@iklboo

Have any of you watched Yonderland? Same cast & very funny.
I'm a latecomer and recently watched it because it was part of my free package

It's fantastic and well worth the watch

I've just watched all 6 Ghosts tonight and I won't post any spoilers

But wow

FelicityBeedle · 22/09/2020 01:22

Just binged all 6 with a friend who is also a fan, thoroughly enjoyed them! I wasn’t a massive fan of Thomas’s episode but that’s because of the narrative device, I’ve never got on with that sort of thing.

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 22/09/2020 01:27

We loved Yonderland. One day I will have pet Parvuli!
The HH/Yonderland/Ghosts team are super talented. And Barbara was my favourite CTM character so I love seeing her in something else.

FelicityBeedle · 22/09/2020 01:28

I was trying to figure out the maths for how old lady Buttom is.
She said that her ancestors came from the cousin.
That was 1826 when they married, their son came to live there (presumably around age 20?)
So that brings us to 1846
That son was Lady button’s husband’s grandfather.
Assuming a generation is 20 years that would mean LB’s husband lived there age 20ish in 1886 ish.
Assuming again lady button is a bit younger but say 50 when she died, that brings us to 1915 or later.
She has always seemed late Victorian early Edwardian to me.
Apologies to anyone who tried to follow this ramble!

SinisterBumFacedCat · 22/09/2020 08:40

I love Thomas dancing to The Cure!

LunaNorth · 22/09/2020 08:45

I absolutely loved that! That’s the happiest half hour I’ve spent for months!

Robin is still my absolute favourite. His attempt at writing a rude book in Series 1 is my favourite,
‘And then they do it’ Grin

I didn’t notice anything odd about Katy Wix at all!

She's Edwardian. She's also Lady Heather's great grandmother and she would have been born in 1920.

I so enjoyed the first episode last night. I didn’t realise till I saw chrislilleyswig post that the whole series is on iplayer! Now I need to make myself ration it as there’s so little on tv that I like at the moment. I don’t want to binge watch it.

AIwaysThereMoonah · 22/09/2020 12:38

Binged it. No regrets. None.
Bloody fantastic series, they deserve every accolade going.

Oneearringlost · 22/09/2020 12:56

It is a pure joy.

NotYourDawg · 22/09/2020 13:28

fantastic show and have watched series 1 three times (first when it aired, then during lockdown and again when DS age 7 discovered it thanks to his older step brother!)

So I'm going to watch all 6 episodes of series 2, i got through 3 last night, to check they're suitable viewing for a 7year old and then watch again with him.

icelolly99 · 22/09/2020 13:44

@NotYourDawg I hear you. It was quite funny when my kids spotted something on Episode 2 and I had to explain something to them which features in Episode 3 Grin

chrislilleyswig · 22/09/2020 13:47

I thought it was a bit ruder this time.

DD who got to stay up very late to watch all, asked me about a particular term that did make me blush

AIwaysThereMoonah · 22/09/2020 13:53

Some of Jim Howick's comic timing (plays Pat) was

CountFosco · 22/09/2020 17:51

Argh! Going to have to binge watch it now to get all the comments. Do we need a spoilers thread as well?

iklboo · 22/09/2020 17:58

@CountFosco - yes please to a spoilers thread. We're eking them out and don't want to know what happens in advance if possible. Smile

BruceAndNosh · 22/09/2020 18:30

It really is a series that you can rewatch. I picked up loads of tiny funny things that I missed on first viewing.

AccioWine · 22/09/2020 20:30

I'm trying so hard not to binge, but have just watched ep 2. I couldn't help it Blush

BillStickersIsInnocent · 22/09/2020 21:20

Love Button FM and Pat Butcher’s glorious jingle 😂
Plus Thomas going all smooth with Louise’s pleasing cheese. I still haven’t got over Matt Baynton’s lip biting in the four George’s song at the Horrible Histories proms.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/09/2020 21:33

Loved it and will not binge

Wonder if house will end up a hotel /spa like in her dream

Me too. I adored Thomas dancing and Robin and Mary being all weird with each other.
Doginabandana · 22/09/2020 22:19

acciowine and Luna. Same here. Couldn’t help myself.

oh i love the four George's song
AccioWine · 23/09/2020 07:24

Tomato oh the HH songs are brilliant, aren't they? I wonder if there will be any singing in Ghosts? I know there is dancing- I'm loving the dancing!
