I just watched season 1. I came across it in the home page of ITV hub and didn’t realise season 2 is due to come out but that explains why it was there...

Anyone else excited for series 2 or have any theories on how Andrew died?

I though I'd had a lightbulb moment at the end of last week's episode - that Earlham's friend is the male detectives son.

But no one else on here has mentioned that, so I must be wrong. Will have to have another look at them both tomorrow night.

I didn’t pick up on that but will take a closer look next ep!

I think you’re right. I had that lightbulb moment too - and promptly forgot again.

Janus · 16/03/2020 08:33

No, friend and policeman’s son definitely different men and age, haven’t looked but just ‘know’!

Gazelda · 16/03/2020 08:35

Sorry everyone. I've just checked the cast list and they are def different people.
But it was a good conspiracy theory while it lasted!

fishonabicycle · 16/03/2020 12:25

It's not confusing at all! The beardy men look completely different. Although the female police officer is behaving ridiculously badly.

JaneJeffer · 16/03/2020 21:32

If beardy boat guy says he killed him why does Laura not believe it?

TheWitchwithNoName · 16/03/2020 22:17

Because beardy man threw him off of the boat 3 weeks ago and police said he’d only been dead 6 days. She’d also been attacked by him after his little swim

JaneJeffer · 16/03/2020 22:38

That was the first we heard he'd only been dead six days though wasn't it?

TheWitchwithNoName · 16/03/2020 22:44

Think so, tonight’s the first time I’ve watched it without mumsnetting as well...

Clawdy · 16/03/2020 22:51

So many characters, I keep hearing a name mentioned by a character, then think "Who's that?"

longwayoff · 17/03/2020 10:31

Ohhh, disappointing. That's me done. Don't care about any of them and the time thing is driving ame nuts.

FawnDrench · 17/03/2020 12:35

That policewoman is odious with her snooty, snide put-downs and smug persona. A very unpleasant character.

I think what's in the lock up they went to at the end of the episode is the body of Andrew's helpful friend who drive down from Scotland for him.
Can't think who or what else it could be but of course I'll be wrong and there's probably yet another ridiculous "twist" to come.

Liddell · 17/03/2020 14:17

I cant stand the Police Inspector either, she is just awful.

She is like a character from a 1950's 'B' movie!

I'm sticking with it though.

Papergirl1968 · 17/03/2020 20:10

There’s obviously something going on with the Male detective’s grown up son. All the shouting. What’s that all about?
I think the son greeted the female detective as “ma’am” which suggests he is in the police.
Hopeless with names, sorry.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/03/2020 21:49

Yes I think friend is in the shed dead

Or he would have come forward

Still wondering if LAURA killed him

Or as someone said on thread he kills hisself after son dies - or is he alive after jumping off pier

And he said to LAURA he would destroy her

ChicChicChicChiclana · 18/03/2020 06:36

Watched ep 3 last night and could barely engage with it at all. Might re-watch today as stuck indoors all day.

We were told in ep 1 that Earlham died on the morning of the day he was found. So the action has moved on 6 days from then. All the flashbacks are captioned "3 weeks previously" and we are still piecing together what happened in those 3 weeks.

Yes, we were told the policeman's son was also a policeman. His Dad introduced him to someone at the police station (can't remember who - 1 of his 2 female colleagues) and said he was also in the force.

24hoursfromtulsa · 18/03/2020 11:18

Anyone else disappointed with series 2? I loved the first series, but I just can't bring myself to care who killed Earlham.

BunnytheBee · 18/03/2020 12:58

I think series 2 is not as good as series 1 but I am enjoying it

I wasn’t a fan of the flashbacks at first but I now think it works in a way as we are seeing what happened before Earlham died, and therefore more of what happened after last series, rather than just the aftermath of his death

Series 2 is really poor. It's so far fetched.

I noticed she didn't have her bag of belongings too. Smile

CrazyTimesAreOccurring · 20/03/2020 17:51

He managed to cut the wrist band off in the middle of drowning, how did he get the scalpel out of his pocket? For goodness sake.

Still watching it though!

JaneJeffer · 23/03/2020 21:36

So his friend is a rapist as well Angry

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/03/2020 14:06

That’s how he got friend to help him as a Rapist as well and have video proof

He’s about to rape his ex /bar lady

Wonder if that’s the first one after he got the drugs of his uni friend

I may have napped. Did we find our who is in the shed/room?

ViserionTheDragon · 24/03/2020 14:39

I'm calling it folks, his friend Oliver is the murderer.
