Can it really be S8?

This is my favourite ‘hate watch’! So much grasping materialism but I can’t take my eyes off it!

Anyone else watching?

Ooh thanks, I didn't realise there was a new series on!

thismeansnothing · 04/09/2020 11:57

I tried to set a thread last night and it wouldn't let me.

I see from Instagram 'baby paul' has started school. Wonder how big Paul will cope 🤣🤣

feedingfrenzyatfive · 05/09/2020 11:23

I'm so glad that after six or so years together and two children, Big Paul has now found Samanfaa to be 'wife material'. It's a 'hate watch' for me too.

MsMiaWallace · 05/09/2020 13:02

Hate watch is a good name for it.
Big Paul makes my skin crawl. He's awful!

Sweetpea84 · 06/09/2020 08:56

Oh god yes big Paul is just awful I can’t warm to him. I still don’t understand why he won’t propose is it a control thing?

FeeBeeBooh · 06/09/2020 08:58

Love to hate this. Sam is wife material now she stays home & cleans? She's pleased with this?

Chottie · 06/09/2020 18:30

Somehow I didn't feel sorry for Billie, Sam or Susie when they were listing all the holidays they had missed this year, Portugal, Barbados.........

Starksforthewin · 06/09/2020 19:48

Me neither, Chottie.

They really are tone deaf, aren’t they?

I see Greg has ‘written’ a second (money spinner) ‘book’ about his children’s adventures. 🙄

I would dearly love to know how much of the proceeds go to charity, as claimed, but asking that question on IG got me blocked... I even put it to Greg that surely he would want his loyal followers to know how much they’d raised for the good cause... Nope! 😂

MsMiaWallace · 06/09/2020 19:54

Don't you think Greg really married up

Starksforthewin · 07/09/2020 01:03

Looks wise, probably

Class wise, I would say they were well matched, that is, devoid of it!

OP posts:
MsMiaWallace · 07/09/2020 06:57

I meant as in looks.

louise4745 · 09/09/2020 11:31

I like them. This series they seem happy. Their kids are just usual kids. At least they don't hide it. I like Paul and Greg too and they both seem to help and care about their kids.

MsMiaWallace · 12/09/2020 14:09

I feel sorry for Billie & Greg getting disputes against their planning permission.
Surely the neighbours don't want it to stay the way it looks now?

Starksforthewin · 14/09/2020 17:45

But at least it is quiet!

I imagine the neighbours have seen how the Shepherds conduct themselves and are dreading the noise coming from that household.

Their current neighbours must be saints!

This is my guilty pleasure too (I watch in secret when DH is out!). So glad I have found the thread. I thought exactly the same about Big Paul - that he only wants to marry Sam when she is stuck at home cooking and cleaning for him and gushing over his new fitness regime, even though it is her earnings that facilitate his lifestyle, massive house etc.!

molifly14 · 19/09/2020 19:43

Pleased there's a thread!!

Yep big Paul makes my skin crawl, such a controlling odd mad. Especially when it comes to the children being away from him! All very strange.

I find Billie and Greg a lot more relatable and down to earth where as Samantha and Big Paul seem to act like they are a cut above the rest.

Starksforthewin · 25/09/2020 01:35

Another awful over the top party for Nelly tonight. I’m sure that child has six birthdays a year!

Anyone remember when Paul was born Sam was only going to give him home cooked food and the occasional treat? Hmm, all we ever see those children eat is junk and Paul is getting very fat in the face for a child his age. And the screens constantly!
Three hours after they went to bed the night before camp they were all still on screens. 🙄

OP posts:
MsMiaWallace · 25/09/2020 15:00

I think that Little Paul & Nelly do act spoilt, as they are.

It seems that Sam always tries to be that textbook parent. Not sure if it's for show but it seems a bit ott.

Arthur is very cute.

Beaniebeemer · 25/09/2020 20:39

Why did Billie and Greg rip out that kitchen. It was only the area above the hob that was damaged. Seemed like a waste of a good kitchen to me!

Starksforthewin · 25/09/2020 20:52

I agree Beanie

I’m sure they must have had it gifted or hugely discounted, promising the company they would appear on TV. So wasteful and it looked almost identical.

OverTheRainbow88 · 25/09/2020 20:55

Also love/hate this programme!

I think Sam is a very pushy parent.

Glad little Paul had fun at summer school!

metellaestinatrio · 26/09/2020 06:40

@Starksforthewin totally agree about the food! The children seem to eat nothing but junk (while watching their screens) and in the episode where they went shopping for school supplies I swear Sam was carrying round a baby bottle - Rosie is two and a half!

Nikhedonia · 26/09/2020 09:47

I still don’t understand why he won’t propose is it a control thing?

Definitely a control thing. Big Paul makes me feel really uncomfortable. Sam's desperation for his approval is horrible to watch. It was also really awkward in the episode where they discussed his weight loss and new fitness regime and it was as if she was desperate to convince everyone he now has a personality. All whilst Big Paul smiles on gormlessley

MsMiaWallace · 26/09/2020 10:50

Agreed with previous post.
Billie & Greg seem far more natural together.
Paul is devoid of personality & I do believe he controls Sam to an extent. It is like she is trying to seek his approval constantly.
God knows why? I bet off camera he is a right miserable sod.
You don't see him & Greg that close do you?
Also no Paul's mum this series yet?

NaturalLight · 26/09/2020 17:00

My guilty pleasure as well. The bits that leave me gobsmacked are the tablets whilst eating and the constant sitting on kitchen worktops. Is that normal?
