What crap are your DC obsessed with on you tube?

Ok, so my DC are 6 & 8 and simply will not watch anything other than you tube. Mainly Unspeakable (kind of harmless but annoying American prankster guy) plus just watching people like Stampy/Preston/Jelly play computer games , eg minecraft.

Its driving me mad, so every other day you tube is banned but this just leads to moaning and fuss, so I find myself feeling glad when it's a you tube day just for the peace!

So, I'm looking for tips on good TV shows to help my DC get back into stories or just watching something that takes a bit of investment and concentration. Have had some success with Steve Backshall deadly 60/ Henry Danger/ walking with dinosaurs.

My DD watches Elsa and Anna toys too! And she watches Steve and Maggie.

My DS watches dan tdm mostly

DontTellThemYourNamePike · 01/05/2020 09:22

The awful Morgz and his annoying mother. Irritating shouty people and their fake challenges and fake, exaggerated reactions to said challenges. Grrrr.

More shouty people playing Roblox/Minecraft/Clash of Clans.

My DC also like those videos where various items are fed into a crusher. I have to say, they can be strangely addictive.

SimonJT · 01/05/2020 09:28

Babybum, babybum makes me want to stick pins in my eyes.

Monster trucks. Which is fine, but then we get “I’m a monster truck and your the ramp” which involves me laying on the floor and basically being jumped on.

KittenVsBox · 01/05/2020 09:29

Unspeakable and Preston here too. I see a theme!!!

Also some bridge building stuff?!

Tragicroundabout · 01/05/2020 09:41

2 DS 11 & 13. Dude perfect, Dan TDM, Collins Key and lots of strangely addictive videos showing what the human body is capable of on account of strength, suppleness, agility etc. The younger one is also obsessively watching every episode of the Simpsons on Disney plus. I get the younger one to watch stuff like Horrible Histories, Deadly 60, documentaries on National Geographic as part each day's 'learning'. They never watch 'regular' TV unless their dad or I insist on watching something.

megletthesecond · 01/05/2020 09:45

13yr old DS watched lazerbeam. I tolerate it.

11yr old DD watches Sis versus Bro and I actually have to hold back swearing in front of her because it's so mind rottingly awful 🤬. (For the record I do like a couple of other YouTube families, it's just them I can't stand).

Iwalkinmyclothing · 01/05/2020 09:47

Chad fucking Wild Clay.
FGTEEV (if I ever meet the father from that family I will say something deeply unpleasant; I met the mother I would give her a large bottle of vodka).
Toys and Colors. I'm sure the children are lovely. I am also sure their videos could be used as torture.

StillGardening · 01/05/2020 09:48

Seth’s bike hacks and his other channels, and Bondi Rescue. Mine like factual stuff! Helps that I enjoy watching them too !

AppropriateAdult · 01/05/2020 09:49

6yo DD is obsessed with Shot of the Yeagers, which is just a big family in Utah documenting their daily lives - it’s harmless stuff but I struggle to see the appeal...

peekaboob · 01/05/2020 09:50

Colin Furze for DS 11 and 9, as well as something Beast (charitable challenges, has very good ethics message) and Dude Perfect (who i absolutely allow as they're not bad on the eye!)

For DD14 I've just banned some squishy repair shite and other related stuff. We're grieving not being in Disneyland so she also looks up POV rides.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 01/05/2020 10:02

2yo watches Blippi the bastard timmy mallet wannabe.

One with British girl (about 12) and her little sister where their mum dresses up as 'granny'. So fucking loud.

Emma and Jenny

Older one watches some annoying dickhead called Flamingo who plays Roblox. His voice could be used for torture.
At least Dan TDM has quite a mellow chilled voice.
I have asked why she doesn't play the bloody games herself instead of watching someone else but I just got eye rolls.

At least we don't have to watch the opening of bloody surprise eggs anymore...

Wireless headphone saved my sanity.

WhiteVixen · 01/05/2020 10:08

Oh god, Sis vs Bro. I’d forgotten about that one. And Karina’s gaming videos. Her voice just goes through me, I cannot sit in the same room when Smorl Dorta is watching her.

Mammyloveswine · 01/05/2020 10:12

Absolute shit... titopo and tayo often hold their attention but the 2 year old often screams to watch "big dinosaurs on the telly" and the 4 year old likes to watch videos of "trains and metros" or "Lego polar express videos" so can get quite niche in the Wine household!

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 01/05/2020 10:12

Morphel - is that how you spell it?

Number jacks.
Some hairy blue spider that seems quite sweet.
Ben and Holly.
Peppa.

RaspberryBubblegum · 01/05/2020 10:21

Come play with me with Anya and Elsya is always on our TV!!! It's just kids playing with toddler anna and elsa dolls 😅
Blippi, nastya, babybum, they all are so dull. Don't mind super simple songs though.

RightOnTheEdge · 01/05/2020 10:30

Mine are 7 and 9 and are obsessed with Jelly/Josh/Kwebbelkop, also Preston and his wife Brianna who acts like a 6yr old girl which is very creepy and irritating. I guess to be fair to Preston and Bri though they are pretty harmless.

My dd love a Youtuber called Azzyland and says she is her inspiration 🙄
Although I quite like her too she seems sweet.

I can't believe how much money they have made from just making these videos though and selling their merch Shock
They are millionaires. I looked it up once and its said that Jelly has made $7 million from his videos and Preston house is huge!
It boggles my brain.

vickibee · 01/05/2020 10:33

Dan tdm obsessed, we even had to go and see him live at mcr arena
Also he watches others playing minecraft and fort nite.
He takes over the smart tv in the living room.

ApocalypseNowt · 01/05/2020 10:40

Azzyland here too. And Troon Troon I think it's called. Something about a good unicorn and a bad unicorn. Idk. Confused

AnotherDFSsale · 01/05/2020 10:48

Fizzy toy show with an enormously squeaky voiced woman howling and ewwwwing.

bookworm14 · 01/05/2020 11:24

I had to massively restrict YouTube as DD was coming across weird unsuitable stuff. She is now only allowed to watch it via the tv and only selected channels. She loves Ania and Elsia (Frozen dolls acting out scenes) which seems harmless enough. I can also tolerate Ryan in small doses. The ones I really can’t stand are Kate and Lilly (twin girls in the US who seem to do nothing but flog toys to their viewers). There really is a lot of dross out there.

WhatICallMyUsername · 01/05/2020 23:18

OMG I've literally just seen this on FB. Anything Fortnite but at least that means he's not playing it. He also records numerous videos of him doing random stuff like opening toys for the day I give in and let him be a YouTuber. When hell freezes over

Forgetmenutcracker · 01/05/2020 23:35

My 9 year old watches The Royalty Family & Francesca & Lea incessantly. Apparently she NEEDS a Starbucks double choc frappuccino when lockdown is lifted despite the most exotic thing she's ever had there before being an innocent smoothie 😂😂😂😂😂
The 5 year old watches animated fairy tale stories which is much better! and endless Sofia the First on Disney+ which makes my ears bleed

Ilovebanoffeepie · 01/05/2020 23:48

Jelly and Gaming with Kev..... Aghhhhhhhh!!!

Also any other loud American Roblox you tubers!
