No tennis never bothered us before so why change now? TennisGrin

Weekly shop done - not too stressful - even managed to get hand wash Shock. Let’s see how long this food lasts - the DSs eat a lot anyway but now they’re stuck indoors they’re even worse Hmm

Jane I saw that Mac called Connors a complete a-hole a few years ago Grin. Not much love lost between those two!

Hope everyone has a good day - the sun is shining here Smile

I absolutely love this! Grin Well done Feli and co.

Even delpo should be able to play!

JaneJeffer · 07/04/2020 11:49

It reminded me of years ago when Rafa said he played as Roger on the PlayStation because his avatar didn't move properly! DS1 had the tennis game back then and it was very glitchy Grin

Go Feli Grin

No, Mac and Connors hate each other. I believe they were barely civil to each other (if they were unable to avoid one another completely) when they were on the Davis Cup team together.

Only had to queue for 40 minutes to get into Waitrose today. Still no loo roll or tissues though Angry

magimedi · 07/04/2020 16:03

Didn't have to queue to get into Tesco. Got 2 packets of strong wholemeal bread flour which was amazing as we always make our own bread (have been doing so for 20+ years).

Tissues, loo roll, frozen veg all there. Very well stocked.

Was pleased to get back home again though!

Fizzywinegum · 07/04/2020 17:14

You need to go to Aldi kazza - plenty of loo roll and pasta there (but no flour this week) I’m always glad to get home as well magi.

A little old man got his trolley and went to the end of the queue and the store person told him to go to the front of the queue and let him into the shop before anyone else - I thought I was going to start crying Sad

That’s funny about Rafa being Roger on the tennis computer game Jane Grin

I don’t really understand how the Madrid Open is going to work - I tried reading it but couldn’t concentrate - I’ll try again unless someone can explain it to me in very simple terms!

Raahh · 07/04/2020 17:58

I have been knocked out by a migraine since the early hours- I think the stress of all this is getting to me a bit (not that I'm doing anything stressful).

A virtual Madrid Open sounds fun- anyone could win it Grin.

PrivateSpidey · 08/04/2020 00:41

Sorry to hear about the migraine Raahh. Hope it's worn off now.

Ah Fizzy what a sweet story about the man at Aldi Smile I just feel like my emotions are so close to the surface all the time at the moment, if I saw that I would have cried!

Good news about the flour magi. I read somewhere that apparently there is plenty of flour but most of it is normally sold in Gregg's, McDonald's etc, rather than supermarkets, so it's something to do with being able to package it for supermarkets rather than commercial that's the issue.

Sigh. Sorry. This is the kind of thing I take interest in these days, sorry Grin

Re tennis, I bet Djok would win the virtual Madrid Open! Grin He did say he wanted to go the whole season unbeaten Grin

Fizzywinegum · 08/04/2020 07:28

I know Spidey - all of my posts seem to relate to food shopping these days Grin. That is interesting about the flour though (really!)

Hope you’re feeling better Raahh Flowers. These are stressful times even if you don’t feel particularly stressed. I think I’m going through the flat acceptance phase now Hmm

Of course Djok will win the virtual Madrid Open Grin

magimedi · 08/04/2020 07:54

"I think I’m going through the flat acceptance phase now".

Exactly how I feel - somewhat dumbed down & automaton-like. But it's a sight better than feeling stressed & anxious.

I am loving the quiet & hearing the birdsong so much.

Djok had better not win!

Raahh · 08/04/2020 09:48

Morning all- I feel a bit better today, just very tired an the pain has retreated to the back of my head. I can deal with that.

We had no internet last night- no idea what happeded- but oh boy, did it cause ructions with the dc Grin. Well, small ructions. Grin. Seems to be working now.

Probably right about Djok winning the virtual Madrid tennis- but do you think he plays games like that? He doesn't seem the type to allow himself fun.

More worried Kyrgios, with his vast experience of late night gaming sessions, will waltz off with the title. Grin. This has got to be his idea of heaven- bet he still manages to swear at the umpire.

Raahh · 08/04/2020 10:01

Sorry about the bad typing. Grin. The dog is acting like he he hasn't seen me for days, and keeps making a swipe at the keyboard when I stop stroking him.

Comeon dog, I never leave the house! (And it's not like I did much before Grin).

magimedi · 08/04/2020 10:41

Pleased to hear you are feeling better Raahh. Meant to ask how you were in my last post, but I can't remember anythoing atm - my brain is dribbling down my nech Grin

Raahh · 08/04/2020 11:59

magi I thought today was Friday. I am not sure it would make much difference if it was, but I was quite disappointed to find it was Wednesday.

The Bank Holiday will feel a bit odd- I am hoping for proper Biblical epics on the tv. Like The Robe and Ben Hur.

Grin
Fizzywinegum · 08/04/2020 12:17

I almost forgot to watch the Bake off last night because I didn’t know what day it was!

On my work Team Chat someone has just asked if anyone watched Our Girl last night Grin (no replies so far!)

Jesus of Nazareth with Robert Powell would be good Raahh - I’m not religious but remember watching it years ago

Raahh · 08/04/2020 12:25

Fizzy that used to be a real staple aound Easter, Jesus of Nazareth- Robert with his piercing blie eyes (which Jesus probably didn't have Grin)

PrivateSpidey · 08/04/2020 12:32

The Robe Grin I love a bit of Victor Mature. Fingers crossed Raahh!!

Ah yes I never thought about Kyrgios being good at computer games! He could be in contention then...

Raahh · 08/04/2020 12:37

Spidey the Robe is one of my favourites, and it goes on for hours, so it fills the day nicely Grin.

Maybe they won't ask Kyrgios to take part. He doesn't like clay any way, remember- after his chair throwing antics, and subsequent 'I'm all abou the grass' rubbish. Hopefully he doesn't like virtual clay either? Grin.

Raahh · 08/04/2020 12:49

I'm about to watch Bake Off with DD2. I really like Robert Rinder.

JaneJeffer · 08/04/2020 13:28

I love a bit of Victor Mature. Me too. Samson and Delilah is great as well. I love The Ten Commandments with Charlton Heston as well. Cecil B. DeMille knew how to make a good film Grin

OP posts:
Raahh · 08/04/2020 13:30

They don't make films like that now, which is a shame.

PrivateSpidey · 08/04/2020 15:28

Yes - all in very glorious technicolour! Samson and Delilah, yes we used to love that as well. And The Song of Bernadette Grin I don't think my DS would be too impressed if I told him that was his bank holiday viewing!

I've had a look in the Radio Times and I can't see anything like this on the schedule, but the one I've got only goes up to Good Friday - so there's still hope!

JaneJeffer · 08/04/2020 16:14

The Greatest Story Ever Told is on BBC2 on Saturday at 12. They have The Robe on Monday at 3. They also have The Lavender Hill Mob on Friday at 4!

OP posts:
Raahh · 08/04/2020 16:47

Jane Oh that's good. Happy days!! Almost as good as some tennis.

Amost.
