What crap are your DC obsessed with on you tube?

rosybell · 01/05/2020 07:52

Ok, so my DC are 6 & 8 and simply will not watch anything other than you tube. Mainly Unspeakable (kind of harmless but annoying American prankster guy) plus just watching people like Stampy/Preston/Jelly play computer games , eg minecraft.

Its driving me mad, so every other day you tube is banned but this just leads to moaning and fuss, so I find myself feeling glad when it's a you tube day just for the peace!

So, I'm looking for tips on good TV shows to help my DC get back into stories or just watching something that takes a bit of investment and concentration. Have had some success with Steve Backshall deadly 60/ Henry Danger/ walking with dinosaurs.

Ugh. Norris nuts, sis vs bro, the lebrant family, weird slimy asmr (?) stuff.

I’ve banned the ones where they buy or break things for entertainment. I can’t stand it. I’m so wasteful and selfish.

Yesterday they showed me a channel with multiple videos of a woman emptying make up into slime. Hundreds of pounds of waste.

I don’t mind some of the craft ones and have a soft spot for moriah Elizabeth.

Ryan toys review - DS came upon a video recently of an app game they made, my life is now being made hell with either 'let's play tag with Ryan in real life' or 'you know mummy, tag with Ryan is available on Google play or the Apple app store'. He's 4! And I'm not downloading it because he'll end up just making me play it to get a high score.

Also Kids Learning Tube - knows everything there is to know about: Space/planets, the human body, continents, countries, I could go on for days tbh. Winds me up all with the annoyingly catchy songs but tbh at least that's educational - Ryan does my fucking head in!

Slime rancher stuff

Dan to the m? Is that the right name?

Colin's key

And all that shit

SarahTancredi · 02/05/2020 00:39

Stampy

nymrgn · 02/05/2020 00:54

Do you have Netflix or Disney + ? Netflix has a kids section which is great and you don't have to worry about them stumbling across something inappropriate.
For Youtube:
Family Fizz, Craft videos & Dance videos

Shmithecat2 · 02/05/2020 01:05

Ryan's Family Review, T Rex Ranch/Toy Lab TV, and most recently, Vlad and Nikita. 😱

Can any fellow YouTube sufferers explain

Is it yate? Yeat? Yeet? Whatever it is? What is it ? What does it mean and y Is my 9 yr old saying it?

Morgan12 · 03/05/2020 12:04

Yep all the gamers here too. Mrtop5 is the worst though. His bloody voice! And he says 'Oh My Gosh' about 13567 times each video.

It's all good though because I really do enjoy spending £45 for fruit of the loom hoodies with a logo ironed onto them.

karenTheBigCummer · 16/07/2020 21:42

My child likes to see some person called MrBeast but i watched a video of his and he is very cool and funny i recommend him, and also they are not annoying or shouty they do that because kids think it is more interesting and more funny and that how they make more money with more views.

Sherloidbaisherloid · 16/07/2020 21:48

A for adley, famous tube kids, elsia and ania. My oldest when they were younger would watch the Disney collector for hours if we let them. It’s basically unboxing of toys and opening of kinder eggs Grin

rosybell · 16/07/2020 21:52

Mine love Mr Beast too! It has made them a bit obsessed with money but at least he does some 'good' stuff with his money.

My two are into Josh from Let's Game it Out at the moment, to be honest he's really funny and we all enjoy his videos. They used to like Stampy (I didn't mind him) but one that really grated was Flamingo, he used to really shout into the microphone so it distorted. Luckily they don't watch him any more!

TimeWastingButFun · 16/07/2020 21:56

Ah yes Mr Beast, we watch him too.

I asked my 9 year old what Yeet meant, a while back and he made me laugh, he said it is to 'discard an item at high velocity' Grin

Stellaris22 · 16/07/2020 22:03

Ryan's Toy Review is why YouTube was banned for a while in our house, it is the worst thing ever made.

But it's now lots of Minecraft videos but she likes iPlayer for Pets Factor or Operation Ouch.

clare8allthepies · 16/07/2020 22:08

My 6 year old loves Preston/Brianna/Jelly but her favourite is Moriah Elizabeth and comes running down the stairs on a Saturday morning to see what the new video is.

SistemaAddict · 16/07/2020 22:35

Fecking sniperwolf and her fake eyebrows. Mind numbing minecraft and five minute fecking crafts.

Ds is 5 and loves Ryan, blippi and those colour things. The colour things are freaky but they are very calming for him. If he watches Ryan it has to be through headphones as his mum's voice makes me homicidal.

I have removed the amazon firestick due to the abuse of my senses and them not taking no for an answer. I am getting rid of the internet over the summer because they can't stick to limits or rules on access. The 13 and 11 year old are the worst. Luckily they are happy to watch educational stuff too and play out and read and bake and make up games etc. Once school is finished next Friday they will have no internet access. Their behaviour is impacted and that stuff is addictive and mind numbing.

Chimchimcharoo · 16/07/2020 22:47

My 8 and 6 year old love shot of the yeagars and all associated spin offs from the family. Elsia and annia dolls are also high on the list. I can’t stand it and have no idea how these clips became a near daily experience in our lives.

fortunacookie · 16/07/2020 23:07

Yep my DS 7 loves most of these and the American drawls voices drive me up the post !

Minecraft/super Mario tutorials
Stampi
Just general watching kids play games
Ryan Hmm

He occasionally watches science and space programs which I heartily encourage !

I could do harm too Grin

TokyoSushi · 16/07/2020 23:20

DD7 watches Isabelle & Annabelle at every given opportunity 🙄 As far as I can make out, it's basically Barbie's acting out real life, I think it might be made by people in New Zealand? Also a bit of Elsya and Anya. Sis v's Bro which makes me want to stick pins in my eyes - Ronald and Karina? Hideous! A new one these past couple of weeks has been Tic Tac Toy about some sort of Toy Master, also sounds like complete bilge.

DS9 watches people playing Fortnite 🙄

Needcoffeecoffeecoffee · 16/07/2020 23:22

The youngest likes blippi and the colour changing monster trucks a pp mentioned. I hate blippi
The eldest like minecraft people dan Tdm someone with some numbers and ethan gamer. It was getting ridiculous so we ended up saying you can either play minecraft/tablet for your allocated time a day or you watch someone else do it for your tablet time but not both. They so far prefer to play
They all like to watch marble runs or hot wheel tracks which are fine (except they could just play with their own) but worse are marble runs that are computer generated so just dots on a screen Hmm
Oh and hamsters in mazes are enjoyed by them all

Needcoffeecoffeecoffee · 16/07/2020 23:24

We did have a brief respite when they liked maddie moates channel. But now they are back to dots on a screen and shouty gamers Sad
