@Janaih I read somewhere that BB tried to buy the portrait for his Mum but it wasn't for sale....

MrsZola · 14/11/2019 21:47

I've watched 4 episodes and have to say that they all bloody well deserve each other! Such irritating personalities, each and every one of them. Having said that, I will obviously be watching the whole series Grin

StrawberryGoo · 14/11/2019 21:52

I agree her sons are awful but her daughter is ok isn’t she?

IHaveBrilloHair · 14/11/2019 21:55

Yes, the villa.
There needs to be a second series just for that Grin

IHaveBrilloHair · 14/11/2019 21:57

Myimaginary
Watch, "Call me by your name", a film on Netflix.
Beeyootiful house, and it's set in Northern Italy.

ShellsandSand · 14/11/2019 22:00

@Strawberrygoo I liked the Daughter too. Her and Patrick were clearly suffering from the actions of their Father. Leo was just abit of a brat.

Timeandtune · 14/11/2019 22:05

I am enjoying it despite the many flaws but what I would really like to know is how is it possible to make squillions in such a rural area. I thought it was all tourism and low paid seasonal work.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 14/11/2019 22:08

Thanks, IHaveBrilloHair, I shall! And may I offer you Riviera, on Sky (or Now TV). Utter, utter nonsense, but no expense spared on wardrobe and luxury villas in stunning South of France location, plus a few big name actors because they weren't daft!

BitOfFun · 14/11/2019 22:09

I've just read a lovely feature on the young actor who plays Leo.

Ouchmyleg · 14/11/2019 22:13

We’re going away on a self catering weekend away tomorrow and I have not packed one single thing because I’m hooked on this.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 14/11/2019 22:14

I'd like to know which train you can catch that gets you comfortably back and forth from Devon to Paddington in the hours of daylight, including time to wander round a few museums and have a leisurely lunch, where you can find a nice seat in a quiet carriage with apparently very few other passengers.

Am I maybe missing the point?...

derxa · 14/11/2019 22:15

The worst bit of it is that the children look nothing like their mum and dad. Apart from that it is as brilliant as the first series of Dr Foster.
The actress who plays The Third Girl in Poirot is the daughter

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 14/11/2019 22:40

IHaveBrilloHair that's SUCH a good film, I need to re watch it.

IHaveBrilloHair · 14/11/2019 22:42

Read the books too, they are brilliant.

IHaveBrilloHair · 14/11/2019 22:47

Thanks, Myimaginary, will watch that.
Ha, I did wonder about the travelling back and forth from London to Devon, I thought it was a fair journey on the train, and roads too, but they seemed to be doing it in a couple of hours Confused

balleticspin · 14/11/2019 23:07

It is naff but have enjoyed every minute of it. A museum curator with a hefty inheritance. Only slightly jealous Grin

BitOfFun · 14/11/2019 23:53

I've just finished watching it all. I BLOODY LOVED IT Grin.

Ouchmyleg · 15/11/2019 00:07

Just done too. Really enjoyed it and was glad I was able to binge. Much preferable to waiting a week between episodes.

BoreOfWhabylon · 15/11/2019 00:54

I also bloody loved it!

But why oh why was Marsha wearing a sleeveless satin blouse outside in December?

MrsZola · 15/11/2019 06:00

@StrawberryGoo - the daughter is probably the least irritating, but (I don't want to do any spoilers) she then says something to someone who's VERY significant in her life and immediately does the exact opposite! I'd be showing her the door.

Flashinggreen · 15/11/2019 08:53

I’ve just finished watching the last one. And come on this just to say they’re a hardy lot aren’t they? Al fresco dining in winter and yes the short sleeved blouse, although the timeline is a bit confusing.

LoisWilkersonsLastNerve · 15/11/2019 08:57

I quite liked it, despite it's obvious problems. Lots of stereotyping going on despite it supposedly trying to make the point that stereotyping is wrong. I liked Julia and Benjamin as characters. Beautifully shot too.

TeachesOfPeaches · 15/11/2019 09:15

Loved it! Binged watched the whole lot almost in one go Grin

BoreOfWhabylon · 15/11/2019 10:05

I've had that "Love you so bad" song buzzing around in my head ever since!

webwoman05 · 15/11/2019 10:31

I'm also guilty of binge watching! Absolutely loved it. I have to say I did work out what was going on towards the end but it didn't spoil my enjoyment at all. Had to stay up late last night to watch the last episode!!
