

Smallsteps88 · 13/10/2020 15:26

Not should be but

Justjoinedforthis · 13/10/2020 19:29

I am actually quite enjoying how upset Grey is, his life is completely ruined - maybe he will own up!

One thing that is bugging me at the moment though, is that Linda and Mick let go of the Vic to keep Linda away from booze-temptation, but they're in there all the bloody time! I hate Beale in charge of the pub.

Meredusoleil · 13/10/2020 20:25

I too think Gray is having a major crisis of conscience and his feelings of guilt are starting to overwhelm him. He was definitely talking about himself and Chantelle in court, rather than Leo and Whitney. Then when he looked at the policeman, I thought he was going to hand himself in then and there!

I love how Mia and Mack seem to have already bounced back as if nothing happened 😯

I can't believe Kat and Stacey still had the cheek to go and steal from Ruby. Have they not learnt anything from their previous mistakes ffs?

Poor poor Mick. Frankie's told him straight to his face the reality of what happened to him all those years ago and he just looked broken, like it had never occurred to him that it could have been abuse 😢

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/10/2020 21:49

Agree Mack and Mia don’t seem very upset their mum is dead

SinisterBumFacedCat · 14/10/2020 11:23

I wish Bailey was back in it, she’s great.

IslaMann · 14/10/2020 12:38

Pretty sure Frankie said her mum was 20 when she got pregnant.

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/10/2020 12:47

Yes she said mum was 20. You were 12 not even a teenager

Surely she must think her mum is a perve for sleeping with a 12yr

Or grooming

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 14/10/2020 13:39

She did say something like "that was abuse" so it's her mother she's angry at/ashamed of, not Mick.

AlohaMolly · 14/10/2020 18:32

I do like how Frankie went straight in with ‘that was abuse mick.’ I like that EE made it very clear.

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/10/2020 19:44

Can’t beleive I missed that.

Obv was on phone

Rewatched abs yes she made that clear !!!

If this storyline regarding Gray & Chantelle was real life, the post mortem would have revealed previous broken bones on Chantelle. It looks like he will get away with murder, the police don't think it's suspicious, but Gray's being destroyed by guilt. What a horror, and a terrible actor, as if he is being wound up by a key on his back !

meow1989 · 15/10/2020 19:50

SURELY not going down the family annihilation route... surely Whitney will click and go to see him and stop it.

Akire · 15/10/2020 20:06

What was Shirley’s excuse for going there? Have they even spoken before??

Daydreamsinglorioustechnicolor · 15/10/2020 20:12

@meow1989

SURELY not going down the family annihilation route... surely Whitney will click and go to see him and stop it.
Oh my blood ran cold when he asked if they want to see mummy again.
nancy75 · 15/10/2020 20:12

Shirley was going to have a go at him for shouting at Linda

Meredusoleil · 15/10/2020 20:14

OMG. I just knew Gray was not coping and behaving in the usual way. As soon as he said to th me kids about seeing their mum again I thought NO he CAN'T can he?!? 😱
