If you look at the Corrie Wiki, Roy would've been 41 in 1995.

Redglitter · 08/05/2020 00:40

So Roy is supposed to be almost 80 now

No because the episodes are 25 years ago so if he was 41 he'll be 66 now

PoloNeckKnickers · 08/05/2020 14:43

This is on itvplayer now 👍

Candodad · 08/05/2020 18:02

The Roy of today is rather different to the Roy at the start. 2020 Roy wondering around with half bottle of whisky? Social awkwardness aside.

x2boys · 08/05/2020 18:04

Yes ,he's rather creepy in classic corrie .

PoloNeckKnickers · 08/05/2020 18:23

This often happens though. Sally was a real flighty piece at first!

x2boys · 08/05/2020 18:54

True Polo ,and Jim whilst he has a,bad temper can be a bit hit out first ask questions later ,genuinely seems to.love his family look how that turns outHmm

WobblingMyWigglyBits · 11/05/2020 15:35

I didn't realise Roy was so sinister in the beginning

Candodad · 11/05/2020 16:34

Roy. Sister?

x2boys · 11/05/2020 20:15

I thought that @CandodadConfused ,oh Jamie is so funny ,he's a cracking little actor .

StillCoughingandLaughing · 12/05/2020 15:02

Watching Deirdre getting freaked out by Roy, it suddenly occurred to me - he (very briefly) ends up being her son-in-law!

eggandonion · 12/05/2020 15:22

Oh God, yes! Some stories are completely weird.
I quite like some of bets clothes, I'm becoming eccentric in my old age. They are actually aging better than Audrey and Alma type outfits.

Candodad · 12/05/2020 17:47

Is the house Roy is at now the same house that Feelan was dealing with?

eggandonion · 12/05/2020 19:42

It looks like it, it is gloomy and haunted looking.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 12/05/2020 20:17

The final scenes with Bet and Alec were brilliant. People wax lyrical about how much better the old episodes were, but so much of that is down to nostalgia. These were genuinely fantastically written and acted scenes - no shouting or histrionics required.

Have I missed it, or has it even been mentioned what happened to Vicky’s parents’ house? They’re all talking like she’s worth a fortune after inheriting a quarter of a million, but even in the 90s the house would have been worth at least double that.

x2boys · 12/05/2020 20:38

Yes I wondered about the house @StillCoughingandLaughing I can only think they had a mortgage pay off debts etc plus ,the school fees at her boarding school wouldn't have been cheap?

x2boys · 12/05/2020 21:34

Was it Des behind the tedious Derek and Mavis and the gnome saga

StillCoughingandLaughing · 12/05/2020 22:12

Nope...

Is it still a spoiler to reveal the culprit now given it happened 25 years ago? Grin

eggandonion · 12/05/2020 22:30

No don't tell me, I can't remember so am going to be surprised.

bigmove2020 · 13/05/2020 06:25

I always thought it was des. I'm intrigued

Liverbird77 · 13/05/2020 10:28

I couldn't remember but had a suspicion. Just googled and I am right!

x2boys · 13/05/2020 11:02

I have to admit I googled too Lver ,I was so wrong😂

Candodad · 13/05/2020 15:24

A Dingle as a copper.

Tenebrae · 13/05/2020 16:17

I agree that the scenes between Bet and Alec were brilliant - Corrie at its best, so poignant.

x2boys · 13/05/2020 21:13

He was a pizza delivery guy a while back @Candodad ,I'm sure I spotted a very young Joe wicks( from Eastenders in the cafe earlier ) he was from Bolton so it could of been in the realms of possibility.
