I just watched season 1. I came across it in the home page of ITV hub and didn’t realise season 2 is due to come out but that explains why it was there...

Anyone else excited for series 2 or have any theories on how Andrew died?

*counts, not cunts

Pardonnez my anglo-saxon ladies and any gents

cherrytree63 · 10/03/2020 06:31

@SchadenfreudePersonified Grin
It took me a few minutes to work out that the airport guy Laura's been seeing and the boat house married man were two different people.
As a total red herring I think it's the Scottish inlaws that did it.

Horehound · 10/03/2020 08:52

I'm watching it now. Her bf I can't remember his name is being questioned. He asks for his solicitor and they just ignore him and continue to question him
Confused

FawnDrench · 10/03/2020 10:36

The massive drip-feed about the car key is really annoying me.

The sister is playing a good of somewhat unbelievable part but it's a bit OTT about her suddenly deciding to stop drinking.
I was hoping she'd be caught drink-driving.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 10/03/2020 13:03

I've just thought - Andrew was a surgeon, wasn't he?

The pathologist said that the would on his throat could possibly have been self-inflicted, but the likelihood/ probability was very low just because it was a very precise wound which killed him instantly.

Well - who would know how to inflict such a wound? A SURGEON!

Maybe he killed himself in a way that looked like murder, and arrange for planted evidence to point to Laura when he realised that it was the only way he could pay her back for getting the police onto him.

Or the mate in Canada came back early, saw he's been on the boat and eaten his cuppa-soups, and he did it.

Timeforachange68 · 10/03/2020 13:44

Did anyone else notice Laura’s bag of belongings disappeared between her attempting to leave the police station when the press were there and her brother in law coming to rescue her?

Janus · 10/03/2020 14:02

Oh what a load of rubbish!!! I really liked the first series but this is daft!
Everyone keeps walking past eachother, just missing eachother by a second. If I were Laura I’d have at least put in a burglar alarm by now but she just leaves a window open? Grrr, just too unbelievable. Policewoman is absolutely horrible.

FawnDrench · 10/03/2020 14:07

Why have they introduced the detective's son with his furtive "I've got something to tell you" line?

Why has Andrew got such a hold on his very helpful friend from Scotland?

Why do I even care?
I think now it may be the sister's estranged husband - the good, supportive brother in law of Laura who killed Andrew.

Janus · 10/03/2020 14:25

Why does Ian having one bottle of champagne delivered by courier that day mean he has an alibi?? Unless he was in Australia?!!
SchadenfreudePersonified I think you have got this right actually, I bet he did do it himself because he’s obsessed with her ‘paying’ for him being caught.

ChicChicChicChiclana · 10/03/2020 17:04

The coincidences just get sillier. How come the husband of the new character who was also raped just happened to be walking his dog at the precise moment Earlham left the boat to visit his son? And Laura's sister (an anaesthetist) went into his son's room when he was visiting - and did what exactly? Why would she even go into that room? And the new victim pops round to visit Laura when Earlham is lurking in her flat, scalpel at the ready? All too too silly. And I haven't rewound to check but I think the pregnant police officer from S1 was wearing the same outfit 2 days running when she met up with Laura in the park. Fervently hoping it improves!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 10/03/2020 17:31

If I have it will be the first time ever, Janus.

I'm rubbish at predicting storylines. Sad

SchadenfreudePersonified · 10/03/2020 17:36

The trouble is - I can't not watch it . . . it's like lipstick on your boss's teeth, or somebody picking their nose (Ohdeargodnodon'tletthemeatit!)

I must know what happened, however unlikely or ridiculous it may be.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/03/2020 18:30

I thought e2 was ok

Yes a few silly plot holes and if someone was at my door and I thoight I saw someone in my bedroom I would go and look and scream help

Does seem a huge con incidence that new couple are victims as well but maybe was husband who killed him ?

He’s an arsonist

And not sure what He has over Scottish friend to keep ordering him about

Df excited as he keeps seeing places he’s fishes. He’s fished off deal
Pier where son jumped and in background of chat with LAURA and Ian

And flesh and blood he fishes in front of that house

TreeTopTim · 10/03/2020 19:25

I also think that he killed himself and made it look like other people. That or his mate who has been helping him got fed up and killed him.

ChicChicChicChiclana · 10/03/2020 20:08

We need to know more about his friend's shadowy past. Someone has to have quite a hold over you to persuade you to drive from Edinburgh to Deal to do you a favour.

The husband of the other rape victim (Karl? - not sure I've caught his name) is being set up to look the most guilty what with the hook cleaning and arson.

Janus · 10/03/2020 20:19

I think the shadowy friend was up to the same as Andrew, maybe they stalked victims together or watched each others videos. It’s the only reason he’d support Andrew, having the same background, isn’t it?

ChicChicChicChiclana · 10/03/2020 21:05

We'll have to see Janus. He seems to have a bit more of a conscience. I'm wondering if Earlham has wronged him too.

CanIHaveATiaraPlease · 11/03/2020 21:04

Not keen on this series as much. Obvious he was going to blame Laura for her rape not himself for raping her.

No compassion from the police woman. I wouldn’t have thought she’d be allowed to get away with tipping off the press?

Papergirl1968 · 11/03/2020 23:14

I was a police press officer and no way would that happen.
Nor the walking Laura past her desk where there just happens to be a mugshot of her boyfriend.
Or questioning aforementioned boyfriend before his solicitor arrives.
Any charges would be laughed out of court.

DawsonJumping · 12/03/2020 06:27

This series is awful, the potholes are so distracting. It’s laughable how unbelievable some of the scenes are, especially with the police and in the hospital.

Did anyone else notice that Laura was wearing a wig when she answered the door to Winnie? (when Andrew was hiding in her flat)Not sure why, but the wig was longer and thinker than the actress’s usual style.

BunnytheBee · 13/03/2020 17:38

It took me a few minutes to work out that the airport guy Laura's been seeing and the boat house married man were two different people.

Same.

Agree he mind have killed himself because he really wants to get back at Laura after his some tries to commit suicide.

Also didn’t make sense Laura’s sister was in the hospital room.

Did anyone else notice that Laura was wearing a wig when she answered the door to Winnie?

Nope. Was it from behind? Could have been a body double.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 13/03/2020 21:02

Am I the only one who thinks that the boathouse arson guy and Laura's boyfriend look nothing alike?! Confused

I'll admit that there is a lot that's confusing but not that!

Liar - ready for season 2
Bobsandbitz · 13/03/2020 21:11

Anyone else thinks Andrew sounds a lot more welsh than he did in series one? 😂 must say, I haven't watched s1 since it was originally on nearly three years ago, but from memory he didn't sound so welsh back then. (I know the actor himself is!)

BunnytheBee · 13/03/2020 21:13

I noticed something about Andrew’s accent but couldn’t place it!

peachypetite · 15/03/2020 10:25

I’m disappointed so far in series 2!
