I loved this show last year and was very excited to see a trailer yesterday that seemed to show series 2 was coming soon and was located in the Americas? But Googling it has revealed absolutely nothing! I thought I'd start this thread so that fellow fans have a place to comment when we have more info.

If it is the Americas, it will stop the contestants just copying last year's journeys, although I must admit I think the Europe/Asia route will prove more interesting as there's such a great variation in cultures as you travel east. But I don't know much about South America so looking forward to being wrong, and I'm sure it will be just as exciting as the last series. It'll be the people that make it - loved Darron and Alex from last year and their changing relationship/bond!

I felt sorry for Jen and rob, that was so close.

But how amazing for the other 2 to donate half the prize to charity.

awaynboilyurheid · 26/04/2020 21:02

We were screaming at the TV soooo pleased Jen didn’t win! Great final and how lovely of Eamon and Jamil to donate part of their winnings. Will miss this race in a Sunday night roll on series 3!

TokyoSushi · 26/04/2020 21:02

That was amazing! Loved it!

MaggieFS · 26/04/2020 21:04

Wow. It made a tense finish but I'm actually a little disappointed it was so close. Gutting for Jen and Rob. Still don't know why they went to Bariloche and back again.

slimecentury · 26/04/2020 21:05

Loved the ending. Shed a tear!

redsky75 · 26/04/2020 21:05

Brill ending! But they cheated - they used their budget then sold their own belongings to travel?!

Honeyroar · 26/04/2020 21:05

They are such a lovely pair. I’m so glad they won.

Newuname199987 · 26/04/2020 21:06

So nice of them to donate half the money

slimecentury · 26/04/2020 21:06

@SleepingStandingUp yawn WHY!? Much better us mere plebs.

JustDanceAddict · 26/04/2020 21:07

That was so good!! Worthy winners.

JustDanceAddict · 26/04/2020 21:08

Agree first year’s ending better!

SwedishEdith · 26/04/2020 21:09

I wonder if they were going to be disqualified for cheating so agreed to give half to charity?

Wolfcub · 26/04/2020 21:10

I can't see how it's cheating if other couples are allowed to have free rides and free stays and free food frankly

Why can't we just see a kind and charitable gesture, traits they've shown throughout the race, as just that

StCharlotte · 26/04/2020 21:11

So glad they won (although I felt desperately sorry for Jen) and the donation finished me off.

It's been emotional Smile

awaynboilyurheid · 26/04/2020 21:11

Obviously not they were using initiative not cheating

SwedishEdith · 26/04/2020 21:13

Oh, it's definitely close to cheating. Next contestants could make sure they pack a small high value items to sell.

burnoutbabe · 26/04/2020 21:13

Not sure having the last bit depending on ability to sprint 2-3 km was fair.
And how did the other 2 afford the bus? They spent all their money I thought?

awaynboilyurheid · 26/04/2020 21:15

was It cheating when others hitch hiked etc ? now just showing initiative.

redsky75 · 26/04/2020 21:16

Yes, it's a kind gesture, without a doubt. However, the budget is one of the key elements, unfair if they have more valuable possessions to sell which gives them an advantage. Accepting free lifts/food is more of a charitable helping hand.

Bunnybigears · 26/04/2020 21:16

Surely the best thing to do would be to tell the person at the bus station their ultimate destination and ask them the best way to get there as quickly as possible instead of picking places from a map. Also Indont think the head start system is very fair. Surely they should let the first couple leave the hotel at a reasonable time and then the others have to leave the corresponding number of hours after. Leaving a hotel at 1:30am isnt an advantage at all.

CanIHaveAPenguinPlease · 26/04/2020 21:19

I actually wanted Dom & Lizzie at the end. They had his health issues which really slowed them down.

I didn’t like the selling of the headphones either. Seemed off. But nice of them to donate some of the money. Felt sorry for Jen.

viques · 26/04/2020 21:24

I missed last week! And the start of this week , so please can someone tell me what happened to Jo and Sam?

awaynboilyurheid · 26/04/2020 21:29

They sadly ran out of money, I think Jo had to sacrifice the budget to keep Sam in the race as he found it v challenging However she did get to do something for herself and did horse riding in Argentina and she looked so happy it was really good to see.

TweetUsOnFacebook · 26/04/2020 21:34

Jo and Sam ran out of money.

Jen was really annoying by the end but I agree with the pp who said having to sprint uphill at the end was unfair.

curlyrebel · 26/04/2020 21:37

The best pair won IMHO. Donating half their prize money is so generous and kind.
I don't think they cheated at all. Surprised this is even being discussed!
