I hope it's bonza that I took the liberty of starting a second thread - just didn't want us gong walkabout in the bush (pardon my Fronch ) if we ran out of the other (whoops did it again!)

Alene looked amazing and her and Simon were utterly adorable.

Who knew Andy had it in him? What a lovely speech, and what a shame his “I don’t want you to change for me” was followed closely by her “you haven’t changed enough for me”.

Alene’s friend really holds her back from happiness. I think it comes from a good place, but she’s relentlessly negative about Alene’s choices and that takes its toll.

Simon’s friend is lovely.

Oh and Tommo was back with his great passion for Andy.

You can constructively criticise and you can destructively criticise, and Alene and Andy’s friendships are of the destructive type. It’s like when someone points out something about someone and then you just can’t help notice it every time it happened. It didn’t bother you until it was pointed out, but now it seems huge.

Looking forward to lots of whining about how much effort the twins have put into making their decision. Sharon and Nick will definitely go for it. None of them should, and I have no clue if Michelle will say yes just to not let Sharon win or not.

I hope the update programme (if we get to see it) includes information on their friendships eg After watching back, Andy has taken out a restraining order on Tommo, entered the witness protection scheme and fled the country. Alene collected all the bill wallets, filled them with cards saying 'I LEAVE this friendship non-smiley face emoji' and posted them all through her 'friend's' door.

Just watched it. I'm a little bit in love with Alene and Simon, they are just so cute together. I really hope it works out for them.

I'm really not sure about Andy and Vanessa.

The other thing with Anthony's job - if he can only work at that racecourse, then he could fly back once a week to do so. Racing isn't year-round and when it's the racing calendar, it tends to be once a week with an occasional midweek meet. It wouldn't be nearly as impossible to work around as he seems to be making it out to be

If Andy does properly marry Vanessa (or anyone other than Tommo) she will have the knives into his spouse before they have signed the register.

Andy's horrible mother will cause more trouble between them over the years than any of us can possibly imagine (and I can imagine a LOT!).

She will get sly digs in at every opportunity, make insinuations that Vanessa is flirting with Andy's friends, ring the social services anonymously to say she's neglecting the children . . . she will smile and smile and be a villain.

She will be the sort of evil MIL who inspires millions of threads on MN. Vanessa will be posting every weekend. She'll refuse to reveal the 'complicated backstory of how her and her DH met' as every second poster insists she has to reveal it because it might justify why her MIL stole her DCs; moved into her house and signed her up for a 'perfect housewives keep their mouths shut' course.

DH have watched the whole series together. We both thought Vanessa's speech was horrid but had to chuckle when we thought back to the speech the vicar made at our wedding. He told our guests that this wedding will represent our marriage... they have walked up the aisle, stood before the alter and then sang a hymn. It sums it up 'I'll alter him!' I am not sure he would get away with it nowadays but 26 years ago it was funny and something we remember about the day when most of it was a blur.

Thing is, they've basically had a holiday romance and not had to face the normal, mundane day to.day issues couples face so despite the stupid experts' tests, they have no.idea how their relationships would work in the real world.

And it was interesting that many of them started having doubts when they went to stay with their partners in their actual lives...

Yes I guess it’s easy to live in a swish apartment all expenses paid than real life..

Oh Jesse and his door mantra!

Just watching the strop Shazza pulled when she found out Mis had "friended" Nick on some social media or other, I thought "Hell's Bells1" what a drama llama!

I had also completely forgotten about Jesse going for aa poo while Michelle was in the bathroom - that was disgusting! There's no way I could have overlooked that.

I think Mish has had Jesse up to her back teeth, but is also torn at the thought of Shazza having a relationship when she hasn't . . . why not give Abandrew a call, Mish? After all, you were very sure about what a great bloke he is . . .

Michelle looks much nicer in that long dress than Shazza did in there mini - but her shoes are about three sizes too big!

Shazza’s vows were horrible, clearly designed to keep Nick on his feet. The difference between their ceremony and Simon and Alene‘s is huge; there the love and affection for each other shined out of them.

It would be hilarious if Michelle turned up to the reunion dinner all loved-up with Abandrew. At which point the experts would no doubt decide it was a perfect moment to dig out that “boys’ night” tape to show the group.

Agree, Lark, the sun was bobbing up and down like a yoyo.

Poor old Jess, he was really nice to her about it.

Jesse was a perfect gentleman while Michelle was tearing his heart out and stomping on it. I know he’s a weird gorilla-style eating, Slovakia body swap story telling, giant man-toddler, but I think he’s a real sweetheart and should definitely try to get together with that blonde girl who worked on the fish counter or whatever at the Adelaide market and clearly fancied him.

I feel like the producers were trying to make Nick and Shazza the big love story of this series, but they were quietly suckerpunched by the authentic and unshowy Alene and Simon romance, which is what viewers really want to see, not two model types grinding in a Thai hot tub.

Have watched the programme but just found these great threads - both of them .

Agreed about the continuity between daylight and sunset - they probably took all day and into the night to film the speeches , then just cobbled them together at the end of a very long day . Unless of course it was some director’s idea of ‘atmosphere’ along with the accompanying crashing orchestra .

Also , at one point , Jesse’s pocket handkerchief changed sides .

Well finally after all the gut examination and following of hearts we get to the nitty gritty. Wow, Nick’s speech was very romantic only to be brought right back down by Shazza’s very unromantic one. I really felt for him.
Jesse really showed what a nice guy he is by reaching out when he was being dumped. He deserves someone who adores him and I’m sure he’ll get plenty of offers. Glad she came clean...finally.
