Fiona has some lovely clothes. Maxine and Ashley are sweet together.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 20/01/2021 15:19

I loved the jungle-type print dress she had on yesterday.

Angie does a very good Des impression Grin

eggandonion · 20/01/2021 16:34

There's a good group of twenty somethings just then. I'm not liking Judy though.

eggandonion · 21/01/2021 17:32

Go away Judy, leave Zoe alone. Poor Maud. What miserable people today.

x2boys · 21/01/2021 18:38

Apart from Leanne she cheered me up with her Spice girls rendition.

justthecat · 21/01/2021 19:31

Yh she made me laugh, made up for topless Les yesterday 🙈

StillCoughingandLaughing · 21/01/2021 19:37

I could have done without Audrey lusting over topless Les. I know Alf was no prize in that department, but come on Audrey!

x2boys · 21/01/2021 19:44

I know ,bloody Les!

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 22/01/2021 13:51

I'm gradually falling out of love with Classic Corrie.

People are suddenly so argumentative, or just being unnecessarily rude to each other.

Some characters seem to have had personality transplants, and the plotlines are becoming ever more ridiculous.

I remember now why I stopped watching in the late 90s.

It just such a shame.

x2boys · 22/01/2021 14:18

Yes it's a shame they can stick to normal storylines that everyone enjoys rather than unrealistic sensational storylines

x2boys · 22/01/2021 14:18

Can,t *

Redglitter · 22/01/2021 14:55

I'm finding that I'm fast forwarding more and more these days. Cant stand watching anything to do with the Battersbys

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 22/01/2021 16:08

Yes! Me too with the fast-forwarding.

Maud would never have been so nasty about Sally.

I bet a lot of the cast members hated having to say their lines.

Brian Park has a lot to answer for, in my opinion.

Just because EastEnders was abrasive and shouty - it shouldn't have meant that Corrie had to go the same way.

I'll never forgive him!

Liverbird77 · 22/01/2021 17:11

I thought that too about Maud. She was always really wise and kind under the abrasive veneer. It was out of character.

I can't stand the Battersbys.
Percy will leave soon and will be missed.

I'm in for the Weatherfield One storyline, but may stop watching soon after that.

cherrytree63 · 24/01/2021 07:08

I also fast forward through the Battersbys, I don't think it's been the same since Bet left.
Classic Emmerdale has gone the same way, it's all plotting and silly kid stuff. And the way the set has changed really annoys me Grin

eggandonion · 24/01/2021 10:24

I'm waiting for sally to take revenge on Natalie, in case I have false memories of that.

FanOfTheCheese · 24/01/2021 15:52

I can’t remember any revenge beside the slap.
I don’t think I can really remember Kevin living at Natalie’s either.
I’m fast forwarding much more now too. I like sally/Kevin storyline and Fiona wedding but not much else at the mo

Liverbird77 · 25/01/2021 11:40

Aside from the upcoming Deidre storyline, I am looking forward to Fiona's wedding and Jim McDonald's memorable "I love you Fie-owner"

FromDespairToHere · 26/01/2021 12:44

I'm just getting caught up and I totally agree how out of character she was with Sally. I seem to remember dipping in and out at this point in the late 90s, it wasn't the "must see" that it had been for the decade prior.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 26/01/2021 15:22

Audrey’s gossiping is coming across as a bit malicious at the moment too. She was always a gossip, but they’re portraying her as a deliberate stirrer at the moment.

eggandonion · 26/01/2021 20:34

She's bored, so stirs things up. My mother in law loves that.

eggandonion · 27/01/2021 15:14

Was this the era when pigging was first used as a swear word.
Wee Des, all loved up

GreenClock · 27/01/2021 23:09

The quality has declined. It’s noticeable. Maud’s spite towards Sally, Audrey’s malice - so unrealistic. The Battersbys have no nuance at the moment but I think they improve iirc.

Fred Elliot is always good value, Alec too.

Jack’s attitude to Vera is dismissive and unpleasant. I’m uncomfortable watching it.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 28/01/2021 11:37

There had been a big push to move away from ‘Cosy Corrie’ and I think the writers were struggling to adapt. Although Toyah naming her dogs - particularly her ‘bull mah-stiff’ - was a great moment Grin

eggandonion · 28/01/2021 15:26

The till is down £4.99!!!!! Deirdre, that man is a wrong'un. That Natalie is a nasty piece of work.
