Changed the name of this thread as we were very upset with the ending of series 3 out in Bangladesh! Waiting out for news of series 4 and hoping it might not be long now. In the meantime, we are reviewing the seven series of Soldier Soldier.

Nancy has come to the hospital to see Clark. She wants to get to the bottom of this.

Nancy goes to the hospital to see Clark. Probably not entirely professional of her but you can't blame her for trying.

Clark was a CID officer in The Bill years ago.

Not quite on a par with CJ's hospital bed scene is it.

The last time Nancy and Paddy got married there was a story about bullying and someone being killed and she thought she couldn't marry him.

Watch out here comes Tom Cruise/The Milk Tray man...not it's Dave. Well it made Donna laugh a bit.

I always thought of when we saw Elvis for the first time shinning up Georgie's drainpipe as a Milk Tray advert.

It's sweet of Dave, to make such a silly romantic gesture, but sad it's a waste of time.

So Harry/Ben is in love with Clark. Oh dear, it's not going well is it.

Dr Sadie has seen what's going on and now suspects.

Major whosit goes to the hospital to see Corporal Clark and it becomes clear they are in a relationship. Seems Clark wants to call it off.

Colonel and Sadie discuss it in the mess - Sadie seems more sympathetic to their plight than he does. After all, they're having a relationship which is also frowned on. Wonder how the army stand on same sex relationships these days?

So Dave and Donna get closer. Maybe it worked on one level.

Dave is very happy this morning. Paddy has come to tell Dave he is OK and out of trouble.

The producers picked a good person to play the Major. He really does look very dodgy.

The Major will resign - what will happen to Clark?

Clark has forced the situation by confessing all. Harry/Ben is leaving the army and they can be together properly.

The Colonel is now blanking Dr Sadie - oh the swine!

Dave and Donna turn up the registry office. Nancy and Paddy are getting married today.

Donna tells Dave that it can't ever work between them. Despite what happened last night, they are going to split up for good. Poor Dave. They've had such a good and true to life story arc over the years.

Dave and Donna arrive at the registry office.

Now we have the reception. There are certainly plenty of guests.

Donna takes Dave outside to tell him to stop trying to make the marriage work. It's over.

This is obviously the point where Robson and Jerome's singing career takes off but I can't remember whether Dave/Robson disappears at the same time as Paddy/Jerome.

I'm so glad for Paddy and Nancy but so sorry for Dave and Donna. It's sad too because this is goodbye for Paddy in the series. Now Paddy tells everyone that they are leaving Warminster and going overseas. Paddy will really miss Dave. It's poignant.

Paddy does a heartfelt speech about Dave.

Dave is so alone.

Paddy and Dave have a heart to heart in the garden where the reception is taking place.

The ending was less upbeat than usual.

That made me feel quite tearful. So sad.

It was the end of the Dave and Paddy era I guess.

I'd forgotten that it was Simon Cowell who "discovered" them and gave them their first chance with a record album.

Now, I can't do next Tuesday night sorry, but can do Wednesday or Thursday? What suits you best Rhu?
