E4 have been showing it in the evenings and you can watch all the seasons online on their catch up.

Oh the nostalgia.

I forgot how much I shipped Xander and willow!
Also, it really makes me wish I had friendhips like buffy does.

Who did you guys ship?
Oh and Angel, Spike or Reilly for buffy?
I'm team spike lol.

I think drewcilla was my favourite character of all, think she is just a great female villain.

OP posts:

I'm going to try to AirPlay onto my sky q box tonight as viewing on my tv at times would be preferable!

@swimkiwipanda

Another fave Angel quote:

"Nothing in the world is as the way it ought to be. It's harsh and cruel. But that's why there's us. Champions. Doesn't matter where we've come from. What we've done. Or suffered. Or even if we make an difference. We live as if the world were as it should be. To show it what it can be."

On paper, the whole Jasmine story line in Angel is just the wierdest thing ever. Very dystopian. And the Connor/Cordelia wierd relationship. But somehow it worked. Although I was a bit gutted Cordy left and we didn't get to see her again.

This is the best Angel quote:

Angel : Well, I guess I kinda worked it out. If there's no great glorious end to all this, if nothing we do matters... , then all that matters is what we do. 'Cause that's all there is. What we do. Now. Today. I fought for so long, for redemption, for a reward, and finally just to beat the other guy, but I never got it.
Kate Lockley : And now you do?
Angel : Not all of it. All I wanna do is help. I wanna help because, I don't think people should suffer as they do. Because, if there's no bigger meaning, then the smallest act of kindness is the greatest thing in the world.

Charisma Carpenter was treated so badly by Joss Whedon. He basically punished her for getting pregnant Sad

I thought Joss was such a feminist ally when I was younger, and then I read the story about how he treated Charisma, and screwed around on his wife, and I don't think I've ever felt so disappointed in a celebrity...

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 09/08/2020 15:21

Season 7 and the potential slayers with the intresting accents...

frankiefirstyear · 09/08/2020 21:12

Just watched the musical episode 🤣

burnoutbabe · 09/08/2020 21:22

I am rewatching, but behind so got last 2 of season 2 to watch next.
Would also like to see angel but it's not included in any package I have right now, shame,

purpleme12 · 09/08/2020 21:28

I only watched some of Angel when it was on. Nowhere near as good as Buffy
But I feel like I want to watch it now after all this talk!

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 09/08/2020 21:31

Didn't mind Angel though season 4 was a mess..

swimkiwipanda · 10/08/2020 09:45

@TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross Great quote.

The whole atonement theme kinda made me feel better about my failings lol.

swimkiwipanda · 10/08/2020 09:54

Lilah and that cop (did she die?) are undersung imho, both really good. Also Faith. Fred was kind of annoying as Fred but as Illyria she was really good. Cool she got to play two different characters. I actually really liked Harmony, just good old Harmony, in Angel, especially that episode Harms Way.

Also quite liked all the Angel/Spike flashbacks in Angel, it kind of needed them although must admit I fast forwarded some as it was such a different pace.

What else did I love, Dennis the ghost.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 10/08/2020 13:56

What else did I love, Dennis the ghost.

I was absurdly upset with how Dennis was just abandoned by the gang when Cordy left her apartment. He was such a great roommate.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 10/08/2020 13:57

Lindsey is one of my favourite Buffyverse characters. He's so complex.

AliceinBunnyland · 10/08/2020 13:59

Good news Buffy is back but "shipped"?

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 10/08/2020 17:47

"Shipped" is an online term to describe relationships in TV programmes/films you love, or, more commonly, a relationship that doesn't exist but you would love to see.

In Buffy, this tends to focus on those who ship Buffy/Angel and those who ship Buffy/Spike. One of the biggest groups ever though is the group of fans that ship Dean and Castiel in Supernatural Grin

Jackparlabane · 10/08/2020 18:04

I watched both halves of Becoming (S2 finale) the other night. They're all so young, Angel's Oirish accent is terrible, but it all still holds up. I have all the DVDs so may treat myself to a rewatch soon - I've only seen s5 and 7 once.

I got dumped one evening by someone I'd hoped to stay with forever, and they suggested watching that night's Buffy before I went home.
It was The Body.
I cried for a week.

swimkiwipanda · 10/08/2020 18:16

I really liked Lindsey too. I was kind of upset he didn't make the final showdown fight.

frankiefirstyear · 10/08/2020 21:19

Must say I'm hating the Buffy/Spike relationship toxicity

Binglebong · 10/08/2020 23:05

I'm sulking because you've all got me wanting to watch Angel but I'm on sky so can't. Sad

swimkiwipanda · 10/08/2020 23:11

I bought it on Prime, it was about 12-13 pounds a season, watched on my phone.

frankiefirstyear · 11/08/2020 07:09

I'm on sky too and no way can I afford another subscription. Shame it's not on demand somewhere for free 😔

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 11/08/2020 08:04

If you have Amazon Prime, it's included with your subscription on Prime Video - so £79 for the year.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 11/08/2020 08:06

Sorry, I misread - it's Buffy that's included with Prime but Angel isn't Sad

We have the dvds - advantage of still being old-school!

AliceinBunnyland · 11/08/2020 08:13

I thought OP said it was on 4OD, which is free

burnoutbabe · 11/08/2020 08:15

Buffy is on 4od
Angel is only on prime, for an extra cost.
My mum has angel all on tape. VHS!!! (Though season 4:5 are on dvd if I am okay to miss the rest)

frankiefirstyear · 11/08/2020 16:14

Riley and Buffy. Ship.
