I can't, for the life of me, understand why Martin bought Curly's car 'for Gail'.

I've never seen her drive any car in all of the last forty-odd years!

And where would she go anyway? To the cafe and back?

The Platts aren't exactly flush with money, so two lots of car tax and insurance makes absolutely no sense at all.

Does anyone ever remember seeing Gail driving a car?

What was all that about Martin wrapping a bottle of after shave ?

Was it to give to Don, he said he still had something under the tree when Our Ashley turned up. I think they had a bottle of whiskey for him.

Actor playing Don is fantastic those Xmas eve/day scenes were so well done. So subtle, the facial expressions, reactions to each other just so real to life. Not like the panto acting in today’s version.

He was a RADA grad I think. Proper actor

I agree. I really feel for don at the minute. Usually he annoys the crap out of me. But the actor is brilliant.

Mike Baldwin is also a good actor ,he's throughley obnoxious but completely believable .

I agree that Don's scenes were excellent. It makes a welcome change from Liz screeching at various men/love interests and Curly suddenly having turned into an unlikely Lothario.

Oh ,I'm getting bored of Liz and her love life and Jim's rambling ,I did find Curly as a lothario amusing though 😂

I don’t know if anyone else is feeling it, but I’ve really noticed the change in pace from the addition of the fourth episode (which happened around the time Racquel left). Things seem to progress more slowly.

Yes definitely ,the storyline,s seem a bit more dragged out .

Also, is anyone else wondering why modern day Kevin and Debbie have never shown an interest in ‘our Carl’?

Well tbf Bill doesn't show much of an interest in him in CC and he didn't see Kev for 10 years Has Kev even met Carl?,but now you have mentioned it modern Corrie might introduce Carl Webster now🤣

Would Carl have to be a criminal? Most modern men are.

Just started watching CC again after missing loads of episodes, can anyone sum up the situation with Don Brennan & Mike Baldwin?

Mike sold the garage to Don for more than it was worth ,he had purposely left an over valuation on his desk and Josie saw it ,Don and Josie put all their money into the garage most of the equipment was on its last legs and they ended up putting more money into it ,the garage went bust and Don and Josie split up kev and Tony bought the garage for much less than Don and Josie had ,Don blames everyone for his misfortune but mainly Mike ,Don had been drinking after a row with Gail and Martin about Xmas day ,and went out in his taxi and was supposed to be picking Mike up ,but got into a row with him and the police happened to be passing and breathalysed him so he's lost his licence too ,he tried killing himself on Xmas eve in the garage but was found by Martin and Kev,but had left and angry voicemail on Mike's phone and sent Alma a letter telling how terrible Mike is ,I think that's about the jist of it
