No tennis never bothered us before so why change now?

Morning all. Cold and wet here today, which is a bit of a shock to the system after the lovely weather we have had recently.

Just been googling to see if I can find anything on the Madrid Open and saw that the LTA has posted a video on YouTube of the Murray / Paire match. Not much to look at but quite amusing because of Andy's commentary.

It's raining here as well. And cold. I had to put the heating back on

I saw a bit of Andy's "match" - his comments were funny. Belinda Bencic was also funny, did anyone see her video? She got kitted up in all her tennis gear, racquet bag, etc, walked down her hallway as though it was a tunnel leading onto a court, and then waved as she walked out into her living room

It’s cold and wet here as well - I didn’t have to queue at the supermarket for too long this morning but it made me glad that we’re not having to do this in the winter (hopefully!)

I’ll have a look at the Madrid Open - that sounds funny about Belinda Bencic walking down her hall as if she was going to the court

My DM said that Judy Murray was on breakfast telly this morning - I didn’t see it so not sure what she was talking about. My DM seemed more concerned that Judy’s hair was faring better than hers under lockdown

I’m actually preferring my hair a bit longer (might not feel the same in six months time!) and the colour is better now after a bit of a mishap with home dying a few weeks ago

Pouring with rain here - which is OK for a day or so as garden badly needs it.

Triumph of the day was callinginto a small corner shop & getting 500g fresh yeast. We've* made all our own bread for the last 20 years or so & were getting worried about yeast supplies.

(* A royal 'we' - it's DH who is the baker!)

I thought there was going to be a riot in Aldi this morning when a customer was demanding to know why there wasn’t any flour anywhere

I watched even though I'd seen it before and marvelled at how Roisin has made a living as a celebrity or manages to survive at all quite frankly!

Watched Andy and Djok yesterday and then fast forwarded through Stan and Djok. Still got Rafa / Andy / Rog to watch.

Was surprisingly nice weather first thing this morning but then started to rain just as DH and I had to go out shopping.

Today is our silver wedding anniversary . DS found two old balloons in the back of the cupboard, blew them up and wrote a 2 on one, a 5 on the other and spent half an hour before breakfast trying to hang them together from the kitchen ceiling beams
As we obviously can't go out to celebrate /commiserate (delete as applicable ) DS has said he is going to cook dinner tonight, hence the earlier shopping trip!

My IBS has flared up today and I'm out of Buscopan. Had to order online so it might be here by next week I'm sitting here with my hot water bottle.

The washing machine died yesterday. It's been on its last legs for a couple of months, getting louder and louder. DS2 did some washing in the bath

DS only needed a bit of help. Typical bloke, underestimated the prep time required before the actual cooking began but it was all lovely. Garlic mushrooms on sourdough toast, fillet steak with a brandy, peppercorn and cream sauce, frites and Hampshire watercress, and New Forest strawberries and cream.

Andre Agassi is 50 today . Tennis Podcast has been asking on Twitter for memories of him, and most people are replying with comments about his stonewash shorts

I thought Andre was a few years younger than that. He was such a breath of fresh air when he arrived on the scene.

I found eight Buscopan tablets in a drawer so that'll tide me over. Still have a bit of pain but not as bad as it was. I also managed to order a washing machine from Harvey Norman who are having a flash sale today so it picked the right day to pack in!

So now, well done Jane on both fronts

Jane I find stewed apple helps somewhat with IBS. Not as good as Buscopan but deffo an aid.

I hid the thread by accident. I do that every so often.

Today- I have left the house ! I had to go to the doctors for a pneumonia jab. I'm on a list. The nurse isn't sure why I'm on a list (and neither am I), but I went anyway . I haven't driven sine the 20th March- and my car didn't want to start!

I tried to stew some apples and ended up burning them I only had a few sad looking Granny Smiths which I can report are not good for cooking with. I was distracted by having a strange man in the house who came to fix the phone line.
