I’m enjoying it currently. I like Alec a lot. In fact I like most characters.
I think that Becky is written a bit too immature even for 14 (although I like the actress) and I don’t understand why ordinary, slightly grouchy Fiona is set up as this alluring goddess (her strengths are her work ethic and her bravery in buying the salon at 20, not charisma or beauty) but apart from that I really like it.
Jamie is incredibly well acted. I can see why the actor’s career endured.
I think that Tricia is great too, so believable as a rundown single parent on the poverty line - but the actress changed direction and is enjoying a successful political career now, of course. Multi-talented!
Alma’s unrequited crush on Stephen is written/acted so well. Really nuanced and sympathetic. Mike doesn’t take it seriously.
