Tonight's was a bit heavy on the snot'n'tears, wasn't it? If anyone can devise a way of Fletch responding quickly and successfully to his treatment and stopping Essie thinking that she should be able to carry on life as normal whilst she's undergoing chemo, please implement your plan ASAP.

Medani's torso was the only redeeming feature of this episode. I've no idea what the pills he bought were - any ideas?

Me on Wednesday afternoon: waahhhhhhh they can't cancel Holby"

Are you me - exactly the same Grin

I'd prefer it if Casualty went instead, I gave up on that a month or so ago.

Well, sadly it's probably about time.

When I first saw the post up here from the BBC I thought in the link it said mediocre - turned out to be media centre but I think mediocre I'd kind of apt.

Too many silly storylines (why on earth would Dom have got that promotion) and too much repetition (here comes another crazy stalker bloke).

SophieB100 · 02/06/2021 19:17

BBC have confirmed that they are keeping Casualty.
(Never mind).

ThornAmongstRoses · 02/06/2021 20:58

Just caught up on last night’s episode.

Do you think doctors/nurse/people actually go and have quickies in the ‘On Call’ room?!

Gladimnotcampinginthisweather · 02/06/2021 21:08

Jolly well hope not!

I haven’t watched the last few episodes as its lost it spark but that doesn’t mean I want them to cancel it.

Maybe they will bring back Michael Spence and Serena to say goodbye.

whatsthestory123 · 02/06/2021 22:08

same as others cull Casualty and put all efforts in to Holby

ThornAmongstRoses · 02/06/2021 22:41

God I fancied him so much!!!

My favourite ever episode was when a teenage boy was dying and his mum wouldn't come see him because she was at home with his younger siblings and had gone all weird about his illness. He drew a picture of Avalon I think and Michael Spence was with him up to the end. It was so beautiful.
spongedog · 03/06/2021 01:41

Oh. Just coming on here to see if anyone was going to do anything about the cancellation. Guess not!

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 03/06/2021 08:17

I wonder whether the character who played Jac saw the writing on the wall? I wouldn't be surprised if a few characters weren't assimilated into Holby City but who?

As long as HH gets a happy(ish) ever after and Louis finds love, I don't really care about most of the others. Well, Sacha but will we see him again?

I'm gutted. I love Holby, DH and I have watched it from the beginning and it's one of the few programmes we both like 🙁. Does anyone have a link to the petition?

HH could carry on in Casualty but depends if the actor is happy to relocate I guess. Same for Fletch.

I'm hoping Nikki comes back and they tie up the Nikous storyline and her and Louis are a couple when it ends.

Wonder if it'll go out with a bang or a pffff. Louis cuddling the baby, Fletch walking off hand in hand with Angel from Bad Girls, Dom and Sacha having a drink and a proper laugh together, Xavier's brother coming back for Donna etc

I love the program and it's my Tuesday night treat but in all honesty I feel like it's had it's time!! Very few characters are interesting now and they've struggled for decent storylines for a year or so. I just hope I get to see Rosie Marcel in something else soon......love her!!
NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 03/06/2021 09:31

HH could be the new clinical lead in Casualty BUT wouldn't that be demotion effectively?

It would be lovely if it does go out with a bang (but not literally). I guess real life wouldn't give all the characters a 'happy ever after' but yes, nice to tie up loose ends.

I wonder how long the writing team have known that the end is nigh? Just thinking about whether some of the 'this is the end' storylines are already in play?

SleepingStandingUp · 03/06/2021 09:34

HH is CEO of the hospital, they just only have him in Holby as they're not filmed near each other

SophieB100 · 03/06/2021 13:59

I will watch Casualty again if they put Rose Marcel in there as Jac to sort the buggers out! Otherwise, meh.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 03/06/2021 14:40

There would be a 'neatness' to having Jac taking over Connie B's role in Casualty don't you think? But doesn't seem likely given that she gave up Holby City to spend more time with her family.

SophieB100 · 03/06/2021 14:48

Yes I agree @NewModelArmyMayhem18, it would work well. After all, Connie started in Holby (remember the first episode she was in - had Ric on her desk!! Grin) But as you say sadly unlikely, given the reasons for RM leaving Holby. I loved Jac! When I have to "deal" with issues at work, I channel my inner Jac!

SleepingStandingUp · 03/06/2021 22:01

Catching up.
My money is on Jeni running a prostitute ring with very handsy clients. Poor Fletch, he never picks the right one.

SophieB100 · 04/06/2021 06:01

Oh good call @SleepingStandingUp, I hadn't thought of that.
Perhaps they'll give Fletch a happy ending before they axe it - about time. Poor bugger.

Fletch and Jac ride off into the sunset. Just in case the script writers are reading this thread.
