Ew shirtless Kyle - compared to the rest of his body his arms are actually tanned Shock

I think the umpires have been very strict with the rules in this tournament!

What has Kyrgios been saying now? Although if he’s been laying into Djok I don’t really mind

Kyle has brought lots of shoes - Sascha needs to take a leaf out of his book

There is talk of the roof coming on - it is possibly raining in Florida but you can’t be too careful (when Djoks playing Confused)

Raahh · 02/09/2020 20:51

I can't say I will miss their annoying toddler-esque chest bumps though.

Raahh · 02/09/2020 20:53

Fizzy well, it has been raining here in Manchester, which must be quite close to the New York area. By a few thousand miles. Can't be too careful. Better get the roof shut now. Hmm

Raahh · 02/09/2020 21:02

I'm starting to think the introducton of the roof was the worst thing to happen in tennis.

It has certainly skewed a few results.

Jourdain11 · 02/09/2020 21:04

I think the gist of it was that he is a great tennis player, but as a human being the less said the better. I think "lacking leadership and humanity" was mentioned!

Raahh · 02/09/2020 21:11

It's alway's difficult to agree with Kyrgios .

Sascha is through.

kazzaD66 · 02/09/2020 21:15

Exactly my thoughts Raahh

I was going to say that it's been raining in Hampshire, so best close the roof, but Manchester works just as well.
You can't be too careful when that pesky rain threatens to come within a few thousand miles of your little tennis match Grin

kazzaD66 · 02/09/2020 21:18

Exactly my thoughts Raahh were regarding the possible closure of the roof, but it also works with your comment about agreeing (or not) with Dick Grin

Fizzywinegum · 02/09/2020 21:19

Yes it is slightly worrying that I seem to be agreeing with Kyrgios more these days

I’m sure I’ll only have to watch him on court for about 5 minutes before he starts annoying me again!

Is this match following the usual pattern of Djok losing the first set and then going on to win the match easily?

PrivateSpidey · 02/09/2020 21:25

Argh Murray v Felix AA is the second night match tomorrow - that's going to be the early hours over here isn't it? I really want to see that one.

kazzaD66 · 02/09/2020 21:25

I see Struff continues the Struffings. He's won in straight sets.

Fizzywinegum · 02/09/2020 21:31

It looks as if the Murray match will be on at about 1.15am tomorrow Spidey - if it’s a long match I might get to see the end!

It’s not going well for Kyle

kazzaD66 · 02/09/2020 21:32

Seriously private Shock
There's no way I'll be staying up for that on a school night!

DS is back to school tomorrow and into the sixth form! Eek! No more school uniform. Smart business wear, so suit or blazer and smart trousers. He's raided DH's wardrobe for ties, which DH no longer needs to wear.
It will be interesting to see what little ensemble he sashays down the stairs in tomorrow morning Grin
What won't be so great is the alarm going off at too early o'clock, after nearly six months of lie ins Shock

JaneJeffer · 02/09/2020 21:32

We have had so much rain that the school got flooded and now DS2 doesn't have to go in until Friday. He's delighted. We are basically next door to New York.

OP posts:
Fizzywinegum · 02/09/2020 21:56

Better get that roof on quick then Jane Grin

Hope your DS has a good first day back at school kazza and selects a suitable outfit Grin

I’m slightly worried as DS2 is going to Turkey tomorrow with a group of his mates. This is his fourth attempt at a holiday this summer - he was all set to go to Zante on Friday until it became Covid-Central Hmm. He keeps telling me that he’s an adult now and not to worry - I’m not entirely convinced!

Fizzywinegum · 02/09/2020 22:05

Djokovic is being very shouty!

Fizzywinegum · 02/09/2020 22:29

Looks as if Djok could be meeting Struff in the next round (unless Kyle pulls off some amazing miracle and turns this match around)

PrivateSpidey · 02/09/2020 22:40

the Struffings
Grin
That really made me laugh. Yes it's looking like Djok is going to end up playing him again doesn't it - surely Struff has a chance to beat him this time?!

Good luck to your DS kazza! Mine went back today. That was a bit of a shock to the system tbh -but it's done him good to see his friends etc.

Jane hope your DS gets back ok eventually as well!

Raahh · 03/09/2020 12:10

It is my granny's 90th birthday today, it has been the cause of all sorts of stress for my mother. My gran lives in an area that was put in local lockdown, told they would be taken out and then put back in at the last minute yesterday(!) so all plans to do anything have been chopped and changed a dozen times. The flats she lives in have also had their own very strict lockdown rules, which haven't helped.

I am having a last minute panic over back to school.

Who goes back to school on a Friday, anyway??!

Raahh · 03/09/2020 16:06
Hmm

I have just settled down to watch, and the match I want to watch (RBA) has no commentary Sad.

So I might watch Muguruza instead for a bit.

Raahh · 03/09/2020 16:58

Oh dear- Muguruza lost the set, (that she was winning comfortably) and well and truly broke her racquet.

Raahh · 03/09/2020 16:59

Pironkova is a mother, by the way.
No one has mentioned it.

PrivateSpidey · 03/09/2020 17:24

Am trying to tune in but just getting a blank screen atm Hmm

Sorry to hear about your Gran's birthday plans Raahh, that sounds v frustrating. Hope something got sorted out. Flowers

Jourdain11 · 03/09/2020 17:34

@Raahh

Pironkova is a mother, by the way. No one has mentioned it.
She needs to start working it into every interview, like Someone Wink
PrivateSpidey · 03/09/2020 17:41

Its finally working. Watching Gasquet v DeMinaur. Gasquet is 2 sets down Sad

I see Pironkova won.
