It doesn't sound like much, for an elite athlete who spends hours exercising. No wonder he always looks a bit peaky (imo).

But he probably spends a lot of time meditating and hugging trees, so that keeps him healthy. Or something.

I wonder how he is going to cope, mentally, now all the ATP/ council stuff is coming out? It really affected him last time (at least, he used the Kermode stuff as the excuse why he lost a few matches at the time).

For someone who craves love and attention, he is really doing a good job this year at attracting negative press.

I see Benoit has tested positive. Old Mama Magi reckons the US Open won't happen. Cancelled at last moment.

DH a lot better - out of bed, sitting up & doing some walking. Still reckon he'll be there at least another week as no where near mobile enough to get home yet.

magi I've just seen that. Presumably Paire has been in the 'bubble' and not been anywhere, like he's meant to- so how did he get it? What worries me, is he withdrew from his first round match in CIncy, where he barely played aganist Coric- that seemed to be a physical injury- but could he have already been ill?

Part of me wants it stopped (to thwart Djok winning mainly). It seems madness to carry on.

I saw that about Paire - I also wondered that about his first round loss in Cincinnati Raahh - was he already ill?

It’s a bit strange how he has got a positive test now after being in the bubble for so long - hopefully there’s not been any rule breaking going on!

I bet the organisers are quite worried.

Fizzy that's why I am confused- I'm sure the players were meant to be in the 'bubble' for a certain length of time before the tournaments started- to prevent exactly this, I imagine. It will be a problem for the organisers.

(I did say Benoit's non-beard covering mask was pointless though- hope he didn't get too close to anyone).

Gasquet and Mannarino are at risk of having to isolate too.

(The draw was already very 'light' in terms of French players anyway- a lot have stayed away).

Nothing much has been said about the French Open has it? I think cases are still rising in France - it’s all a bit of a mess (would love to get a chance to see Rafa play though)

Sad news about Paire. He is always entertaining! There are indeed few other French players in the draw, but I very unpatriotically don't care much.

Can't also get too excited about the women's tournament. None of the current top crop do much for me, I miss when there was a real "top 5" and "top 10" in women's tennis.

I'd actually quite like to see Serena win... which is funny, because I really disliked her in the noughties when she was winning everything! I was a huge Justine Hénin fan and Serena beat her often (and called her "a liar and a fabricator") so...

I even miss the presence of Sharapova, because I enjoyed disliking her

And I'd LOVE it if Andy won. It would be so unexpected... and I like his play and his character, even though he gets grumpy.

It is going to be a strange tournament, for sure, with no crowds and things- though 'Cincy' gave us an idea of how it will be. There will be more use of the show courts though, at the Open, which will feel very different with no -one watching. and eating/talking all the way through

I must admit, the noisy spectators are my biggest bugbear at the US Open.

I think there are quite a few good women around but we don't get to see enough of them! Although they are inconsistent compared to the men but that makes it more interesting.

You won't find much love for Serena on here. Well not from me anyway.
