And no, no-one can match Benoit's beard, and I am sure even in these trying times, his grooming regime will not fall by the way side Grin.

Fizzywinegum · 26/03/2020 18:33

With technical assistance from DS1 - I already thought I’d done this so might post twice!

Fizzywinegum · 26/03/2020 18:36

Raahh even though I try with the grooming thing I still manage to look ungroomed - I’m a bit worried about my roots! My eyebrows have always been a bit out of control and refuse to be tamed!

Raahh · 26/03/2020 18:38

Thanks, Fizzy Grin.

Fizzywinegum · 26/03/2020 18:39

DS1 didn’t even ask why I was posting a picture of Rafa in his pants Grin

Raahh · 26/03/2020 18:41
Grin

Well, it's totally normal, isn't it Grin.

We are living in unusual times Grin

JaneJeffer · 26/03/2020 18:44

Benoit and Stan had a chat on Instagram last night of which I didn't understand one word but watched the whole thing anyway.

I hacked a couple of inches off my hair yesterday!

OP posts:
Raahh · 26/03/2020 18:52

Jane very brave. Grin

I trim the ends of mine, because it's so curly/fizzy, you can't tell if I mess up Grin.

Fizzywinegum · 26/03/2020 18:58

I’m still undecided on my hair strategy!

Raahh · 26/03/2020 19:11

This whole situation has made me want to dye my hair bright red. And I haven't dyed it for years.

And now I can't go and buy hair dye [grin.

PrivateSpidey · 26/03/2020 19:17

Grin Fizzy I love that your ds just accepted you wanted to download a pic of Rafa in his pants Grin

That picture is one for the calendar, for sure.

I've not listened to the podcast yet, will have to tune in.

I get their email newsletter, and this week, Catherine was giving tips on completing jigsaws Grin

That's lucky as I have just got a jigsaw with a scene of Venice and I need to get started!

Re hair/eyebrows/roots etc. I was in the queue for the Boots website for 7 hours today!! I mean, I was doing other things at the same time. But honestly! Managed to order some stuff but the hair situation is definitely a tricky one...

magimedi · 26/03/2020 23:20

I am going to let my hair go wild - it's all white & will be looking like the wicked witch of the north at the end of this & might just start behaving like her as well. So unlike moi!!! Grin

JaneJeffer · 27/03/2020 00:04

Grin go for it magi. My hair is always wild. Once I bumped into my MIL out shopping and she said "I thought it was you when I saw the hair"!

Grin I love it!

Fizzywinegum · 27/03/2020 09:52

Just been to Aldi to do weekly shop - got there just after it opened - there was a small queue outside and they were letting people in 5 at a time. They had most things (including toilet rollsShock) and it was probably a more pleasant experience than usual because it wasn’t so busy Smile

I think I need to tidy the house - I’m still waiting for all this spare time that I’m supposed to have Hmm.

Catherine mentioned cross stitch and jigsaws on the podcast Spidey Grin. They were also talking about which players they would like to self isolate with - the general consensus was Diego Schwartzman because of his dogs! They didn’t comment on who they would not like to self isolate with! I still think I would go with Stan Bear. Rafa might be a bit too healthy for me! Grin

Hope everyone is well.

JaneJeffer · 27/03/2020 10:51

Having people study at home makes a lot of mess. Not to mention all the impromptu meal times. Still at least no one will drop in for a visit!

I fell down a conspiracy theory rabbit hole last night because of a thread on here. Apparently the internet is going off for 10 days from 1st April Shock

It's a gorgeous sunny day here.

OP posts:
Raahh · 27/03/2020 11:10

The internet going off? ShockGrinHow on earth would that work, with all these people working from home, and all the school work?

I have had my walk with the dog and dd2. We saw 3 people. It is very strange. I really need to cut the grass. But am putting that off until absolutely necessary .Grin

PrivateSpidey · 27/03/2020 12:18

But did you see any butterflies Raahh? That's what we need to know Grin

I think the internet shutdown person was a bit early with their April Fool Hmm Grin

Good work with the shopping Fizzy. DH said the same yesterday, about it being very quiet.

Jigsaw news: I have completed one edge Shock

Raahh · 27/03/2020 12:22

Spidey I think we saw one. It was a poor day for butterfly spotting. Grin

Fizzywinegum · 27/03/2020 12:26

Well done on the jigsaw Spidey Smile

If anyone has Sky Sports you can pause your subscription by logging into your account. You can still watch the sports channels but don’t get charged for them. Your subscription will automatically resume when live sport does (whenever that might be Hmm). I’ve just done ours.

kazzaD66 · 27/03/2020 15:53

Did my usual weekly shop this morning, plus one for my 86 year old dad. DH and I went in together - I had one larger trolley for us and he had a smaller one for dad's shopping. We had to queue for about 1 hour 20 minutes because they were only letting in 59 people at any one time. I left DH in the queue whilst I went to the bank and then queued for about 20 mins to get into Superdrug. All quite calm, although DH said I missed a bit of a barney when someone refused to queue! Got your trolley, newly sanitised, when you went in. A fair amount of stuff, although loo rolls, pasta and rice were thin on the ground.

I do not want to repeat that too often but at least the sun was shining. Queuing for over an hour in the pouring rain would have been a whole different ball game Hmm

I see that Djok is donating 1m euros to Serbia for ventilators and other equipment and kits. Apparently, he has connections in China and Germany who can help Confused
So, he has slightly redeemed himself Grin

And now Boris and Matt Hancock have tested positive.

Hope everyone is still healthy and enjoying the sunshine, at least! Although I don't think it's meant to last much longer Hmm

Yes, I definitely think Stan would be a good choice for a self isolating tennis chum.
He certainly seems well stocked with food and wine GrinBear Wine

magimedi · 27/03/2020 16:02

Haven't done much today but had a lovely chat with DS. He's in France & they are a week ahead of us in lockdown. He says everyone there says the second week is deffo easier as it becomes the 'norm' & everyone is getting over the shock of it.

A funny I saw somewhere else - can but dream of holidays atm

No Tennis? You can not be serious!
Fizzywinegum · 27/03/2020 16:36

Queuing for 1 hour 20 minutes Kazza Shock. Our trolleys weren’t sanitised - maybe you went to a more upmarket shop than me? Grin

That’s funny magi Grin. Jet2 have still been sending me emails which I thought was a bit insensitive - although the latest one was about holidays for next year!

Hope that your family in France are OK. It’s weird how everything does just become normal - like queuing outside a supermarket 2m from the other person this people seemed like a relatively normal thing to do Hmm
