I'm guessing Ian bought it, and was able to raise money by remortgaging the restaurant, which he now owns 100% because Max wanted to hide his assets from Rainie. Sharon's going to need a live in nanny, isn't she? She certainly looked right at home behind the bar.

Didn't Ian delete the recording of Denny though? I'm not sure what hold Dotty still has over him as why would anyone believe her?
I thought it was a great ending, though there was no mention on Covid despite that being filmed at the beginning of the pandemic.

I'm not sure how Sharon afforded it or what Dotty still has over Ian either. That said, if confronted by Sharon, I don't think Ian would lie convincingly.

It was a hell of a way to end. Is it possible they did a bit of socially distanced filming to get the last bit in before the break? Seems a very lucky place to stop and keep everyone wanting to watch.

Yes. I wonder if they tweaked the timeline slightly to make it fit. There's no way the club/pub scenes could have been done but I think there were a few this episode that were just a couple of characters at a distance. It was probably destined to be a Friday episode cliff hanger.

Oh there’s only one way that can go isn’t there? Ian will lose the whole restaurant somehow due to this. He’ll be back on the streets by Xmas.

i liked the ending, but agree it seems very well timed, we had 6w of recorded, twice a week instead of 4 times, so this is not an extra should have been shown 6w ago so just after easter

I definitely think they have to have tweaked the planned timings Of the story so that it ended on that scene. There's no way it was a coincidence.

I guess they did have enough warning that they might have to stop so there was enough time to make sure it ended on a good cliff hanger.

Good call on Ben’s flu possibly being covid. They had already started the him having a fever story so it would be very easy to change that into him having covid.
