i am not a big fan of Elvis.....................

Raahh · 28/05/2020 12:36

Jane Ilove the names- but Sainsbury's dropped the ball when they called their's Wiggles!

Fizzywinegum · 28/05/2020 12:41
Grin

I’ve had Colin from M&S and Clyde from Asda - you definitely need to try Cuthbert from Aldi Raahh - just for research purposes Grin

JaneJeffer · 28/05/2020 16:30

You get around a bit Fizzy

Fizzywinegum · 28/05/2020 17:34

Shock Grin yes I suppose anyone reading that might wonder what I’d been up to! I’ll leave Cuthbert for Raahh Grin

Raahh · 28/05/2020 18:29

Cheers, Fizzy

I'll let you know Wink

PrivateSpidey · 29/05/2020 08:52

Grin enjoyed the caterpillar cake chat - I had no idea there were so many options!

magi that is a very random dream Grin love it. I like a bit of Elvis. I wanted my mum and dad to call my DSis Elvis when she was born but they unkindly refused Shock

I'm just watching BBC Breakfast and they are going on about sport "returning" Hmm by which they mean football and possibly, they are saying, cricket. Huh. I am pleased about football to be fair, but it's going to be so annoying with everyone wittering about football when Wimbledon remains cancelled!! Sad

Fizzy the podcast has been so good hasn't it. I enjoyed the Michael Chang episode and his explanation of the underarm serve!

Raahh · 29/05/2020 09:01

Spidey Dh was on a group meeting with the local football league, to find out when they might be getting back to normal. Prior to this, his team had designed new kit, and the girls were on course to win the division. He is desperate to get playing again.

To be honest, if it gets him out from under my feet for a couple of hours, I'll be glad when it does re-start Grin.

I think once the end of June/July comes round, it will really hit me how long it has been since we saw any tennis- Melbourne is starting to feel like another lifetime. One when I knew what day of the week it was Grin.

PrivateSpidey · 29/05/2020 09:16

Yes totally Raahh - I am pleased it's coming back as well - basically I'm just jealous Envy Grin

I know what you mean about Melbourne. I saw a photo online somewhere where someone had made an Aus Open photo black and white, and captioned it something like "many years ago when we had grand slam tennis" Grin

Fizzywinegum · 29/05/2020 09:19

Spidey yes the podcast has been really good - even better than when there’s real tennis to talk about Grin. It’s been a real nostalgia trip for me - I do feel old when Matt and sometimes Catherine haven’t been born at the time of the matches they’re talking about though Shock

I saw them on Breakfast telly talking about the return of sport - think it will really hit me when it’s Wimbledon time Sad (I’m not really fussed about footy and cricket)

My DH and DS usually play football every week - I was thinking last night that I’ve not really watched any TV that I like for ages (apart from Sewing Bee) because I’m never really on my own - I need some alone time!

Fizzywinegum · 29/05/2020 13:41

Looks good thanks magi - see we said we would get excited about watching Kyle Edmund and Dan Evans playing each other Grin

It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

JaneJeffer · 29/05/2020 14:33

Oh I need to get that bet on Dan! It's getting to the stage where I'm even more unsure which tennis universe is the real one.

The worlds do seem to keep colliding don’t they Jane?

You need to be really worried if you find yourself outside the O2 arena waiting to meet a bunch of women you’ve never met before (and Elvis is still alive!) Grin

JaneJeffer · 29/05/2020 16:15

Grin nothing would surprise me these days!

School's out forever summer. I have no idea what will happen in September.

Seems an odd thing to put, if he isn't, Jane. Or even if he is, to be honest. Maybe it's another lost in translation moment .

JaneJeffer · 30/05/2020 22:12

Benoit has pink hair now!

OP posts:
Raahh · 31/05/2020 10:07

It certainly is pink, Jane .

Grin
kazzaD66 · 31/05/2020 13:23

Good grief!!! You certainly wouldn't miss him in a crowded room (remember those days.....?!). I prefer the white blonde look though. Perhaps he could dye his beard aswell. Now, that would be a look Grin

Meanwhile, Stan is still barbecuing Wink

Fizzywinegum · 31/05/2020 14:47

Good old Stan - although not quite sure what he’s BBQing - looks like a massive kebab Grin

We’re supposed to be having a BBQ later but it keeps going a bit cloudy Hmm. I wonder if I can persuade DH to do a suggestive burger face Grin

Raahh · 31/05/2020 14:55

We are having a BBQ too- it did go cloudy for a bit, but it seems to have cleared again.

At least the dog is happy- successful trip to the groomer yesterday- and although she had to take his body and legs short (he was very fluffy), at least facially now he looks like a schnauzer Grin.

PrivateSpidey · 31/05/2020 16:19

Good luck with the suggestive BBQs everyone Grin

I'm just watching Stan on TV - the Wimbledon channel is replaying his QF v Gasquet from 2015. Great match, especially for single-handed backhand fangirls.

The commentary is annoying me already (it's not even AC!).

What with this and the podcast, I'm living for nostalgia ATM.
