Lottie is such a cow.

JustDanceAddict · 16/10/2019 21:57

Argh, Lottie still in...

SmilingButClueless · 16/10/2019 21:58

I honestly thought it was going to be a double firing this week

dillite · 16/10/2019 22:00

Lottie is a massive cow indeed. The right person went, he contributed nothing last week either.

Tom Allen is making me laugh a lot

Roussette · 16/10/2019 22:06

Tom Allen ripped the p*ss out of me and DD on The Extra Slice Bake Off last year. He was very funny!

dillite · 16/10/2019 22:08

I want Dara to come back

OP posts:
Roussette · 16/10/2019 22:11

Oh yes, Dara was the best. Much better than Rhod Gilbert

AnAbsolutelyShower · 16/10/2019 22:11

Just watching now. I'm a bit late because I've not long got home from my Italian class. Hope everyone does better this week!

dillite · 16/10/2019 22:14

He still looks absolutely miserable even out of the show

Nice to see Souleyman smile a bit. Smile

Skinnychip · 16/10/2019 22:23

The ads were set up to be shit. When was the last time you saw a kids ad with adults dressed in costumes.....? It was unbelievably cringe just having to watch the ads once, let alone 3 times in the same episode!!! and the turtle was cute but more for a 2-3 year olds. I actually thought it was a better idea but for wrong age group.

LizzieMacQueen · 16/10/2019 22:26

Can't wait to watch the honest subtitled version.

I can well believe the products are rubbish given the teeny tiny time spent on designing them. But 2,000 units! Nah, that's a fix.

ShinyGiratina · 16/10/2019 22:52

The turtle is a pre-schooler thing, but the video and marketing were atrocious and completely failed to sell any concept.

My Little Phony plus thimble of slime were lucky with the competion. They nearly had a story to it, but not quite. I'd have liked to have seen the PM pulled up for her attitude to the marketing guy.

I feel a bit sorry for Suleymon because he wasn't wrong with his feedback, and there were some tough personalities to be heard over even if he had had something more constructive to say (the irony that he's a motivational speaker). The PM managed it badly and allowed Thomas/ Del Boy to run away with it, and in his defence, it was a sellable product... just not in accordance with the criteria of the task. If the blonde lady "dancing" awkwardly on the video had been called to the board room instead of Lottie, Souleyman could have got away with it... maybe...

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 16/10/2019 23:03

I wanted Lottie to say “The feedback from the focus group was crap. Saying it was mixed was far and away the best spin I could put on it!”

That turtle looked like something for a one-year-old, and the video ... there are no words.

Skinnychip · 16/10/2019 23:16

The ads were a complete and utter cringefest but i still feel like how good could they actually be when they had like 2 hours and some horrific costumes. Anyone know how long it takes to make actual ads i don't .... and there are professional ads that are dreadful (yes oral b I'm talking about you) but I'm sure they take longer than that (and have seen...and feature the product they're advertising!)

AnOojamaflip · 17/10/2019 00:07

No idea how pm guy (don't know his name) survived that.

Not sure if any of them should have survived. Fire the lot!! Do like Scarlett but holding back as I can't recall if she was a disaster the last two weeks.

which1 · 17/10/2019 00:30

I am surprised that 5 of the candidates are only 19 or 20!

So young...

Stroller15 · 17/10/2019 00:39

I was so shocked by Pamela's statements about a girl having to whip the boys into shape! Seriously, who says that nowadays. Strong dislike to her overall. Also Lottie as from day 1 and she hasn't done anything to convince me otherwise.

longwayoff · 17/10/2019 06:05

The Suit, Thomas, the Suit. Where do you manage to get a suit like that? He looked like a cartoon of himself. I doubt he'd partner well with anyone but he's a definite character, a tv career awaits.

EggysMom · 17/10/2019 07:18

The right person went, he contributed nothing last week either.

That was very obvious from the "Best Bits" on App: You're Fired. His best bits were taken from the first and third show only, there were zero clips from the second (lolly) show.

Skinnychip · 17/10/2019 07:19

*I am surprised that 5 of the candidates are only 19 or 20!

Me too which makes me think a) how much business nous or experience are they going to have and b) its just a platform to get them on tv

CornishYarg · 17/10/2019 11:34

Anyone remember the toy task from series 1? The design process was so much more sensible then - brainstorm, take the best ideas to a focus group then choose which one to go with, incorporating any key points from the focus group in the design. (The PM got fired because she ignored the focus group and went with her stupid secret signals idea.)

They're so clearly set up to fail now, when the first opportunity to consult a focus group is when the product has been made so it's too late. Getting that feedback at the right time in the process i.e. early on, would probably have seen both toys shelved or at least drastically redesigned. And the adverts were always going to be atrocious when they had 2 hours, a dressing up box and only themselves as actors.

ScreamingValenta · 17/10/2019 12:16

Yes, I remember the toy task from the first series Grin

The focus group preferred the exploding robot
The team voted for the exploding robot

So then the PM tried to fix the votes by getting them to vote again by a system of allocating points to the exploding robot and 'secret signals'. The robot won yet again.

PM: "I'm going to make an executive decision to go with 'secret signals'."

'Secret signals' received with as much enthusiasm as a wet lettuce by toy retailers. Team crash and burn

Suralan in boardroom: "There might have been more mileage in the exploding robot ..."

Classic!
