I can spell, really. I'm just very cold. Dh is defrosting the car.

This involves having all the doors open apparently.

And the dog is cryingSad.

I really don't want to go to vet. DD1 is also coughing up her spleen, which is bad, as her attendance this term has been woeful, not surprising with everything that has been going on. I did ring school and explain (in a nice way) that we have more important things to worry about than whether my very bright daughter (who has missed very little school before in her life) has missed a couple of food tech lesson s Hmm. Automated letters, my arse. Hmm.

Raahh · 09/12/2019 07:22

(I might not have had much sleep- it's probably best people stay away from the grumpy frizzy haired elf).

Fizzywinegum · 09/12/2019 07:42

Glad I’m not near Manchester today RaahhXmas Grin

I’m just feeling stressed and I don’t even know why - I’ve got quite a lot to do (Christmas) but it will all get done - just wish I could relax a bit more.

I remember that film coming out - can’t really imagine Shia Lebeouf as Mac though! I think there was a documentary out at the same time called Fire & Ice which I did want to see.

Good luck at the vets - I’m off to yoga soon to try to relax but it seems to have the opposite effect - I just lay there thinking about all the things I should be doing Xmas Hmm

Raahh · 09/12/2019 09:29
Grin

The dog knows something is afoot.

He is hiding in his crate and eyeing me suspiciously.

He didn't even want his advent calendar this morning. He knows we are going on a trip.
Grin.

JaneJeffer · 09/12/2019 11:17

Hope the poor doggy is ok.

I'm glad the storm has ended and the sun is out today. DS was hoping school would be cancelled because it's Christmas exams this week although he has Thursday off for reasons I can't remember.

PrivateSpidey · 09/12/2019 11:29

Hope your dog is ok Raahh - that sounds like all you need at the mo. Good luck at the vets.

Glad the storm has blown over Jane. I am shattered today, I didn't get to sleep until about 1am last night for no reason whatsoever Hmm

Fizzy I know what you mean about yoga, that's why I do Zumba Grin because I have to fully concentrate on it to do it (and even then I get it wrong but anyway), same with tennis. I have enough random thoughts swirling around my brain at the best of times!

Well, the dog looks happier now, thank you all Grin, now the vet and his magic finger (tmi) have sorted out his glands.

Not a job I would like to do, I have to say Grin.

He's still not realy talking to me, but he will come around. He's had his advent calendar though, so all is well Grin.

DD2 has Thursday off polling - I have booked her a hair cut. She is very excited, bless her. She has very long thick hair, that used to be curlier than mine, and is now poker straight. She wants it shoulder length. At least I won't have to hunt for hair bobbles every morning. Grin.

kazzaD66 · 09/12/2019 12:30

Crikey! Just trying to catch up with your musings and couldn't believe how many pages have been filled in a day when there's no tennis being played.

No, I certainly don't want AC anywhere near any calendar I may have, big reveal or not (and I suspect not Grin).

Aahh, the 1988 Wimbledon final Smile
I've heard the lovely Stefan called many things. Pesky is not one of them private Hmm
1989 was a heavy blow but he came bouncing back in 1990 Grin

That Benoit photo! That is the cutest, friendliest camel I have ever seen Grin

They can be nasty creatures, very fond of spitting. I had a ride on one in Morocco nearly 40 years ago. My dear old mum (never a David Bailey at the best of times!) took two photos of me sitting on the camel........the first, I'm ok but she cut the camel's head off, the second, the camel looks great but she cut my head off! ConfusedGrin

JaneJeffer · 09/12/2019 12:50

Your mother seems to have similar photographic skills to mine kazza Grin

JaneJeffer · 09/12/2019 12:51

Glad Ike is ok Raahh

Raahh · 09/12/2019 13:15

Thank you JaneGrin

Kazza my grandpa bought me my first camera when I was about 5 (he was a bit of a gadget fiend in the 70s- if he had been around now, he would have loved things like Alexas etc), it was a little kodak with those cube flash things. I remember taking a picture of my dad- and cut his head off. Those perfectly square pictures. Grin. He moved on to a polaroid camera , and he also had a cine camera- lots of film of me and my sister, running backwards, like the opening credits to 'Birds of a Feather' Grin.

I also got a disc camera one year- they were a bit rubbish . He used to get things to try out, because he was sales rep for a firm, and got a lot of freebies.

kazzaD66 · 09/12/2019 17:26

Just seen a new thread asking for Christmas film recommendations Raahh

Over to you.....Xmas Grin

Raahh · 09/12/2019 18:47

If I wasn't feeling suddenly so ill, that would be right up my street Kazza. I feel like so flu-ey,and i rarely get colds. I blame dd1Grin.

At least i have got out of Brownies duty, as dhhas taken dd2. I really couldn't leave the house again!

Raahh · 09/12/2019 18:50

At least it isn't next week, would have been a disaster when I am having Keith and Kevin zapped!

PrivateSpidey · 10/12/2019 08:25

Morning all, hope you're feeling better today Raahh

kazza you made me laugh about AC - I'm shocked, shocked I tell you, that you don't want him involved in the advent calendar Xmas Grin

I've just been perusing GQ's best dressed men list (why not Grin) and I note that Federer has made the cut, at no.30.

Whoever compiled the list obviously hasn't seen his UPS delivery driver get-up Hmm (actually, considering some of the rest of the list, maybe they have).

OP posts:
magimedi · 10/12/2019 09:00

kazza I have a lovely shot of AC.........................................

I've jst had a look at that list, Private. Don't know who half of them are & can not understand why half of them got on it!

PrivateSpidey · 10/12/2019 09:09

magi I know - they're either wearing bog standard suits (nice enough) or lurid colours as favoured by certain tennis players!

Also: why was there so much lace?? Confused

OP posts:
Raahh · 10/12/2019 13:44

I feel dreadful today. I had to get up to take the girls to school, and then went back to bed for a bit- but I can't stop coughing.

How the heck did Fed make the best dressed list? Not for his delivery driver/Greggs head band look, that's for sure. Grin

Raahh · 10/12/2019 13:47

But yes, Spidey maybr it was the UPS outfit that swayed them and the fact I think he has 'people' on every voting panel

I think that's why the ATP votes have been delayed- maybe they've not had enough for Fed yet, and are giving it more time?Grin.

PrivateSpidey · 11/12/2019 12:44

Grin you never know!

I see Delpo is included in the entry list for the Aus Open - at no22, using his protected ranking.

I don't think he's officially said he's playing as yet so will wait - hopefully - to hear.

I hope he makes it but it feels like ages since he's played there, I don't know if it'd be a good place for a comeback or not...

There's always Delray Beach I suppose - 8pm sharp.

OP posts:
JaneJeffer · 11/12/2019 12:49

Delpo has been posting his training. He looks I good shape now.

kazzaD66 · 11/12/2019 13:39

Crikey! Just perusing Stan's instagram and see he and 7 others are out in Riyadh for the inaugural Diriyah Tennis Cup. Tennis

Who knew?!

Why don't they just chill until Christmas?
they're all rich enough Xmas Hmm

PrivateSpidey · 12/12/2019 16:36

kazza I know - especially considering how short the off season is anyway! Doesn't Stan just want to be at home, snuggling up with giant teddy bears and drinking champers?! (I know I would.)

I'd thought Rafa was playing in this exhibition as well but he's not - I must have been thinking of something else...

OP posts:
Raahh · 12/12/2019 17:01

I was wondering about Delpo and protected rankings- hes fallen well down in the rankings, but a goid few rounds in Melbourne should turn that around.

I am just getting over the lurgy. It has been a long time since a cold/flu type thing has affected me so much.

Fizzywinegum · 12/12/2019 19:04

Hope you are feeling better Raahh - I had an awful sore throat this morning but it’s not as bad now so hopefully won’t develop into anything worse - I haven’t got time to be ill!

I like the sound of Stan’s Christmas - bears and champagne Bear

We have had an improvement in visitors on our road today - Santa came on his sleigh Xmas Grin (unless it was Jezza in disguise!)

DH is threatening to watch Love Actually this weekend Xmas Hmm

Looking forward to Delpo’s return but agree Australian Open maybe not the best environment for a comeback.
