Thanks for the shiny new thread!
Pp mentioned that sally should get her ducks in a row regarding Tim. I’ve always thought that they’re a mismatched couple.

Thesearmsofmine · 24/04/2020 11:56

Marking you place.

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 24/04/2020 12:13

Speaking of ducks, I wonder what happened to the three pot ones that Hilda Ogden used to have flying across her 'muriel'? Hmm

BakedCam · 24/04/2020 12:22

Thanks for new thread, OP.

eggandonion · 24/04/2020 13:07

scaryreading · 24/04/2020 13:23

scaryreading · 24/04/2020 13:23

Marion?

Roussette · 24/04/2020 14:08

Thanks for new thread!

I had to write a quiz last week and I made up one of the questions from stuff I'd read. Is it OK if I post it here?
It is Corrie themed!

eggandonion · 24/04/2020 14:37

It's a yes from me.

CoolShoeshine · 24/04/2020 15:07

Checking in - I read the other day an interview with Ken Roache that they’ve got about 3 months’ worth of episodes if they keep playing them at the current rate of 3 per week.
Can you remember a few years back when they made half hour programmes focusing on certain key characters. There was definitely one about Deirdre - it showed old clips and the actress was interviewed talking about them. If they do happen to run out of episodes I’d quite like it if they did that again, there are a number of characters that have been in it for years eg Eileen, Tracey, David, Steve - Id like to see programmes about them - bit of light relief!

Roussette · 24/04/2020 15:11

OK, I'll go for it... no googling Grin

Name the only famous person who has not appreared on Coronation Street.

I think there was a wedding special?

Clawdy · 24/04/2020 15:24

Sally and Tim are one of the few couples on the street that I really like. I'd be cross if the story line changed things, too many silly disfunctional pairings on the Street already.

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 24/04/2020 15:26

Roussette

I want to say Kingsley... But I've a funny feeling he was in Corrie back in the days before.the movies, like 1960s era.

Waiting for answer....

CoolShoeshine · 24/04/2020 15:52

I can’t remember Mel B being in it so that’s my guess.
I really hope they don’t split Sally and Tim, it’s nice to have a few happy couples on the street and they are lovely together. I like the fact that Sally is snobby but Tim is the opposite but they nevertheless seem to work. Also how Kevin and Tim are pally despite Kevin being Sally’s ex. It shouldn’t work but it does.
I’ve been a bit disappointed in the Geoff and Yasmeen storyline how little involvement Tim has had. There was potential there for a spin off story regarding Tim’s relationship with his Dad, his childhood and his mum.

eggandonion · 24/04/2020 16:02

I think Mel B too. I still hope Tim will solve the Geoff storyline.

ColonelNobbyNobbs · 24/04/2020 16:31

Mel B I think. Can’t remember her being in it anyway. Remember most of the others

ColonelNobbyNobbs · 24/04/2020 16:32

Was thinking that on Wednesday Shoeshine that’s its nice that Sally’s ex is best man (one o) at the wedding. I love Sally and Kevin’s relationship too.

EggsFried · 24/04/2020 16:38

I like Sally and Tim together too Smile

I'll vote Ben Kingsley but I'm not sure. I can remember about half of the list being in it. Was Peter Kay someone who went out with Shelley? From watching the classic Corrie, I think Mel B once appeared as Andy McDonald's girlfriend Amy in a scene with the lights down and where we couldn't see her properly as the original actress had to leave at short notice?

Roussette · 24/04/2020 16:50

Ok... I will reveal all !
Not Ben Kingsley
Amazingly, before Mel B became a Spice Girl and she was about 17, she stacked shelves in Bettabuys, it was her first job! Very small part

The answer is....

Jeremy Beadle
Grin

TheSquitz · 24/04/2020 17:08

Just checking in before this evening's episode, no doubt full of academy award standard acting and storylines firmly rooted in reality. Oh, hang on a minute...

CoolCarrie · 24/04/2020 17:19

Both Ben Kingsley and Brenda Fricker were in Corrie over the years and both went on to win oscars.

Roussette · 24/04/2020 17:32

Ooooh didn't know Brenda Fricker had been in Corrie! I just picked a random few names who had.
There were lots more. I remember Status Quo coming on and of course Prince Charles Grin

TheSquitz · 24/04/2020 19:18

Plus Sir Ian McKellan.
