@Deadringer

I think Shona is a truly woeful actor, completely unconvincing in every scene she is in.
Agree, I cringe at her lack of acting skills, the manic laugh she’s adopted is ridiculous.
eatsleepread · 05/09/2020 09:32

I’d be amazed if Shona actress is happy about what they’re writing for her. If I was her I’d threaten to walk.

Corrie is basically home of the complacent actor.

Smallsteps88 · 05/09/2020 10:05

True!!

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 05/09/2020 10:55

Why did Alya not tell Tim that Geoff had canceled the other staff? Seems like it would have been the first thing she'd tell him. Are the script writers all working from home and have forgotten how normal conversation happens between real people?
Tim would have asked what happened or Alya would have told him what happened, but in Corrie, that's conveniently ignored. Makes no sense.

Also that he had ordered masses of booze without her agreement, and before the licence that he had applied for (against her wishes) could possibly have come through.

She is getting so hysterical, she's not sharing the logic to her anger with Geoff.

Hope Geoff's laptop breaks, and he asks someone to fix it!

Yes very silly or just asked the chef to come in and to run it past her first if Geoff does this again

It sounds like even Tim is beginning to question Geoff

eggandonion · 05/09/2020 13:12

I don't think he'd let anyone near it.

Akire · 05/09/2020 15:05

I thought he had set up at least two cameras at start. Then he got rid of the under TV one, I keep thinking someone will find the one by the desk and look on his laptop.

Would the police really not be interested that women claiming to be ex has disappeared and not paying rent or using her bank account. After being seen with someone she had evidence against?

desperatehousewife21 · 05/09/2020 16:42

Wonder why dr Ali has been so quickly written out for 4 months? Reckon he’s shielding in real life?

‘He brought me up and fed me’ was really dire. That reads as tho bringing up kids normally doesn’t include feeding them! Hmm

Akire · 05/09/2020 16:48

In real life if a man brings up a child the bar is set so low maybe feeding is all that is required! Expect in Corrie 90% of children are orphaned and brought up by a single man/father. In fact only child with both parents is Amy and they have been divorced remarried and several other partners in between.

He already left the show long before the pandemic started.

eggandonion · 05/09/2020 17:31

He isn't dead though, where there's life there's hope. I wouldn't like him to have a head transplant.

Powergower · 05/09/2020 17:36

Corrie should have taken a full break like eastenders. The storylines have been dire, Steve and the sausage, gemma and pauls birthday, non-todd money plot, Maria's wedding. Truly truly awful acting and dialogue. I am thoroughly sick of gemma and her entire family. I have zero interest in their lives and problems and they seem to feature heavily (even or covid).

In Corrie land, there’s even hope when they’re dead! Grin

Power I'm inclined to agree with you. It's been a bit weird. Normally Corre is pretty seamless moving from one storyline to another but during the last few months it is just sooooo disjointed. Plots pop up where I'm thinking WTAF are they on about.

It's almost like when they decided to do a 'live' Corrie. You could tell the difference!

Who remembers Crossroads with the walls shaking and the mistimed acting!

eddiemairswife · 05/09/2020 19:02

They need to feature Gemma and family far less frequently. Although it has been a welcome relief not to have seen Ed and his lot recently.

Roussette · 05/09/2020 19:07

Ed and his lot could disappear and no one would say anything!

eggandonion · 05/09/2020 19:14

I had forgotten them, and why are all the kids not back in school? Where is Liam and why isn't Gary helping with Joshua if that's his name? Where is jack, and any other kids, jawseph, hawp, roobeh? I wish phelans daughter and gary child would return.

And Amie Turtle's forgotten lines! Grin
Akire · 05/09/2020 19:28

It’s hard when the time zone is all off key. Normally their time is real time, yet no mention of schools yet or can’t wait for the kids to go back. I thought having stent put in heart was a very quick minor op in and out in a day? Yasmin seems to have been in hospital for 3 weeks. Gary went on honeymoon for a week again about 3 weeks ago.

RAOK · 05/09/2020 23:53

I think they’re behind real life corona as Maggie was having a go at Dev in the shop without a mask on.

nildesparandum · 06/09/2020 00:06

Re the heart stent. My DH had this done years ago and was home the next day. He also had open heart surgery later and was only in hospital for a week afterwards and that included two days in ITU.
Corrie needs to get new medical advisors.
Also they can be very in consistant, Carla's kidney transplant was forgotten about very quickly, she was drinking in the Rovers as soon as she got out, and then her nervous breakdown, the quickest recovery ever

Maggie? I'm confused! I haven't watched yet so don't know who this is!
desperatehousewife21 · 06/09/2020 08:51

Think they meant Cathy!
