What crap are your DC obsessed with on you tube?

Ok, so my DC are 6 & 8 and simply will not watch anything other than you tube. Mainly Unspeakable (kind of harmless but annoying American prankster guy) plus just watching people like Stampy/Preston/Jelly play computer games , eg minecraft.

Its driving me mad, so every other day you tube is banned but this just leads to moaning and fuss, so I find myself feeling glad when it's a you tube day just for the peace!

So, I'm looking for tips on good TV shows to help my DC get back into stories or just watching something that takes a bit of investment and concentration. Have had some success with Steve Backshall deadly 60/ Henry Danger/ walking with dinosaurs.

Going back a few years now but Ryan's bastard Toy Review was the bane of my existence Grin

RoosterPie · 01/05/2020 07:58

Blippi and this ridiculous Diana and Roma show. She’s only 2 but seems to prefer these intensely annoying people to Hey Dugee it whatever other young children watch!

Karwomannghia · 01/05/2020 08:00

Dd 3 watches baby John and jj. Its so bad. It’s all social story themed songs with questionable rhyme and rhythm shoe horned into nursery rhyme tunes. Like wash wash wash your hands to the tune of row row row your boat.

Seeleyboo · 01/05/2020 08:09

Elsa and Anna. They're Barbies and they act out daily life. I banned them from Gaby and Alex. The over indulged planet wreckers. Roma and Diana are just as annoying but Maggie and Shanti does make me laugh.

Abreadsandwich · 01/05/2020 08:16

Omg my DS doesnt watch hardly anything except freaking youtube minecraft tutorials/commentaries. The voices drive me insane!! He is limited to how many he can watch/I can bear.

Noworrieshere · 01/05/2020 08:16

Unspeakable and Preston here too. And some other guy I've forgotten, Moose maybe? DS is 8.

12 yr old watches lots of Lego building people and historical war things like The Tank Museum and The Imperial War Museum channels. They are interesting

inwood · 01/05/2020 08:17

All sorts of random shite and I am really really strict with how much they can access because it has a direct impact on their behaviour. 9 yo girls - they turn into backchatting nightmares with American accents if they have uncontrolled access. One in particular is obsessed with it and would watch it all day long.

Goldensunnydays81 · 01/05/2020 08:20

My son loves dude perfect! Lots of sports tricks stuff.

AiryFairy1991 · 01/05/2020 08:27

Blippi here too. And these awful computer generated videos of various vehicles going into different colour water and coming out that colour which they then say in French. They’re horrendous and I hate them and my 2yo loves them.

PianoTuner567 · 01/05/2020 08:29

Yep, Unspeakable and Jelly here too. They’re just so loud and shouty!

Pascha · 01/05/2020 08:30

Stampy/DanTDM/sb737 minecraft/roblox/fortnite here. Occasional forays into deadly 60 and top gear but it always reverts to minecraft eventually.

PianoTuner567 · 01/05/2020 08:33

Sorry you asked about programmes. Since lockdown, I have made TV part of their home schooling but it has to be CBBC, stuff like Horrible Histories, Operation Ouch, Art Ninja - all on iplayer. They’re surprisingly OK with it but as soon as left to their own devices, they still go straight to YouTube.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 01/05/2020 08:49

DD 7 only watches a couple of kid-focused channels - CookieSwirlC and EllieVToys. Her favourites now are Plush Time Wins (a couple who clear out all the grabbing machines prizes for a living), Holly Vlogs (bargain shopping), Carly Jade Drake (cleaning, strange child Hmm), Theme Park Worldwide (theme parks!) and Family Fudge (brilliant and surprisingly easy bento lunch ideas). Due to lockdown ennui, its a proper happy family event when there's a new video from these.

WhiteVixen · 01/05/2020 08:57

The Norris Nuts 😭

Daughter is 8. She still likes a bit of Cookie Swirl C and Tiana/Toys & Me too.

Polkadotpjs · 01/05/2020 09:03

Some god awful guy called laser beam with a z. He swears and I keep turning him off but he comes back. Not sure if they have to declare if they swear?!

Ridiculousradish · 01/05/2020 09:04

10 year old DS seems to particularly like the shouty loud ones. I can't cope with them. Why are they so bloody shouty?

Polkadotpjs · 01/05/2020 09:06

Or if I can block his videos. They are so shouty

Ridiculousradish · 01/05/2020 09:06

At least he's moved on from the unboxing ones. What were those giant eggs all about? Whole families of YouTubers. Wonder how much money they actually make?

ReadilyAvailable · 01/05/2020 09:09

Oh, it’s video game vloggers here too: minecraft/fortnite/roblox. All extremely dull. He’s 10.

(Tbh, DH isn’t any bloody better. He insists on watching really inept ‘urbexers’ on YouTube. But he does it in the living room where I have to put up with it. At least DS is in his bedroom with his annoying shouty youtubers.)

TickTockBaby · 01/05/2020 09:09

Fucking Blippi! My 4 year old loves him, I didn't know this annoying knob existed until lockdown (happier times!) as apparently he's someone "she watches with Grannnnnyyyyyy"

His voice 😬😬😬😬

Kab30 · 01/05/2020 09:11

Ryan.....his bloody mothers voice goes through me.....xxxx please tell me they outgrow him x

Upsidedownfrown · 01/05/2020 09:13

My kids like Dangie Bros. Annoying voices but I generally don't mind them. They're better than all the silly shouty people playing Minecraft and Roblox that they used to watch. The Dangie bros do some stupid things sometimes like making trampoline towers but they're generally inoffensive.

Their partners have now teamed up to make the dangie babes which are even less 'dangie'

ememem84 · 01/05/2020 09:16

Ds is 2.5 and wanted to watch dinosaurs the other day. I found dinosaurs on YouTube on club baboo.

Ds refers to it as “moon dinosaur”. We’ve watched various “moon dinosaur” shows so much in the last week Ds now knows more dinosaur names than I do.

So he’s learned something. But man it’s annoying!!!!

PianoTuner567 · 01/05/2020 09:17

I wonder how much money they make. Unspeakable appears to be absolutely minted.

hardyloveit · 01/05/2020 09:18

My youngest loves Wendy pretend play, lily and Kate, ninja kids tv, and also keeps getting on to Hanby gang but I've no idea how! Also loves the crushing items under the car tyres

Oldest likes a bit of everything! But follows someone who is very good at a game she likes to play!
