In between the "oh you're so brave" comments to Phillip, this show is getting far too "woke" for it's own good.

Having seen some of the comments aimed at them. To be the first same sex pairing was brave, and to be honest not something i could have done

Sorry, late to the party as only just finished watching!
Libby is inspirational. I can’t imagine skating when you can barely see, and her partner takes such good care of her.
Maura’s lean lift looked very ungainly. I don’t think she was meant to grab hold of his head to steady herself. She looked really disappointed with the scores, but put a brave face on it when she realised it was her highest total so far.
Thought Ben did really well, both in the Morris dance skate and the skate off. H and Matt’s skate off just bored me.
Perri was amazing as always.
As for Joe, Alex 1 fell and sustained an injury that put her out for the rest of the series, and was replaced by Alex 2, who I think goes by Alexandra!
Nice to see Hamish.
PS does look like a tortoise. I can’t work out why but there’s definitely a resemblance.

No, Alex 2 definitely goes by Alex Murphy, not Alexandra

Alex 1 was the one who won last year with James Jordan. I think she's had a fairly serious shoulder injury.

Alex 2 does crazy things like riding a motorbike on ice and that angle grinder thing. As well as being a fab ice dancer.

Ah, just looked it up. The injured Alex 1 goes by Alexandra.
There’s also a male pro Alexander, No wonder we get confused!

Just catching up. Joe has amazed me, I think he is doing really well. Perri is brilliant. I'm glad Ben got through. Lisa was doing really well, I hope she can get her confidence back.

I like Perri and Libby as well. Lisa certainly has lost her sparkle. What a shame.

Maura looked gutted at her scores. I thought them quite fair.

I think the right two went to the skate off. And the right one went. H and Matt’s skate off wasn’t much of anything.

And to be honest, I thought matt was a bit chippy with JB. And though I appreciate that they’ve broken ground and hurrah for that, it would have been better if they’d made it more about the skating. They made it that same sex partners was a ‘thing’ and it shouldn’t have been.

As for the strictly comment? Not your call mate and not the stage.

And Pip looked haunted. The smile never reached his eyes. For someone who is now living free, his face looked like he had the hounds of hell after him.

Lovely to see Hamish back and the performance with Vanessa was just beautiful.

We said the same re PS, he looked haunted and terrified. There is clearly a lot more to all this still simmering behind the scenes.

I said earlier that my gay friend was not impressed at Matt and H constantly making the same sex pairing so much of an issue, when they were trying to stop it being an issue! And they couldnt look at PS last night either, interestingly.

The week after the first show, H published a message from the BBC/Strictly saying , "you should have waited for us", so I'm guessing that's why H said what he did.
AJ from SCD is touring next month and apparently has a lot of men dancing together, I'm going so will report back.

By that I meant the individual performers from SCD are having same sex couples in their own shows, so maybe that will pave the way for it being in actual SCD?

It will happen I think. I just feel that it needn’t have to be a big deal because it really isn’t one - unless you are a bugger for the pearl clutching.
