Fizzy yup Grin. It was nice cake, fortunately. Grin.

PrivateSpidey · 15/04/2020 00:05

The cake looks great Fizzy!

Hope everyone is ok. We've had a fairly productive day putting plants in (finally) and tidying up etc. As well as eating too much chocolate Hmm

JaneJeffer · 15/04/2020 00:41

The Donald has announced "we have to get our sports back". If only we could Sad

OP posts:
Raahh · 15/04/2020 09:21

Watching the Donald is a sport in itself at the moment. Scary man.

I decided to watch Bake Off this morning, and spent 5 minutes saying to dd2, I'm sure Russell Brand has been on this before.

I have just realised it is a repeat from last year. Blush.

JaneJeffer · 15/04/2020 11:53

I watched the whole thing before I realised it was a repeat. I don't think I'd seen it before. The vagina biscuits were very funny. I watched Prue's journey with her daughter afterwards. It was sad but nice that she met some relatives in the end.

It's a beautiful day here.

Raahh · 15/04/2020 12:02

The vagina biscuits were indeed something.Grin

It's lovely here, but cold. Dog has been to the vet though, and is now not talking to anyone. I suppose it is a bit of a traumatic procedure. Grin.

JaneJeffer · 15/04/2020 12:06

Aww poor dog. I'm sure he's grateful really Grin

Fizzywinegum · 15/04/2020 13:06

It’s really warm here - I’ve just made DS2 put some sun cream on Shock

I watched Bake off but remembered it was a repeat - it was funny though - Russell Brand doesn’t usually make me laugh but his vagina biscuits did Grin

I think that’s about the only thing I’ve ever agreed with the Donald about (I bet he’s not a tennis fan though!). He does seem to be getting (even) more deranged by the day! Hmm

Hope that the dog stops sulking soon Raahh!

Fizzywinegum · 15/04/2020 19:06

I just got DS1 to translate Rafa’s Instagram with the mixer and he said that his Mum taught him (are you sure about that Rafa? Grin)

JaneJeffer · 15/04/2020 22:02

Grin I'm sure his mum would have something to say about that.

I'm watching a programme about policing St. Patrick's Day in Dublin and a man told one of the Gardai he was playing quiet tennis which is the same as normal tennis but without the racket. I think he'd had a few Grin

Jane Grin - is that Stef? On the Tennis Podcast they were all a bit worried about his mental well-being - apparently he’s behaving even more oddly than usual on his social media feeds.

He needs some tennis to occupy him poor thing (don’t we all!)

JaneJeffer · 16/04/2020 16:58

It is. I'm sure he's fine, he just has his own way of expressing himself Grin although my own 21 year old is losing the plot a bit as well (and breathe)!

OP posts:
Fizzywinegum · 17/04/2020 08:54

Jane mine are almost 18 and 21 (probably both going to have lockdown birthdays Sad)
They are both a bit up and down at the minute - DS1 is still trying to finish his degree and then is a bit unsure about what the future holds for him.

I think it’s difficult for this age but also difficult for people with toddlers and school age children. At least I only have to provide lots of food and don’t have to home educate them!

Hope everyone is OK - it’s been a bit quiet on here the last few days.

magimedi · 17/04/2020 08:58

I was saying to DH yesterday that we are lucky it's just the two of us in lockdown. We are used to spending a lot of time together and good at keeping out each other's hair!

I think I'd prefer teenagers to toddlers - just because toddlers are so bloody physically exhausting!

Of to the butchers shortly - am strangely excited about this departure from routine!!

Fizzywinegum · 17/04/2020 09:05

Have fun at the butchers magi Grin

I think we do quite well to keep out of each other’s way - I agree toddlers and small children are very tiring - they never stop!

JaneJeffer · 17/04/2020 13:05

Nice try but we all know Stan would have a 🐻 not a 👻 Grin

It's a beautiful sunny day here. I hope the good weather lasts because it makes things more bearable (although not for anyone stuck inside without a garden).

Hi all Tennis

Hope everyone is ok. Am going to try and post on here a bit more - really want the thread to keep going no matter how much/little actual tennis there is!

How was the butcher magi?! Hope it was everything you dreamed of!

We've just had some shopping delivered, including some stuff for one of our neighbours. It feels nice to help people even though it wasn't much (no specific requests!!).

I also had a nice chat with the delivery man about cress Grin I had ordered some and it was on the top of one of the bags, and he was saying "Ooh cress! I haven't had that for years!" etc. So we were reminiscing about growing it on cotton wool etc in the old days! I suggested it to DS and he was completely unimpressed Hmm

Anyway Grin

I was watching some clips of Rafa v Djok in the RG YouTube channel yesterday. The 2013 semi final (well, why not at this point?!). It's got that classic rally where Djok hits a winning smash then crashes into the net and loses the point. Well worth watching.

Also yesterday I got 16/20 on Metro's Andy Murray quiz and 15/20 on their Federer quiz Grin

Waiting for them to bring out a Delpo quiz so I can smash it with 20/20 Wink

PrivateSpidey · 17/04/2020 14:43

Oh also on the Tennis Podcast they were talking about which 4 tennis players would you invite to a dinner party Grin

I think I'd invite Goran, Martina, Mac and Boris.
Grin

Raahh · 17/04/2020 14:47

Afternoon!

I am set in my Doctors followed by Father Brown pattern at the moment (so no change to normalGrin).

It is sunny here today, but quite chilly. DD2 and I have been going to the park every day with the dog and doing a bit of wildlife spitting (AC would proud). We keep seeing a water rat- and the nest under the bridge had eggs in it yesterday, which was nice.

Dh has now been wfh for 5 weeks. It is driving me crackers GrinGrin.

Raahh · 17/04/2020 14:51

Grin I would love to say Rafa would be a good dinner guest- but would we be able to understand his Rafa-ish? Funny though. Djok would be no fun. What would he eat ??

JaneJeffer · 17/04/2020 14:55

I'd have Ernests, Boris, Stan and Henri. Party on!

OP posts:
PrivateSpidey · 17/04/2020 15:07

Ah Jane now I prefer your guest list to mine! Envy

Presume Henri would be wearing his gorgeous mythical cologne, L'Eau d'Henri

Grin

And I bet he would bring some nice wine as well.

PrivateSpidey · 17/04/2020 15:10

Rafa would be a lovely guest, he'd be so polite.

Djok - hmm. Perhaps he could entertain everyone with his impressions of other players?!

Btw I love Father Brown Raahh!

Raahh · 17/04/2020 15:28

I love Father Brown, Spidey even though it is a repeat from the first series. It is just very easy to watch.

I think Foggy would be a fun guest. Strikes me as fond of a tipple. Stefanos might be a bit intense. But probably likes good food.

I bet Ash Barty would be fun too.

Billie Jean would be like inviting the slightly dippy Aunt to the party.

Sue Barker probably tells rude jokes after too much Gin.
