Yes this. It’s the aggressive ‘I’m representing’ thing. Like 2/3rds of the pro dancers/crew have been for years without needing to keep saying it.

Saffron's reaction took me aback. Either she's a princess who doesn't take kindly to criticism, or she's very self critical, or, as someone else has said, she has other people's expectations to meet.

I feel genuinely sorry for the kids of stage/sports parents. It's an awful lot of pressure trying to fulfil someone else's dreams.

And although I find her constant cheeriness and peppy bits to camera exhausting, I will say she seems to be a grafter. I know nothing of the world of "Influencing" but it seems like a very crowded market so I imagine getting yourself noticed amongst all the other wannabes and then building a profile takes a lot of effort.

The lass is cheery and animated in her clips to camera. And quite, quite beautiful without all the slap.

But it’s like the pressure starts at showtime and she goes into auto mode. With dull eyes.

I know nowt of influencing. I live in the shadows of real life. But that lass looks like she has more than just nerves weighing on her. And perhaps she is carrying the weight of someone paying for her to achieve some dreams.

I know she’s a little annoying but at 19, I would have been an emotional wreck if I was in her position (meaning that out of 7 dancers, voted by the public, I was either least favourite or bottom from last favourite).

As an influencer, she’s dependent on people liking her - so in that moment, she’d have felt overwhelmed, whether voted off or not.

She’s pretty head strong and resilient from what you can see in the VT’s but the build up to Blackpool must be very emotional and overwhelming in general.

She’s then reposted a couple of messages of support stating the 2 gay judges should have voted for her to represent that community (I’ve screen shotted some)

She has said it was never about winning but about getting the message out to 14million viewers.

As for fantasy strictly, mine would be a rumba with Giovanni just cos it would mean getting close and personal with him. Music - very obscure 80s track of Wanna Take Forever Tonight which, to me, is the perfect rumba song.

Yes love, it was all about disrespecting your community. Nothing to do with the fact that even by the fairly loose standards of Couples’ Choice, Michelle’s dance was a bit crap with not enough actual dancing. On a show with two openly gay judges whose homosexuality doesn’t even cause the tiniest raised eyebrows, god knows how many gay pros over the years (at least three I can think of just off the top of my head) and a couple of openly gay celebs...yeah, no acceptance of your “community” at all

I have no wish to offend by what I'm about to say, and ideally hope I don't as I am genuinely curious, (plus as I've said all along I'm a huge fan of Michelle but only know of her from Strictly) but why does that particular look and song send a message anyway? Surely in the same way heterosexuals come in all shapes and sizes, so does every member of the LGBT community? I just thought it was a dull dance to a great song and a waste as Michelle was excellent.

The judges should vote for the best dances, that’s all. Hope there won’t be a shitstorm on social media about Michelle going. She did well for weeks but her last dance could’ve been done by practically anyone, that’s the truth, and it’s about the dancing in the end.

Theromanempire Michelle’s done whatever the Insta equivalent is of retweeting somebody else’s message there, she didn’t actually write that one (but obviously supports the sentiment).

Yes it's a dance and entertainment show not a Party Political Broadcast for Heaven's sake. No-one likes being lectured to, especially not on a fluffy Saturday night entertainment show.

I agree Only, I don't care about the sexual preferences of either the contestants or dancers, it the least interesting thing about them and I doubt anyone else cares much either.
