I really hope the woman who Geoff assaulted turns up at some point to help Yasmeen

I really hope this storyline does help others in this situation.

"I would rather see you dead, than with someone else" some people might think its far fetched but its so true some men would rather see dead than be out of their control.

Ryan, Aliyah, sally, Cathy, Gail, Eileen,

Who else has noticed things? Surely enough of them know now that one would mention to another? They already sort of did when Gail mentioned Yasmeen crying in the garden- Eileen mentioned the box locking thing. Come on everyone- get together and work it out.

Problem is that no one is seeing the full picture, only small snippets. And unless you have (retrospective) first hand experience of this, it's all but impossible to comprehend.
One of the cleverest things about this plot is the way Geoff was occasionally "nice" - this behaviour is part of the deeply dangerous abd instinctively clever narcissist - just enough "niceness" to keep the victim totally confused and doubting , to keep them reeled in and off balance.
Whoever write this story line did an excellent job with a little understood form of severe abuse.
We are seeing it from the inside remember. In real life, nobody would.

Why was Evelyn in the café with the dog, Cerberus ? It's not an assistance dog.

I know. It’s frustrating as a viewer as we can see the whole picture but I think enough of them, particularly Aaliyah and Ryan, have seen odd things to realise somethings not quite right.

I know from when my friend was being abused she’d said somethings to me that rang alarm bells and I actually went to our other friend and said “does X seem ok to you? She said something worrying to me” and then friend said “yes actually I noticed this about her too” and then we both actually made a point of bringing it up with her. Of course it wasn’t instant and she couldn’t see it all initially but it opened the conversation and over the next few years she opened up more about what he was doing and eventually accepted it was abuse.

Even if Aliyah spoke to Cathy or sally (as the neighbour and Geoff’s daughter in law) they might all realise that Yasmeen needs help.

I hope at least it gets people with suspicions of abuse in RL to reach out to their friends and offer support.

I was so frustrated when he asked her to leave. It is effectively her house.

Where is Ryan? He was meant to check on her.

When he went outside I thought he was going to kill the chickens.

@scaryreading I thought the same regarding the house. Is he now on the mortgage? I really hope he doesn’t take the house from her.

I’ve said this before but Tracy has gone horrible lately. Really frustrating me how she’s allowed to get away with the way she talks to some people, she’s always had a bit of an attitude on her but she’s gone worse.

Agree about Tracey. I think they’ve lost the way with Tracey and Steve and don’t know what to do with them anymore. So they just write a series of “witty” (very much not!) put downs for her and silky faces to pull for Steve.

silly! I’ve no idea if Steve’s face is silky.

Plus the silly voices Steve does.

That smoke will have been really foul as he was burning clothes wasnt he? So there’ll have been polyesters and maybe toiletries as well. There’s no way sally would have thought it was garden waste.

I suppose the other problem is the way he appears jovial and pleasant with other street residents, in the shops and pub.He sometimes refers to Yasmeen as " the boss" jokingly, and most of them probably think he's a nice guy.

I find the scenes really awful, she is so lonely and she knows she is not an alcoholic but she is not sure about other things he tells her.

Does he still have her bank cards. Nobody seems to be working at Speed Dhal?

Yes he puts on the perfect front and cover story doesn’t he? My ex was like that. I remember once catching sight of a text that came up on his phone from his friend that seemed to imply I was being a cow. I wondered what that was about so I snooped when ex went to the shower. His mate had asked him to go to some event with him and my ex had responded saying he had asked me but I wouldn’t let him go and how I wore the trousers and he had to do as he was told. I was completely floored. For starters he hadn’t even mentioned the event to me and secondly nothing could have been further from the truth. He did exactly as he pleased, swanning in and out at all hours seeing god knows who without so much as a by your leave to me. After we separated I uncovered a load more lies he had told his mates and their wives about me to make me seem like some psycho.

How many cameras does Geoff have in the living room? It seems to capture lots of different angles.

Sometimes she does stand up to him though and we hope it will empower her.

I have to have a stiff drink just to watch the scenes with Geoff & Yasmeen, he's such a good actor, I'm terrified of him 😩

Horrible again watching Geoff tonight. I hope Alya is back soon.

I can remember when they first started going out and Yasmeen didn’t want a sexual relationship. Even back then the control was there, he coerced her by sulking.

Alya was only going away a few days, wish she was back too because without her, Geoff has free rein to do what he wants
