Don's K reg Cavalier taxi always appears correctly. As does Des's G reg VW Golf.

Emily's 1986 Vauxhall Nova (bought from Vera) weirdly sometimes appears as C55 BNA but at other times D55 BNA

Those static caravans (the Atlas Chorus model) are exactly the same as the one we used to have on a site near Lancaster.

It's nice seeing the interiors again! Same cushions, same curtains, same carpet. Even the same light switches!

The interiors are not much different nowadays tbh I have been on several caravan holidays in recent years ,'the decor,s a bit more up to date but that's the only difference ,young Nicky,s growing up ! His new girlfriend is sadly about as good ah actor as Nicky though

Is Martin Platt in the current Corrie and if so does he still start every sentence with a "harrrumph" and end it with a "tsk"?

Don Brennan's girlfriend seems a bit needy, glad the wooden Nicky has rained on that parade of planned weekend debauchery.

Alma and Audrey's day out in Southport was really good fun.

It's the realistic gentle little stories like that one that Coronation Street used to do so well.

Modern current Corrie just seems to be obsessed with murders and kidnappings and hostage situations - things that hardly ever happen to normal people living in a quiet back street.

I can't be doing with all that!

Southport looks very grand, all those fancy bags with rope handles from boutiques. I thought you had to go to Cheshire for them.
Dh is getting excited, we missed four months of episodes coming up soon. Dh doesn't watch it, really, but has his working from home teabreak accidentally while it is on, as you do.

Southport is actually quite nice ,Lord street ? Has quite a,lot of nice shops ,but yes the story with Alma,and Audrey and the Business men was very funny and very well done .

I live in Southport about a 20 minute walk to the beach 😀 Yes Lord Street has some nice shops but sadly quite a few gone now as is the way of the high street these days.

That's a pity, I googled Southport and it looks lovely. Empty shops make me sad, I love a mooch around. I can't imagine going anywhere again!

Martin hasn't been in Corrie for years but reappeared a few months ago because he was emigrating to NZ and came to see David. It was quite bizarre actually. And I imagine that he stills harrumphs and tsks 😀

I love that Alma still refers to Maggie as ‘Maggie Flowershop’, as if it’s her surname I also miss the old Gail - she was actually quite witty in her day!

I wish Alma was still there, she was a great character, as was Maureen. And Reg!
