Can I join? Smile I've just finished series 4, blubbed a fair bit about Susan and Sean, only to read whats happened since and im in despair. Shamelessly got reeled in and believed it was actual love. Damn it

About to start series 5 now so I'll be up to date soon enough i really need to get a life

VinylDetective · 13/08/2020 14:45

Do you know I think Sean and Susan was the real deal. If their lifestyles hadn’t been so incompatible it was a match made in heaven. I was much more upset about them not making it than Simon and Alene. Perhaps I was reeled in too.

LarkDescending · 13/08/2020 14:50

Sidge tonight we are due to see the honeymoon footage for the first six couples:

Sarah & Telv
Tracey & Dean
Alycia & Mathew
Jo & Sean
Davina & Ryan
Charlene & Patrick

Then tomorrow we are back to weddings, with 5 couples yet to be introduced. One of tomorrow’s wedding involves Non Polynesian John from Season 4. (For those who didn’t see Season 4, Non Polynesian John was rejected by Aussie bride Dippy Deb on an Aussie show for being an Aussie bloke. She was obsessed with being matched with a Polynesian Islander, though she’d have accepted Canadian or Texan at a push.)

loobyloo1234 · 13/08/2020 14:52

Susan said some really cutting stuff about wanting to leave halfway through and Sean only being in it for the money though? Confused So disappointed. Loved Simon and Alene also but saw them as more of a mismatch. Both lovely though. I've literally spent 2 hours (im WFH honest) stalking them all on instagram. Not surprised Abandrew yes I read the previous thread has disabled comments on his instagram. Total nob

loobyloo1234 · 13/08/2020 14:56

I might have to fast forward anything involving loud Jo and meek Sean this series. She is SO overwhelming, whew

VinylDetective · 13/08/2020 14:56

You do know you’ve just broken my heart? 💔

DiscoMoo · 13/08/2020 14:57

When did Susan say that?! I am shocked.

loobyloo1234 · 13/08/2020 15:05

Sorry guys - wasn't that already posted? But yes ... quote below:

Susan told news.com.au, “I wanted to leave half way through,” and claimed that Sean was only staying on the show for the money. Married at First Sight participants get paid $200 per day to appear on the show.

Sad
Sidge · 13/08/2020 15:09

@LarkDescending thanks!

DiscoMoo · 13/08/2020 15:14

She didn’t look like she wanted to leave! And Sean seemed genuine. That’s a real shocker. I’m choosing to believe she is saying that with hindsight to make it seem different as I refuse to believe that they didn’t have true feelings for each other...
Thanks for posting it, it may have been on the threads for the previous season which I wasn’t on.

loobyloo1234 · 13/08/2020 15:43

Totally. Unless all of our radars are completely off, they both seemed genuine? Maybe she said it to save face - although that would also be strange. Honestly couldnt wait to get to the end to see their Happily Ever After! Grr. At least I know now not to get too invested this time around

thismeansnothing · 13/08/2020 15:49

@larkdescending aaaah I saw on John's Instagram he was doing the 'experiment' again it just didn't way what season and everytime the 'experts' flick through the pics of the singletons they want to talk about or 'keep coming back to' I never saw his photo.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 13/08/2020 16:31

Did anyone else think that the problem with big Andrew in series 4 wasn't just that he was introverted but also maybe incredibly boring ?

Boring?

He's went to climb EVEREST!

Can you imagine your DH coming home and saying - can you put me up some sammiches while I pack, please, pet - I'm off to climb EVEREST!" Grin

'Course - if he's anything like Mr Schaden he'll do all this stuff and not think to mention it. Like the time he saw a neighbour's bicycle get stolen and jumped in the car and chased the thief down - thief got away but abandoned the bike. Mr Schaden brought it home and gave them it back.

First I knew of it was when the bloke brought him a bottle of wine round to say "thank you". Apparently it "wasn't anything".

He has done similar with a runaway horse and I found out when we met the rider on the dog walk and she thanked him. (Her horse had been startled by a dog, and she had been thrown - she was concussed and someone called an ambulance for her. Mr Schaden apparently put his arms out as the horse galloped towards him (on a narrow path, I might add . . . ) and it slowed and he grabbed the reins and calmed it down and walked it back.

She was in hospital overnight, but when she saw him again a while later thanked him for the help. Her friend had told her "that bloke with all the spaniels" caught her horse.

To be fair, he had told me about this, but not in detail - he just told me he'd held onto a horse for a few minutes when a lass had fallen off - and the only reason he mentioned it was because he was so proud of how well the dogs had behaved "I told them, side and wait and they went to the side and stayed there." I only got the details later off the girls.

BTW - I trained the dogs. ME! all credit is MINE!!! Grin

I agree - you can't feign that degree of erotic obsession without their being at least a spark of lust.

I'm wondering if she denied stuff because a new man in her life didn't like it?

Or an Italian, Lark. She wasn't being difficult at all.

That’s a very good point. I think you’ve got something there.

I think this, too - they couldn't keep their hands off each other. It's a shame she feels the need to change the past, though.

RinderTinderNotRinderGrinder · 13/08/2020 18:32

Schadenfreude, could you please come and train my dogs? I like your dh’s priorities.

Sean and Susan was definitely real. There was that blip in the middle where she said she wanted to call it a day after she saw the farm. I suspect he persuaded her to stay on (and perhaps did give the reason as being for the cash), but I very much doubt she needed much persuading. They were clearly into each other.

I understand it all stopped because some of the events he does with the horses are questionable from an animal welfare POV. Which is something probably quite fundamentally different about them both. I don’t blame her for moving on.

Me? Over invested? Never! IT WAS A LOVE THAT COULDN’T BE, THAT’S ALL!!

So far this year they’ve been much kinder geographically, but much meaner with their matches. I can’t see Sean staying on for long. I hope Dean gets given the boot soon.

Eaumyword · 13/08/2020 18:40

I'm really excited to see the honeymoon footage tonight, to find out which way things are going!
Reality will set in quickly for a few of our couples I think and I fear Sean and Jo will not even be able to have an honest chat and agree ok, we don't click but let's have fun while we're away.

Eaumyword · 13/08/2020 18:46

Meant to say, well done Mr Shaden, super impressed at his gentlemanly skills and also his Spaniel wrangling!
I'm interested to see if Dean turns out to be a sex pest, Rinder? Tracey seems into him, but he seemed pretty 'handsy'....

RinderTinderNotRinderGrinder · 13/08/2020 19:18

Eau, I think you could well be right. He was really touchy before she had made it clear it was okay. At the moment she likes him, but I can see a time when she’s annoyed and he carries on.

I like my men like I like my coffee - hot and only when I’ve made it clear I want one through word or action Grin

Eaumyword · 13/08/2020 19:32
Grin Bloody Mr Eau is in the garage right now. Doesn't he know it's about to start! I'm off to call him in. Eyes down, everyone, the louder we scream, the faster we go! It's the honeymoons! Ooh, he just appeared at the window...
Destinysdaughter · 13/08/2020 19:34

Oh God, the snoring! Well that's a dealbreaker right there...Grin

Destinysdaughter · 13/08/2020 19:40

See, thing is, if you actually knew your wife, you'd know they suffered from motion sickness and would know not to take them on a long whale watching trip on rocky seas! Poor guy, guess he wasn't to know! Poor her too. Yuk.

KrabbyPatties · 13/08/2020 19:43

I’m emotionally spent from season 4... Not ready for season 5 yet.....GrinGrin
