Hello All.

I hope it's bonza that I took the liberty of starting a second thread - just didn't want us gong walkabout in the bush (pardon my Fronch Grin) if we ran out of the other (whoops did it again!)

Simon is just adorable. I want nothing but happiness for both of them. Oh god, I’ve just remembered the experts saying something about pairing them because of his medical issues and her being in nursing! A ridiculous reason, but it’s led to some really sweet moments.

I just hope that if it doesn’t work out that Simon doesn’t get defensive and go back into his box. Alene will be okay either way. I think she’s probably the one person where I can’t really understand why she’s single. She’s so bubbly and outgoing.

RinderTinderNotRinderGrinder · 28/07/2020 10:05

We still don’t know. Bullshit will be revealed later I guess

willselfdestructin10seconds · 28/07/2020 10:12

Is it just me or did Jesse look damn hot in his captain's hat? Poor sod is obviously going to get 'the door' slammed in his face very soon though!

RinderTinderNotRinderGrinder · 28/07/2020 10:13

I really struggle to see Jesse as a grown up Grin

Lardlizard · 28/07/2020 10:38

That episode was just a recap really !! Waste of time !!

finished31 · 28/07/2020 11:53

Love Jesse tattoo and passion for LFC

Not much else to say other than he deserves better. I think Michelle needs approval from Shazza and until it's granted she won't commit.

I agree, Jesse very much comes across as a boy. A lovely one, but most definitely a boy. Nick does too to a large extent.

Momniscient · 28/07/2020 12:25

I don't think Spoony is autistic based on what we've seen on MAFS. If he is, he's definitely not bothered by auditory sensory overload judging by his job and the way he watches the races on his phone at full excruciating volume! He's never been shown to be overloaded either (like with the dinners, etc), so I'm not convinced there. The whole "autism = no empathy" this is rarely true. I think he's just a controlling, selfish arse. Obviously, huge caveat of the "everyone displays it differently" type, but I'm sceptical.

I'm behind watching the episodes, but to be honest I'm glad to have this thread that summarises what I've been missing! Better than the episodes themselves, sometimes. It's nice reading the thread and being prepared for nonsense and being able to skip past it thinking "oh this is the bit they were all raving about. Excellent. Fast-forward for me!"

RinderTinderNotRinderGrinder · 28/07/2020 12:34

I agree Momniscient. Autistic people’s need for routine and knowing what’s going to be happen can be mistaken for controlling, but the roots are very different and I’m not seeing that here.

Deep down I hope even the awful ones watch it back and learn something from it all. The problem with being an arse is you never get to see things from the other side. Sadly I suspect they’ll just say “the way they cut it together makes it look much worse than it is!” and dismiss it all.

Funny enough I don’t think you could cut all my years of marriage together to make it look like I called him frigid or told him he needed to aim higher or it would be a problem for me.

RinderTinderNotRinderGrinder · 28/07/2020 13:28

So will we find out tonight who goes through with it or will this be another non-event episode.

Basically we are all just living for the moment when Nadia says no to Anthony, aren’t we? If we don’t get that (and we probably wont) this is going to feel like a very disappointing end to the story.

wailedAndNearlyLevitated · 28/07/2020 13:40

I’m very late to these threads, and have so much to say, but still laughing at “Slovaaakiaa” Grin

WorryWartOne · 28/07/2020 14:14

@LunchBoxPolice

If I’ve learnt anything from this show it is that men play netball.
Hahaha perfect comment - me too 🤣
WorryWartOne · 28/07/2020 14:21

@RinderTinderNotRinderGrinder

Oh Andy “there’s not much more to me”

I’m loving the dramatic music over Andy doing nothing and saying little. He’s not bringing the drama guys. He’s not about drama.

I know 🤦🏻‍♀️ If you yourself can earnestly state you’ve nothing else to bring to the table... 🤦🏻‍♀️

I guess the dramatic music was to try to obfuscate the fact that this is Andy and Vanessa’s 436th date involving a picnic, crossed legs, and the soul-crushing realisation for Vanessa that Andy is sitting there with the Magic Roundabout theme on a loop in his head.

1984andout · 28/07/2020 14:29

Yes the music is like a parody. It's really out of place with Andy and Vanessa.

WorryWartOne · 28/07/2020 14:30

@Joans3rddaughter

I do keep thinking about poor Jessilla shoving his food in looking like a gorilla
I’m loving Jessilla, dunno why but it suits him 😂 Good Gorilla and Godzilla connotations

😂😂😂😂

Sertchgi123 · 28/07/2020 15:50

Whilst I feel sorry for Jesse, he'll be so much better off out of it with those awful twins.

I also feel sorry for Andy. I'm annoyed with this show, as they are implying that extroverts are good and introverts are bad and there is a suggestion that introverts somehow need changing towards being more extrovert. Utter tosh!

Do we think that Susan will become a farm girl? I hope so.

Loving Simon and Alene.

As others have said Nadia needs to run for the hills.

Cherylina · 28/07/2020 15:55

Nah, I reckon Nadia will hang on and will then get dumped the next day! If she was going to walk away she would have done it at any of the previous occasions where Spoony has shown himself to be rude, misogynist, nasty, short-tempered, patronising, etc...

WorryWartOne · 28/07/2020 16:45

I don’t think Andy is just introverted though. I have loads of introvert friends and they have just as many insightful and funny things to say as extroverts. They usually just take fewer words to say it 😆

I think Vanessa is right, as long as she’s not a spiteful or nasty person and is passably attractive, she could be anyone to Andy. He would’ve reacted the same to any number of ‘nice enough’ women. I would be tearing my hair out chatting to someone who only speaks to reply to my questions, and blandly at that. He can take his mama’s muffins and jog on IMO as he’s a BIG DULL DUD 🤣

*Disclaimer Unpopular opinion I know

So doI.

Think Sponny won't "release" here until HE is ready - I suspect he'll switch to a charm offensive, and when she finally thinks "Well actually, maybe he's ok just a bit set in his old-fashioned protector cave-man ways, and he thinks it will hit her hard, he'll drop her like a ton of bricks!
Probably ghost her and tell everyone who's willing to stand him a pint what a frigid bitch she was but how he broke through her reserves and she got obsessed with him, but couldn't put up with her drama.

He's really awful.

Re: Big Andy - I think, like Jesse, that there is something "not quite right" about him, and I suspect the head injury he had has something to do with it. I don't think he'll ever have been a big talker, but he seems to take a long time to process what is happening around him.

I think that he and Vanessa a both very lovely people, but shouldn't have been paired, as this has made it hard work for both of them.

Who comes out of this well?

Simon (be still my heart) and Alene - really lovely couple. Good chance of staying together.

Sean and Susan - also lovely. Less likely to make a go of it because of lifestyle as well as distance, but I could see them having very happy memories of their relationship, and perhaps staying good (long-distance) friends.

Most likely to cash in?

Twins.

Spooney.
